Wacheza smiled, looking at his friends as they fluttered around him, "Yeah, you're right. I do always have them, and that's perfectly fine with me. Here," he reached around with one paw, letting one of the butterflies fly onto it before he held it out to Akai, "As long as you don't make any sudden movements, they'll probably stay with you. Just hold out your paw."
It had been hard for him to make the butterflies stay with him. Mostly, it had been a lot of waiting around, but eventually they had gotten comfortable with him, and usually they would go along with whatever he tried to make them do. Which really wasn't all that much, so it was easier when he did try. He had never actually tried to see if they would hang around another lion though... but he figured that as long as he was there, they would probably be alright.

"Ooohhh." Akai quickly gathered herself up, sat down, and took a moment to be very very still. Well, it'd be neat if she could at least sorta hold one, even if only for a tiny bit. That would be totally awesome to her.
After a moment, she gingerly stuck out her black-toed paw towards Wacheza, keeping her focus on staying as still as possible. Her red eyes darted from Wacheza's face back to her paw, to the butterflies.
And while she really really wanted to hold one, she kenw better than to expect so. Patience, and the ones who waited might just get what they want.

Wacheza moved incredibly slowly, but gracefully as he held out his paw, inching forward so that he wouldn't startle the butterfly on his paw. Soon, his paw touched Akai's. The butterfly moved around on Wacheza's paw for a little while, but he encouraged it to keep on moving forward, and eventually (though it took a minute or so) it was coached into settling on the lioness' paw.
And there it would sit, until it either got bored, or she made any sudden movements, "There." Wacheza smiled, speaking softly so that he wouldn't scare it, smiling happily, "See? You've got it. Just try not to move too fast when it's getting used to you."

Akai's eyes widened when she felt the little tickle of movement that could only be the butterfly. She had been staring at Wacheza at that moment, and her eyes widened when it registered that she was really holding a butterfly! It took every bit of will she had to not squeal, but instead slowly turn he head downwards so she could get a better look at the butterfly.
It was gorgeous, though in this moment anything would be gorgeous to her. She peeked upwards at Wacheza, offering a broad smile as a thank you, and balanced her paw so the butterfly would hold still on her paw, even if for only that small amount of time. It all seemed to pass by so slowly, yet so quickly, too.
"Pretty," she whispered, hoping to not spook the butterfly.

The butterfly's wings fluttered slightly, but aside from that it didn't move, which only made Wacheza smile more, "I think that one likes you. They're usually best when the area is quiet, but once they get to know you better, then it can get louder and they won't mind." He looked thoughtful, his own butterflies continuing to flutter about on his back.
"Mine don't leave that often... unless something really spooks them. But that doesn't happen very often." He smiled a little, "I guess they're like friends, in that way. Hum... I should remember that... butterflies and friends... well, except that they are my friends... but I was thinking in terms of other lions..."

Quiet...well, that meant that if the butterfly wanted to stick with her, she would have to find it a place to stay when she was with her family. They weren't always...quiet. Her brow furrowed as she thought about it, but she was still doing her best to keep herself still, so the butterfly could continue to get used to her. So far, so good.
"Okay..." she said carefully, most of her attention still on the butterfly. "I'll make sure to remember that." Her eyes soon moved up to his face, humored at the thought that he was jumbling up friends and butterflies. To her, anything could be your friend as long as they were nice to you. "Hehe!"

Wacheza stopped mumbling to himself and smiled as she laughed at him, "What's so funny?" He asked, tilting his head to the side, smiling back at her.
Funny how sometimes days that might have ended up being boring could be fun. He had never really shared his butterflies with anyone before, and no one else had really been interested in them. He was glad that someone else seemed to like them as much as he did.

Akai's attention was pulled yet again away from the butterfly as she looked back up at Wacheza. "Well," she started softly, her red eyes looking back down at the butterfly. SHe gingerly, and slowly, drew her paw a bit closer to herself, since it was starting to get a bit tired, being held out like that!
"Well," she repeated, smiling at Wacheza, "It's not really funny, I'm just so happy!" she explained, giving another small giggle as she felt the tickle of the butterfly. Oops! SHe had drawn the poor thing too close to her face, at it was obviously a bit nervous. She shifted her paw upwards, so hopefully it would hop up onto her head, so her arm could rest.

Wacheza laughed back at her, watching the butterfly manage to figure out that it should crawl on it's new friend's head, "I'm really glad you're happy Akai. It makes me happy... so..." He tilted his head to the side, "I guess that sort of... makes us friends, doesn't it? If I'm happy that you're happy, I mean."
Now, there was a notion of friendship. Did happiness at the happiness of another make them friends? Yes, that seemed right, at least to him anyway. Everything seemed just fine.

Akai's eyes glimmered at the thought that the both of them were 'friends'. It was a very comforting thought to know that she had a friend, someone other than her family. And while she really did love her family, having someone outside of it would be very refreshing.
She shivered, trying to resist the urge to just around and exclaim her happiness in that way. But she knew better than to make her butterfly friend fly off, and so she shook just a bit, before letting her tense muscles relax. "I would love to be friends with you, Wacheza! I like you, you're really nice," she said.

Wacheza grinned, tilting his head to the other side, "I'm glad that you think so Akai. I'm really really glad you agree. Having friends is a lot more fun than... well, not having friends. Plus, sometimes it's nice to talk, instead of just looking at the pretty butterflies."
He did love his butterflies, and like Akai, he loved his family. But his family was growing up. Some of his siblings were already leaving him. Miri would... soon, because he knew all she wanted to do was leave. He needed new friends, ones outside his own family. Ones who weren't butterflies, who he could talk to. That seemed like a nice idea to him.

Akai giggled. "I agree!" she exclaimed, wiggling her rump a bit as she showed her agreement with him. Friends were the best, especially when they were so different from you! Enough that there were always stories and things to talk about, but similar enough that you were comfortable enough to feel a bit peaceful too.
"We can always meet here and talk, right Wacheza? If this butterfly decides to follow me, too, I promise to take really good care of it!" And she'd make sure to hide it from her rowdy brothers, too. She wanted her butterfly friend to be around here as much as it could!

Wacheza grinned and nodded, "I'll be sure to hang around here more often, but I'm always wandering around the boarders if you want to come and see me. I can't really go too far... my mom worries a lot, but as long as I'm back by the end of the day, she'll probably be okay." And his mother did worry more, now that some of his siblings had left... he knew how sad it made her to think that her children would leave her alone.
But still, he liked Akai, and clearly some of his butterflies wanted to hang around with her too. He was certain she wouldn't let any harm come to it. She seemed like a good lioness, and that only made him like her more. He did hope she would come and see him again, "You can come and see me any time you want."

Akai smiled. "Okay," she replied, still a bit distracted from all the butterflies. Her red eyes followed them for a bit longer, her head trying to drift around like their small bodies. It...didn't look too graceful, but her movement were smooth.
"Oh!" she said, realizing that Wacheza was inviting her over to play again. "I'd really like that," she said, slowly learning to watch the loudness of her voice around the butterflies. "You're so cool, of course I'd want to come see you again! Plus I shouldn't wander too much either, I'm sure my parents wouldn't like that, especially since I'm still kind of young." And she knew that she aws young, which was the smarter part of it.

"Yeah, you wouldn't want to worry them." Wacheza agreed, chuckling a little bit as she watched her butterfly, "I think it's going to want to say you. I think it likes your fur." He mentioned, tilting his head to the side.
"We're both still kind of young..." he mentioned, nodding as his thoughts drifted off again. Youth... but he was getting older. Soon he would have to take his place in the pride. Less time to himself, and more time to contribute to others.
