I wish I could do this. I'm always writing little things for ff.net and I've tried putting together something of my own ideas but I can never make it past five or six pages if I'm lucky. >__< I suck at coming up with ideas most of the time and my grammar can get a little ******** up sometimes. (I'm bad with Fragments and I always fee like I'm rambling when I try to explain things)

And then if I do dare to try to make something into chapters, I forget an important piece of information from earlier and mess my story up. x_X

@ Neko: It depends on how many I sell. And if by naughty you mean pornographic, then no. XD

@ Wormmy: If you really want to do it, don't give up. It took me years to write mine. Of course if it isn't something you're serious about then I suggest you just stick to little stuff, since it takes a hell of a lot of work.

I'd really like to do it, but I just never feel like I could ever do it. Like If I ever get stuck on something, five minutes later I give up and feel like crying, feeling like I have no talent and can't do anything.

Happens to me all the time when I try to write or draw something.

They didn't pay your an initial amount for the story? You just get royalties?

@ Wormmy: Yeah, I know how that is. There are so many times I almost gave up along the way. xp

@ Neko: Yep. I'm a first-time author. No one wants to invest much in me yet. whee

How cha get someone to publish your book? O: How does that whole thing work out?
PostPosted: Sat Jan 05, 2008 9:30 pm
@ Neko: Thanks, I'm hoping. And now I'll know it's you if someone calls continuously and then hangs up right away. XD

@ Wormmy: There are several ways. Conventional, self-publishing, and the middle ground, small companies which usually require you to do a lot of the work yourself. I took the middle ground, since that's the easiest for a first-timer.

@ both of you: I need to get offline now, I have to eat and I have work to do on my next book. xd

Oh my gosh! Congratulations, Dragonfire! Wow~~ I'm in awe.

Wormmon--I don't know if this'll work for you, but it worked for me: try National Novel Writing Month next November. [x] You sign up and try to write 50,000 words all in November. Before NaNoWriMo, the longest things I'd written were two extended fanfictions, but in November I wrote 50,043 words, AND I've finally got a story idea that I feel like is "all my own."
I sound like an infomercial, don't I? d: But NaNoWriMo is amazing. A well-documented side effect is that planning for and writing a NaNovel really gets your brain into the writing mode, so things that you might normally just say "Hey, that's weird" about often produce plot bunnies and everything. (This is how I got the story I'm developing now. I wasn't writing about the main character in November, but he wouldn't SHUT UP.)

Sooo anyway. Yeah. >___> Do eet?
