I whant a prove that i can't celebrate my birthey. Can you show me the hadith who says that it's gunha to celebrate birthey?
Yes... there is...
First of all, let me introduce you the origin of birthday celebration itself.
This tradition came from Europe. That time, they believed the birthday of someone will make devils come near the one having birthday. Then, they thought it was necessary to prevent from that thing happens.
The family of the one having birthday must accompany him or her, so the devils won't come near. They chant prayers together as a barrier from them, and give presents to make devils think once again since all of them is having a good time and no sadness around them. Indeed, Birthday Celebration was a legacy of Europe's Dark Ages....
According to the records found in an unknown region. Birthday celebrations was only for kings. But, as time passes by, ordinary people, especially those who possesses extra money, celebrate it too, that's why until now, some of children used a crown made from paper in someone's birthday celebration.
Muslim in Rasulullah saw ages never celebrated their birthday... they have a hadits echoed in their head.... and what would be it?
"
Those who acts like a society, is a part of that society"
Shahih Abu Dawud.
Can't you see where this was originated? Dark Ages: The Fall of Western Rome and chaos was everywhere. Yet this tradition was did by idol worshipers.... Why would we want to be a part of them?
Conclusion: Birthday celebrations are Haram.
I predicted some of those who read this will ask this:
"Well, but it is okay to celebrate birthday by just, eat together, and chant prayers based on Islamic syariah, without that blowing candles and all that, right?"
I'm afraid the answer is, no. It's because the condition of "tasyabbuh bil kuffar" (traditions of infidels). Eating and chanting prayers together are fine, but doing it in the birthday of someone in purpose of celebrating the person birthday, would be haram.
According to the book of as-Sulam by Abdul Hamid Hakim:
"
Idza ijtama'a al halaalu wal haraamu, ghalaba al haramu al halaala."
Translation: When a halal thing meets a haram thing (in one condition), the haram will overcome the halal.
Due to that condition, such celebration is
Haram.
An addition to convince you....
"And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of hearing, or of seeing, or of (feeling in) the heart will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning)."Qur'an Surah Al Isra, verse 36.
Another conclusion: Do not do or say something if you don't know what it really means.
Wassalam.
