i GUESS it is bad on the premise that it is Allah who can create the same thing as an image of a human being. but with the pictures and drawings you sort of create your own being minus the life of course.

Some of it is dreamworld stuff, like in surrealism....it's just random pictures. We wouldn't learn how to read without pictures and keep records, heck even arabic and other languages are pictoral when you think about it. imitating life would be cloning humans, test-tube babies, and that sort of thing.

Yeah, I'm Christian and I can see the reasoning behind that.
Jesus is really messed up. Because of all the pictures, Jesus differs and people argue. Jesus is white, Jesus is black, Jesus is arab (I'm going with that one). It really is useless to argue about, and it would be a lot simpler to not draw him at all.
So I guess you don't want to cause conflict?

Bismillah ---
Well, part of it that way, yes.
But it's never going to happen, since the Quran will remain the same for all ages, and since we know it's Arabic, so that must mean that prophet Muhamamd is Arab, and all of his Hadiths are Arabic. But, we want his picture to remain good in our heads, if everybody started to draw him, then bad people will start to say: This is how Muhammad looks like. They'd make him look like a bad person or something like that. Anyways, that would affect his reputation as the message holder ( Peace Be Upon Him )..
I really love Prophet Muhammad since he's the one who taught us the message from Allah, won't love someone who tells you a good news?

First off, if a faith is really strong, they wouldn't be discouraged by people slandering the faith or making fun of the faith. For the small amount of people that make fun of Muhammad, there are probably 100 more for each one that makes fun of the man called Jesus. And, political cartoons are satire; they take the extremes and point them out to people. Most are pointing out how extremists take Muhammad's outlook on live and twist it, hence, making fun of your prophet is really targeting the stupid fundamentalists who do make Islam look bad.
I think this cartoon is a perfect example of MASS MUSLIM reaction to the world. Whether or not the majority of people are "real muslims" or not; it was still the outcry that was loud enough to capture everyone's attention. EDIT: I found aMuslim comic book. I thought it was hilarious. I still laugh over the christain comic about the evils of masturbation and porn...that was funny. xd

You really can't understand this, can you? I mean.. Women abuse, honor killing, suicide bombings, we react at the same thing, but we got tired of people saying it's a crapy religon. But when it comes to Muhammad ( PBUH ) .. It's not the same, for Allah's sake he's the one who carried the message for us, if we couldn't protect him, then we won't have the hope to protect our own religon!
--- Salam!

How do you expect to protect a dead guy's honor when people can't even properly follow his teachings?

How do you expect to protect a dead guy's honor when people can't even properly follow his teachings? Actually a better question would be: Why aren't followers strong enough to suck up the teasing and mockery and focus on fixing the issue of extremists that mar the name of Islam far more than some cartoons?
Mini-Angel, if people made fun of your prophet as much as they did Jesus, I would expect to have had several people killed by now. The outrage over the comic was absolutely ridiculous and uncalled for. I'm saying this to the Muslim world outrage: grow up. Get over it. Move on.
There's something called "freedom of speech" that entitles people to make fun of, tease, make a mockery of something. What people are not allowed to do is "libel" which is deliberately creating a lie and publishing it (this applies for stories). There are some regulations about pictures being posted here and there and what sort.
The outrage about a stupid comic makes Islam look even more like a spoiled child that got his precious toy taken away. I get insulted for being a Catholic, there's numerous numerous pictures and websites and articles slandering my religion (far more as Catholicism has been around much longer and in the 'hate spotlight'). I'm also insulted for being in the military; I've been publicly insulted, hit by a car....but you don't see me making violent protests, or gathering people and burning and threatening to kill those who insult me. What you should be more focused on is cleaning up the image of Islam; directly countering those who put a bad name on islam---those extremists that make everyone look bad. That is where you should focus your efforts and rage. Not at the cartoonist. The cartoonist is basing his/her viewpoint off of the people who are setting the stage for islam=the extremists.
Before you complain about the splinter in your neighbor's eye, remove the log from your own.

Bismillah ---
I may agree with you. I tend to be emotional and I can't judge based on the way I feel. If you love someone, you can do whatever for him, even though he's dead!
But, I think about it this way. Since Prophet Muhamamd ( PBUH ) is the message holder, he's the source, when the source is being teased, then the whole message is not worth even looking at. That's the way I think about it. And who teases Jesus? In Islam, Issa, is a prophet, and he shouldn't be teased!! It's haram!

--- Salam! It happens all the time. Freedom of speech. You learn that that teasing about the source isn't important, but rather, what you do in direct contradiction to the source. People call me cold and heartless for not believing in a higher power. I get made fun of all the time, and people mock me for it. Yet I go an volunteer to help at risk kids, I help at food banks, I take time to visit the elderly in nursing homes. I don't let it get to me and move on. It's not worth the effort to complain and whine about the damage being done or worse, strike back recklessly, earning more backlash for what belief you follow.

Ratri_Cat السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته
Hello again. I have another question.
I see lots of pictures and movies (both good and bad) portrayals about different biblical events, about the life of Jesus, ect. Personally I like the Passion of the Christ....
Anyhow, why don't we see that same sort of thing about the Prophet Muhammad? Why is his face never shown? Why is it that people are so against to portrayals of him? Why not create a movie about his life?I've read about his life and I am absolutely fascinated by it. I think it would be amazing to do that kind of portrayal...to show his legendary dedication to God, what it means to be a good servant of the Lord. People show that with Jesus, why not with Muhammad? we can make movies about his life matter of fact there is an old movie called "the message" i can pm it to you if you like the full version. but of course the beloved is not actually shown of course
