Pokerus. Your pink thing with... Whisper, ya. You had it called Richter. It had it. Pokerus is apparently something that a wild pokemon can have and is over three times rarer than a shiny pokemon. It gives the infected pokemon 1 extra stat point in all skills at each level up. It is spread to other pokemon in the party, but loses it if it is boxed I think.

It would probably be best to look it up.

I infect all my Pokemon with the Pokerus.
A friend of mine lucked out and caught a wild Pokemon that was infected, and now it's spread all over my town.
All my friends, and their friends, and their friends' friends have it.

Looked it up. You get it from battling (I think). It does NOT lose it in your box. It gives double exp.

Guess our little battle might yield a little present XD.

Make sure to keep that Pokemon in the PC so it stays contagious.
Just get it out to infect others, then put it away.

Put the contagious Pokemon right behind the one you want to infect in your party.
Enter some random battles and either win or run.
Keep checking the Pokemon behind your contagious Pokemon, and you should see that it is infected soon.
Once infected, you'll see the purple logo for the Pokerus.
When the Pokemon is no longer contagious, it will have a new symbol that's like a little face.
It will still reap the benefits of the virus, but will no longer be able to spread it.

Unfortunately, I don't have time for a battle right now.

okay it seems that you don't really know what pokerus is.

First off I don't think pokerus is rarer then a shinny but it is still rare.

second pokerus effects EVs (effort value points) by doubling the amount you get per battle.

EVs effect your stats, when it levels up (IVs do too but you can't effect those, a pokemon is born with them). in total EVs can add about 40 points to two stats or you can split it up even more.

EVs help time =)

Each pokemon starts off with no EVs when it is hatched or first caught. You can gain EVs by battling pokemon, each pokemon gives a certain amount to certain stat/s. (Here is a list, you will have to scroll down)

each pokemon can have a grand total of 510 EV points. 255 is the max for one stat. every 4 points adds 1 to your pokemons stat. (that beening said there is no point in putting more the 252 points in one stat.)

I hope that clears the smoke on the whole pokerus thing and helps with EVs. Heres a tip, EVs are a big help to pokemon, keep track of which stats and how many points you are putting into one stat so you can get the full effect.

Oh yeah there is a way to reset EVs if you want. Those berries that say raise happiness but lower a stat take away EVs.

I'll answer any other questions you guys have or I'll show you how effective EV training is by battling you guys. I'll give you a tip if you want to battle me, I use a lot of water pokemon.
