I think it's much better when the anime and manga are totally different. It makes it more worthwhile to invest in one (or both) after seeing the other.

Yeah I agree, they just have to make the storyline good. A pefect example of how not to alter the storyline is the Samurai Deeper Kyo anime. The SDK manga is so much better, it's just sad. -_-; I think the Blood+ manga is a perfect example of how to alter the storyline while keeping it good and interesting.

MM..I read a couple of chapters of Kyo, thought it sounded interesting and asked for the whole first volume, but I was bored by the end. xd

MM..I read a couple of chapters of Kyo, thought it sounded interesting and asked for the whole first volume, but I was bored by the end. xd The first volume of the manga is kinda slow (and has a little too much fan service in my oppinion), but when you get into it around when Yukimura becomes a regular character it starts getting really interesting. The anime was just down right lame; it added in these weird alien creature/demon things called kennyo and crap like that and it had a weak storyline and left out a bunch of characters and added in a new character that was raised in Japan but had a spanish accent for some reason. It was really... weird. -_- So far the Blood+ manga has all the characters that were in the anime at that point in the story and there are no strange additions to the story other than Karl being chibi-esque. I really like tha manga and can't wait to read the third volume, chibi-karl and all. [Spoiler: (Poor Riku is being held captive by the little psycho. ;_; ) ]

After reading volume 3, I still feel like.. I would really not care about any of the characters if I had not watched a 50 episode anime about them.

I've got it, and it's one of the fastest manga I've finished. I like how this version of the storyline is progressing--it's a very interesting interpretation. Plus, Diva's adorable. <3
