Ratri_Cat BeXlieXve Ratri_Cat XeroRyn Ratri_Cat السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته Jerusalem...the most wanted real estate in the world.... yeah...thats right....what the secret behind it?? for me it is supposed to be uniting the community Jerusalem is sacred to the Jews and has been their capital on and off. It is where the great Solomon's temple was built, where David lived, and the great kings of Israel's past have existed. It is the heart of Judaism.
It is also the heart of Christanity. In that area, Jesus was born, and it was in Jerusalem he died and had the last supper with the apostles. he sweat drops of blood in the Garden of Gesthename, and he rose from the dead somewhere around there.
I understand it has significant meaning for Muslims as well.
It's extremely important to everybody.
No one should fight for control of Jerusalem. It should be free to all who come and worship. If only it were that simple... but everyone has different motives for it. From what I understand, there's a temple somewhere there. It's important to the Muslims, but the Jewish people want to tear it down and build their own temple in its spot. And the Christians want the Jews to do that, because it's supposed to bring about the second coming of Christ. Of course, that's just what my dad has told me. It could be wrong, but he watches the History Channel a lot, and they talk about religious history almost daily.
o.O' never heard of that one. which christians are you talking about?
personally i'd like you to specify. I'm christain, and can assure you, I do not want that to happen. Well, not the sane ones... I'm sort of a Christian too. I'm an Agnostic Theist, but I fall back on Catholicism. So I count. But the really hardcore Christians all want the second-coming to happen, because afterward, we're supposed to have a thousand years of Heaven on Earth.

erm...do you have proof of this, because even though there are some pretty crazy nutbags out there that call themselves Christain, it still sounds pretty far-fetched.
Always thought that when there was a "one world government" sort of thing, then that would cause more people to call for end times, not starting in Jerusalem....

Well, as I said, that's just based on what my dad told me. It's possible that I misunderstood what he said. But let's see what I can find. Okay, from Jerusalem's Wikipedia page... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerusalem This is why it's important to all three religions: Quote: Despite having an area of only 0.9 square kilometer (0.35 square mile),[8] the Old City is home to several sites of key religious importance: the Temple Mount and its Western Wall for Jews, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for Christians, and the Dome of the Rock and al-Aqsa Mosque for Muslims. Also: Quote: Jerusalem plays an important role in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The 2000 Statistical Yearbook of Jerusalem lists 1204 synagogues, 158 churches, and 73 mosques within the city. There are other reasons we all believe that Jerusalem is important, of course, but those are some. Here's Al Aqsa's Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Aqsa_Mosque This is why Jews want it: Quote: The Al-Aqsa mosque takes up part of the Temple Mount. Solomon built the first permanent Jewish temple where the mosque is located. This temple housed the Ark of the Covenant, and the 10 Commandments, both considered holy by the Jews. The temple also became the only legal place to have sacrifices. It is also on the location where Herod built the Second Temple. Various traditions exist about the location in Judaism. In rabbinical tradition it is the place where Adam was born, and built an altar to God. It is believed to be where Cain and Abel offered sacrifices to God, where Noah built an altar after the flood, and where Abraham intended sacrificing Isaac. Here's the Temple Mount's page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_Mount Okay, here we go! Quote: Though some Christians believe that the temple will be reconstructed before, or concurrent with, the Second Coming of Christ, the Temple Mount is largely unimportant to the beliefs and worship of most Christians. To wit, the New Testament recounts a story of a Samaritan woman asking Jesus about the appropriate place to worship, Jerusalem or the Samaritan holy place at Mt. Gerazim, to which Jesus replies, "neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father... But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth." So it's not all Christians, apparently.

XeroRyn i just want to post this.... lets pray for the safety of al-aqsa...... why they want to conquer it??? lets discuss the reason 1st.....al-aqsa is a great symbol of the 3 religion.... 2nd.....their is ancient treasure buried underneath further discussion respectively......we really is have the rights on al-aqsa i believe al-aqsa can be the symbol of unity...instead off segregation between religion Your right , Al- Aqsa should be for everyone , but the Muslims are the ones who should control this part of Palestine and all of Palestine
