People here generally have their fire pits surrounded by dirt (or situated in a patch of dirt) so the only thing that gets caught on fire is the meat. Besides, we don't have those little cute bbq things, we have those HUGE rusty iron bbq pits (the ones that take like... 5 men to move) or the ones that's made out of brick...
And vandalism...? Dry stuff doesn't have to do anything with scribbling on the walls or breaking into houses and stealing stuff.

We're not allowed to have fireworks of any kind in our town. But five miles over, fireworks are allowed, and they're for sale EVERYWHERE in the neighboring town. It doesn't help to promote law-abiding behavior.

That's how it is here. They go over to one of the neighboring counties and bring stuff over here to blow up.

My Dad had some saved up from Fourth of July last year, so for my birthday in March, we lit a few firecrackers and whatnot. It was really a blast, except that I was a little afraid the police would show up.

They didn't. biggrin
