Hrm, Kiyoshi isn't ideal for that plot because he doesn't let himself "fall in love" but he can end up incredibly possessive over her. He views mares as objects so if you wanted he could not necessarily fall in love but he could begin to think of her as "his".
That would mean that when she does fall in love and have her kids he'll be more enraged than heartbroken - he'd still be perfectly capable of knocking her about out of disgust, he just wouldn't be 'pained' by the loss of her.
