OberFeldwebel Just an odd question, has any manufacturer or designer tried making a lever action with some sort of fixed or box mag? I know I know, "then it's not a real lever action!@@2123@!" I'm just wondering. Freak_090 OberFeldwebel Well it's doing something for me. Not sure if it makes me want to be a storm trooper though. wink I'm not sure that I would want to be staring at a Storm Trooper mask while in bed... Hmm, true that. But that helmet does look a lot better than these.
Yeah, there were a few lever-actions fed by box magazines. But I can't think of any models off the top of my head.
And I always thought the pilot masks looked cool!

Inquisitor Brock OberFeldwebel Inquisitor Brock Winchester model 1895. Fixed mag, military rifle. Sold mostly to Russia. sad So they're rare then? Yep, you can find them though, but they're expensive.
How depressing. Oh well I guess I don't really want one then.

I'm probably too late for this, but I'll add in my 2 cents anyways. >.<
I'd personally reccomend a nice lever rifle in .454 Cassull. The .454 Cassull replicates the .45-70's ballistics, but it's pistol catridge sized, so you can have more rounds in the tube. But since it's also .45 Long Colt, you can have cheap, less-recoiling, plinking ammo. mrgreen
Legacy makes an affortable line that's in .454/.45. http://www.gunblast.com/Paco_Legacy_454.htm
Of course, you have to be over 21 to buy pistol ammo, but only 18 to buy the rifle. I dunno how old you are, soz.
Faux Edit: To my knowledge, cartridges like the .444, .450, and .458 SOCOM were meant to replicate the .45-70's ballistics, but are rimless so they'll have more reliable feeding in bolt action and semi-autos.

THe neat workaround is that it's going ot be used in a carbine, thus qualifying it as rifle ammunition, which means he needs to be 18, not 21.
Loophole!
In other news, NECRO!
