My Dad acted crazy like that when him and my Mom were still married back when I was younger.. Now he's just more annoying than anything. Anytime he calls he either wants to borrow my digital camera or bum money off me, but then he tries to turn around and tell me how I should live my life when yet he can't straighten out his own.

My father has the worst sense of humor andd he never shut up
if i do something wrong he smacks me accross the room and he belives in every stereo type
hes oposite of me and all of my interest and hated me for being goth
But other than that my dad is alright he's cheap he's egotistical he's ignorant but alright

It's called a midlife crisis...

It's generally triggered when a guys kids become teenagers...And they realise that their own lives didn't turn out how they thought they would when they were teenagers...

It's usually resolved by them buying a motorbike or a sportscar and pretending they're 18 again for a few years...Or at least until they realise how stupid a fat, balding 50 year old looks in a convertable...

Either way, you'll only have to put up with it for a few more years...They all mellow eventually...

That or they have a nervous breakdown...But by then, you'll have moved out and have the choice not to deal with the bullshit...

@ rabid bagel: i agree. my parents arent exactly disfunctional yet, but theyre pretty freakin close. i prefer them that way because then i know how not to act, and what i definately do not want to turn into. ex: all my rents smoke. they complain and always need a smoke break when were supossed to be out having fun. living with them i decided i am definately NEVER going to smoke. so its good. biggrin
