The pickyness doesn't really bother me. If he'll only eat medium sized-white with black and purple spots-raised on naturally bred tuna corn rats from Petco then, fine, I'll go to Petco and buy medium sized-white with black and purple spots-raised on naturally bred tuna corn rats. It's the fact that each rat costs nine bucks here.
Either I buy a $9 rat and feed him once or buy two $9 gerbils and feed him for as long as they'll breed. The latter seems to make the most sense.
