She waited patiently for his answer, her pale eyes following his as he tried to come up with an answer. Needing space was one thing, but if it made him so sad and left him all by himself.. that didn't seem very nice. If he was going to be all sad, he needed a distraction or someone else to play with so that he didn't get a chance to think about being sad.
"You can have your own space when she goes off for hers, then, can't you?" she asked with a smile, trying to look on the bright side, "Find something fun to do at least!" With a springy skip forward, Ally moved closer and sat down beside Fafnir.
"I'll keep you company until she comes back."

He paused at her question, thinking it over as she said it. At first, he simply stared at her with a tilted head, but then after a moment, a small grin spread across his maw. "Well, when you put it that way, I suppose you're right! If she can have her space, then I can have mine too." It was a shockingly easy revelation to make, though he wouldn't have thought about it himself without her - or even thought much of it without her. After all, what was having space without someone to make it fun?
"Well, if you'll keep me company, then I guess it will be okay until Loki comes home," he said happily, drawing himself up with a pleased smile. He didn't have many friends outside of his family, and he didn't really think many of them liked him without Loki there besides that. It was nice to feel like someone wanted to be his friend. He leaned over to look at her a bit, head tilted.

Now that Fafnir seemed to really cheer up, Ally felt much happier herself. She mimicked him when he leaned over to look at her, tilting her head when he tilted his and smiling.
"I'm easy to find, sometimes. Everybody knows where my family's den is, so if you want to play or you're by yourself you can check there," she said brightly, taking full advantage of having found herself a friend her own age- and perhaps being a bit excessively pushy about it. "But I like to wander around, and sometimes daddy shows me stuff. What do you like to do for fun?"

Her simple gesture in mimicking him made him laugh, his head shaking and causing the white mane tuft to flop about a little against his darker fur. It was nice to have a friend other than Loki, even if he missed her terribly. It was a new experience, but in no way an unwelcome one.
"Well, yes, I know where your den is," he hesitated, though, and flickered his tail a little. He was far too shy to just go marching up to her den (her father's den) and ask for her. He chewed at the inside of his cheek a little, pawing at the dirt again, and shifted uncomfortably. It wasn't that he didn't want to play with her, it was just that he didn't think he could go to the King's den like that. "I don't know if I could do that though," he said quietly, looking up at her sheepishly.
"Well, I don't know. I play games with Loki. We play pretend a lot, and we go on adventures," he trailed off, his uneasiness from the before still lingering there.

Alcmene was a bit disappointed by his rejection of her invitation, though she didn't let it bother her too much. She knew her family was high class and royalty, and though she didn't like it much herself, they could be intimidating. Everybody seemed to like them though, even her uncle Njiru hadn't shown her any evidence of disliking her daddy like he said. She was a friendly cub, but she was not perfect at understanding every perspective she came across.
"Well, you don't have to," she said, trying to think of a compromise, "If you don't want to ask, if you can just find me we can play or something. When you know who you're looking for, they're easier to find sometimes!" This she knew to be true from her own experience, once she had met Zizi, the lioness had been remarkably easier to pick out of a crowd. Not that they were very crowded here.
"That sounds like fun, we could do that if you wanted," she offered brightly.

He was glad that she didn't push the subject, because he was honestly far too intimidated by the idea of going up to the King's den. Even if he made it there, he wasn't sure he would be able to ask for her, especially if the king came out to ask him what he wanted. The thought alone made him want to shiver, and he quickly pushed it back down into the recesses of his mind.
"I think that would be better," he said with a weak smile, though it was becoming steadily stronger as she spoke. He liked the idea of having to find her, kind of like a game all by itself! "I think I could find someone that knew where you were anyway, I bet everyone notices you when you go somewhere." It was just an offhand comment, but probably very true. The king's daughter probably didn't escape attention easily.
"Yes, I think that would be great!" he exclaimed, happy now to be doing something he knew how to do. He let out a contented sigh, lowering himself down into a laying position, so he could talk to her more steadily, in a brain-storming position. "So, maybe there's a big bad dragon," he started, spinning out a tale as it came to his mind, flexing his shoulders for emphasis to show who he meant. His words became more confident as he went along, more enthused with what he was doing as he spun out the tale for her.
He could tell that they were going to have a great time playing until Loki got home, and he was already beginning to miss her less and less.
