Name: Zaliwa'ya Mwamba
Meaning: Born of Mwamba

History with the tribe: Zaliwa was born to Haraka, a descendant of the founder, Dhoruba, and the great mtawala Mwamba. He showed great promise as an ushujaa, and so he started training as a juvenile. Shortly after he was assigned, however, lions began to fall ill - just a few at first, but soon nearly every lion was seriously ill, or dead. Haraka, having already lost her mate, fled the valley with Zaliwa.
They returned several moons later to find the tribe in ruins. Only a few lions were still alive. To maximize their chances of survival, they all gathered in the Council area, working wtih each other and sharing tasks, very unlike the typical tribe traditions. The mtawala was old and frail, having been stricken by the disease and only just recovering, and so he named Zaliwa as his heir, knowing that the young adult was capable of the job.
Current Happenings: Zaliwa, usually grumpy and foul-tempered, has been in a great mood as of late. The tribe is flourishing with new blood and it seems that they have a solid future after all. Lately, he's been thinking about producing cubs of his own. He is the only living descendant of Dhoruba and Mwamba and feels very strongly about the line carrying on. However, there is only one lioness he feels would bear him suitable offspring, and their relationship has become somewhat... unpredictable.

Name: Kapienga
Meaning: Small, little
Gender: Female
History with the tribe: Kapienga is a direct descendant of Hudumu, which, in Zaliwa's eyes, is the only reason she's worth bothering with. She had always accepted his abuse with silent anger, but after seeing the outside world, she has become more confident in herself and has been causing more trouble with her owner.
Current Happenings: It seems as though she's planning some sort of revolution... and who knows, maybe she is.
