Personality:

This wild dog is as sweet as they come. She is all love, all the time. It is her goal to create a family for herself, since she never had one of her own. Blood, species, gender: these things don't really matter to her. She loves everyone, and firmly believes that everyone has love inside them, even if they're not as free to show it as she is. Growing up she has always been naive, but now it might be that she just appears that way in her relentlessly happy existence.

She has strong maternal instincts and finds herself wanting a family through blood, just as much as she does through friendship and random chance. Unfortunately, she doesn't know how to distinguish the joy she takes in meeting any one from that feeling you're supposed to get when you meet the 'right' one.

Energetic to a fault, she can literally spend a day running around in a circle, and sometimes only goes to sleep when she just passes out from exhausting herself. She is very talkative, and rarely sequitur, voicing every thought that comes to her head the moment it gets there, without a chance for it to hit a filter. Not that she has one. Full of curiosity and a source of never ending questions, she loves to learn about things... even if she tends to forget about, or lose interest in, them shortly after. Sometimes Laika is the master of the obvious. Other times, she is oblivious to everything but the most obscure details.

She likes to show affection with headbutts.

If she has experienced heartbreak she doesn't show it, so catching her in a sad mood and actually realizing it are two very different things.

History:
May or may not be in chronological order

Laika doesn't have much a history before she made the decision to collect herself a family. As a pup she was just wandering around the rogue lands, without a home or any parents to care for her. If she remembers what happened to them, or why she was alone, she never talks about it. There's a good chance, however, that she's just blocked it from her memory and moved on to happier things.

She met a young pup named Suika and the two decided they, since neither had a family, would be brother and sister. From then on she collected a number of various family members, all of whom she loves endlessly and will never miss an opportunity to see again if it comes up. But creatures wander and life paths deviate: she knows she can't keep everyone together, but that doesn't mean she can't always call them family.

Laika considers the big, fluffy male lion named Mito to be her father. Meeting him had been a surprise to both of them. He was taking a nap in the sun, she was barreling across the Savannah with her eyes closed. After plowing into an alarmingly furry rock monster, she magically found herself with a new daddy. He calls her his little Flower. She lived with him through her juvenile and most of her adolescent life before finding a small little place nearby his den. Now she lives in a grass patch between a rock and a tree, with a water source behind her. She had to move the rock to make room for some guests to stay with her.

Later, she met a nervous lion named Apollo, who was battling feelings of love for a leopardess when he ran into the rambunctious pup. Or rather, she interrupted his hunt by chasing off all the prey beasts in the area in her efforts to make friends. She did manage to make a new brother in Apollo, though. She was so energetic in their meeting that she all but passed out and he carried her back to her little spot. She fell to sleep hugging his nose and telling him she loved him. Eventually she met that leopardess Apollo had fallen in love with, and through extended family found herself another sister. And this one had a pink coat, just like her.

And so it went. Her next adopted sibling was a young leopon female named Yi, who was a seer. They met when Laika was trying to dig to the center of the earth. That didn't pan out, but Laika did teach Yi how to fish, a lesson she had learned for her daddy. In her adolescence she met Eusi and, after rolling down hills together, the two became sisters. Later, Eusi and Laika reunited as adults and Laika met two of her sister's pups, Waka and Kidege. They rolled down some more hills together. Later, Laika taught her daddy how to roll down hills, though they both quickly learned that the big, round male was not cut out for such games when he got dizzy and nearly bowled her over. When she met a wild dog male, Pebble, who had a youthful and energetic personality to match hers she had a ton of fun with him, but failed to ask him to be her brother. Laika also met the sad, though friendly, wild dog Tumai, who agreed to be called her Aunt. Jaha, another friendly lion, became her magical Uncle after the two played games with his tail. He stayed with her in her little den, and later introduced her to the lioness that would be his mate, Hadiya.

She did run in to some creatures who did not want to be her friends, or join her family, like the lion Ukivu. He ended up attacking and hurting her, but Mito found her and nursed her back to health. The incident did absolutely nothing to change her opinion about love and being nice to everyone. She also once met the God of Clouds, though she still believes she was literally talking to a cloud that had just dropped down too low.
