XxXZero_BeatXxX yeeeaaa.... well if I wasnt a muslim honestly i would suspect something about a muslim and explosives....so yea Well that's just you. Bomb sniffer dogs don't care what religion you are, they care about the scent that smells like a bomb/chemical explosion.
After seeing enough of domestic terrorism from people who aren't muslims in the US, i've learned that bombs travel with whomever.

Bismillah ---
Correction: In my previous post I said Najasa is to be unclean. Well, it's not. It's what you can't do prayers with, or touch Quran. And it's the oppisite of Tahara. Like, najis water, we're not allowed to wodoo' with. If anyone doesn't understand, feel free to ask.
--- Salam

--- Salam Explain. Especially when you have Muslims angry at a puppy dog in a picture of a Scottish police ad. Click on the pic if you're wondering what I'm talking about.

Absurd Thought rolleyes yet dogs save so many human lives....
What animals are not bad for muslims to keep since you have a cleanliness issue? stare stuffed animals? : digital pets?
I have yet to meet animals that meet perfectly clean standards. They're animals after all.Actually, it is scientifically proven a dog's mouth is cleaner than a human. We have more living bacteria ^^

Whatever happened to the values of humanity, Whatever happened to the fairness in equality...
Read this, my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters, and of course any others who are interested in this topic. ^^ I myself have been intrigued by this subject myself, so I've searched high and low to get these answers. Read it. =D
The fuqahaa’ are agreed that it is not permitted to keep a dog unless it is for a purpose, like hunting or guarding property or other uses that are not contrary to the Sharee’ah. The Prophet (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever keeps a dog, except a dog for herding, hunting or farming, his reward will decrease by one qiraat every day."
As far as keeping a dog to guard the house is concerned, Ibn Qudaamah said: "It is not permitted, according to the most sound opinion." [al-Mawsoo’ah al-Fiqhiyyah, 35/124]
As regards the najaasah (impurity) of the dog, the Shaafi’i and Hanbali ‘ulamaa’ say that the whole dog is essentially naajis (impure). Some scholars say that any liquid excreted by the dog is naajis (not the dog itself). The saliva of the dog is extremely naajis, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "If a dog licks the vessel of any one of you, let him throw away whatever was in it and wash it seven times.".
Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "The way to purify the vessel of any one of you if a dog has licked it is to wash it seven times, the first time with earth."
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) explained: "Whoever keeps a dog, his good deeds will decrease every day by one qeeraat (a unit of measurement), unless it is a dog for farming or herding." According to another report: ". . . unless it is a dog for herding sheep, farming or hunting."
It is forbidden in Islaam to sell a dog and to receive payment for it, as is reported in Saheeh al-Bukhaari from Abu Mas’oud al-Ansaari: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade (accepting) the price of a dog. [al-Fath, no. 2237]
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told us not to resemble dogs by placing our forearms on the ground during sujood (prostration), as in reported in the hadeeth narrated by Anas ibn Maalik, according to which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Do sujood properly; none of you should spread his forearms like a dog does." [al-Bukhaari, Fath, no. 822].
Whoever keeps a dog in his house is denied the blessing of the angels’ presence in his house, as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog." [Reported by al-Bukhaari, 3225].
Keeping dogs nowadays is the habit of the kuffaar, who adopt them as friends, kiss them, let them lick them and their clothes, sleep with them and even leave them money in their wills. Keeping a dog is an imitation of the kuffaar. Some Muslims may claim that they need to keep a dog at home for purposes of protection, to which we respond that nowadays there are burglar alarm systems and other measures one may take for security purposes, and there is no need to keep a dog, praise be to Allaah.
We must ensure that Muslims continue to be averse to dogs, even in the midst of what the kuffaar are used to do and what some Muslims have adopted of their habits.
Also, may I add, that (in the way pigs are haraam in Islam) that the largest reason dog's are generally not allowed is due to hygiene. Hasn't it been proved that pigs help to carry many diseases occupying this world today? I mean, recently around my area Swine Flu has been spreading like crazy, and I'm personally terrified of getting it. In the way pigs spread virus and disease, dogs can too. The most common ways of dog-->human disease transfer is the dogs urine and waste, which the pet owner cleans up. In the way the forbiddance of pig meat had been introduced to us in Islam, and proved to be a worthwhile decision, in the same way, the forbiddance of dogs may prove to be beneficial too.
Anyways, that was just my reply to why dogs aren't allowed, I completely understand if police find it neccessary for dogs to sniff out bombs, however, I have to stress the point that I think they should only use them in the most extreme conditions, as for a Muslim to even touch a dog...well, they'll have to go through the entire wud'hu process to cleanse themselves properly in the eyes of Allah.
☻/ /▌ / Az says hello!~
Instead of spreading love we're spreading animosity, Lack of understanding, leading lives away from unity...
