Here is even more of a challenge: translate Final
Fantasy Epic "LOVELESS" in German.

On a side note: has anyone noticed that German
voice actors seem to fit .hack// characters more
than English; .hack//LotTB is a perfect example
of this.

Well if you look at the story the background setting is german wasn't Harald the creator of the world, german , so it would be best if the the german voice actor would fit better than english right

sadly i only have this part from the original epitaph....

shunning the field

broken by Wave,

the shadowed girl whispers,

"shurely, i will return."

alas, the truth unbeknownst,

awaiting her at journey's end;

eternal mourning for her land.

i use to have the rest of it but i lost it in a move T,.,T

i found it! biggrin

Fragment 0
Shunning the field broken by Wave.
The shadowed girl whispers,
"Surely, I will return."
Alas, the truth unbeknownst.
Awaiting her at journey's end;
Eternal mourning for her land.

Fragment 1
When the finger points to the
yonder moon,
The fool will not look at the fingertip.

Fragment 2
The whole cannot be changed.
We have already lost that chance.
Because the time left to us was short,
We were mistaken in our path.
But now do we realize,
We should change not the whole,
But the parts.

Fragment 3
Wave soars and shrouds the eyes.
No means to fight an omnipresent force,
The shadowless ones just grieve.
Why must it be a Wave?
Divide, if it would just...
Then retaliate, we may.

Fragment 4
Over the Keel Mountains,
Meets an ape with human speech.
The ape asks,
"What clings to you?
Bear it - you cannot.
Accept it - you cannot.
But hidden - it is from you.
Recite its name."

*Note: The answer is "your shadow--your own darkside." But since the riddle is to "recite its name", you are supposed to say your own name.

I'm going to feel like total retard for asking this, but I always wonder about this and I always get a mind ******** Emma was a real woman right? The people that made the .Hack series didn't just make her up and write that long a** poem right? XD because it always ******** with me when I think about it.

Um, no, I don't think Emma Weilant was real. I think they made it up. After all, no signs of the poem have been on the Internet and there was no Pluto's Kiss to wipe it away.
If she was real, that would be...dang, that would be amazing.

Yeah that's what I thought. I still think its amazing they actually took the time to write that WHOLE poem just for the series. That's why I wondered if she was real or not. I never thought someone would actually put that much work into something like that, all for an anime/manga/video game XD that's some dedication right there.

I think that they actually just wrote each fragment to suit the games and the whole poem being lost thing is an excuse both for the awesome plot and for the fact that no one knows the full poem and they don't have to write a full, huge epic.
