So I was reading GUNS magazine earlier this morning, and they had a four-page article on the Px4. Said the damn thing was the bee's knees, and they test-fired about 2000 rounds through one, TRYING to make it jam, limp-wristing and using muddy magazines, and it cycled 2000 rounds flawlessly; no jams, no misfires. They also said it has nice big fat sights that are really easy to see. It's about $100 cheaper than an XDM too.

Wow, this gun sounds like it pwns.
Too bad it doesn't capture my eye.

For it to do that it would have to be all steel and in blued.

Personally I say go with an SA XDM-9.

Won pistol of the year twice, and 19+1 rounds of 9mm. 'Nuff said.

That was my original choice. Though I think it's 16+1, not 19+1. Are you sure? I know there's extender plates for the Storm mags to make them hold... was it 19, 20, or 21? I don't remember.

Like I said, I prefer hammer-fired to striker-fired. I don't care for the XD's grip safety or its generally blocky shape. And you're not able to get spare parts for it--you have to ship it to the factory to get fixed. Also more expensive.

EDIT: The Storm also has changeable backstraps, mag releases, and slide catches of different sizes for a perfect fit where the XD you get is pretty much the XD it's going to be forever.

The only cons I've seen for the Storm are supposedly stubborn magazines and a long traveling distance for the breech. (Meaning you have to pull it back a longer way than normal.)

I haven't noticed either of those.

Anyways; I'd say you should buy it.

It sounds ambidextrous, and just right for you. I'd like it if the slid release was in a different location, but that's just me.

The XD(m) 9mm is a slightly different pistol that the SA XD9. The Reg XD9 is 15+1, the XD(m) is 19 + 1 its beautiful... I cant wait till it comes out in .45

it'll win. naturally...

I like the XDm. I just wish Springfield Arms released a 40 and a 45 at the same time as the 9

You're thinking of the regular XD. Springfield makes two, the XD and the XD-M. The M is the better model, with a match grade trigger, barrel, and higher capacity magazine. The M, like the Px4 or the S&W MP series (which i would reccommend you take a look at as well) also comes with interchangeable backstraps.

As far as preferring a hammer over a striker, maybe this gun's not for you. I was in the same boat; I was strictly a 1911 guy, and it took me a while to warm up to the XD, but once I shot it I fell in love with it.

I've shot the Px4, and it's a good gun. Shoots straight, fits the hand well, and in my opinion, the rotating barrel design looks pretty cool by itself. Go online and read some reviews, see what others have to say about the gun.

I have indeed read reviews and so far no one has said much negative about it. One person complained of bad accuracy or something, but I thought the claims as unfounded.

Supposedly the Storm also has sights with illuminating paint... though sadly not tritium, just glow-in-the-dark pain that needs to charge with light and onjly works about half an hour on a charge. But that's better than plain white paint.

Why did n't I look at the price at Academy?
