I gave my mom a ring a few years back for Christmas: white gold, amethyst ring, because her other amethyst ring lost the stone in it. (She's a February baby, btw.)
Fazzey helped me with this prank. We bought one of those cheap ring boxes that are shaped like roses, and took the fake ring out of it, put the real ring into it, re-wrapped it up, and then put the fake ring in the real ring box, and wrapped that up like the jewelery store had done it.
Christmas day was fun. >3
