Kitambi too was watching the pair of them. She hoped that this development would change their current situation, but so far things weren't looking too good. Maybe if she could somehow convince Mtembei to chase this guy off she wouldn't have to be his mate. Then perhaps she and her sister could share Mtembei. It didn't sound like such a bad idea. Might as well bring some Hasana blood into the Nchi.

"Is that his name? Must be Mtembei's father. They do look a lot alike. He's got his father's stripes and his mother's bright purple," she mused idly, before glancing sideways at her sister. "He didn't specify the gender of the lion we had to look at. It could be me and you." Years of deadpanning were suddenly worth it. There was no way anybody else could have pulled that off with a straight face.

There was no word in any language to properly express the expression Waseme had. It was sort of gawking, sort of in shock, sort of horrified, sort of about twenty other things all mixed into one. That kind of look your mother warned would result in your face being stuck that way for ever except not even close. It did look stuck though.

Waseme had never been one to make such fast decisions no matter who was involved. Until now. The queen span back to face the other two and screamed, "BANJI! SHE LOVES YOU!"

Yup, that was about the expression she had imagined on her sister's face. How else can you respond to being told that you are potentially mated to your sister? Pretty much like that. It was good to know that she had the Incest Is Not Best face down in her imagination. However seeing it was another thing entirely. And she was not expecting what came next.

For a moment Kitambi could only sputter, unable to think of anything to say. Without giving it any thought finally yelled, "MTEMBEI! WASEME SNORES!" Take that!

"WHAT?!" Nobility be damned. That b***h had to pay! Waseme launched at her sister and smacked--bitchslapped, if you will--her across the face.

The conversation with his reunited father, no matter how temporary it may be, Mtembei would place as the most important one of his life. It was stunning, to say the least, that it could be interrupted by anything. But he was staring at the shouting, cat fighting (no pun intended) sisters with his full attention.

And, so was Banji.

"...Which of us are they fighting over?"

"...I...don't know..."

Nobility be damned indeed! Waseme wasn't allowed to tell old men that a young girl like her liked them! That was even worse than incest! Everyone knew that once a male had his share of litters he was just going to fall into oblivion in favour of breeding his children! Banji was nearing that point and she was not going to be shacked up with some old lion who was the father of her ex-mate.

At the bitchslap there was a sudden pause, as though Kitambi wasn't quite sure what (or who, rather) had hit her. Then, her eyes narrowed. Oh it was on. Screw keeping her cool, Waseme was going the right way for two bitchslaps! Using both paws! And that is exactly what Kitambi did. There were times it was good to have men blocking the passage. That way her mother couldn't find this.

Waseme was shocked that Kitambi had honestly hit her back. It was a rule that you shouldn't hit if you weren't ready to get hit back, but... But this was Kitambi. The less attractive (which in all fairness wasn't saying much) of the siblings snarled and the true cat fight started there.

"Uh, excuse you."

The force was not strong with Mtembei like it was with Banji. He was the one of them stupid enough to look away and behind him at the impatient Sen not too pleased to find her path blocked by anyone. Banji, on the other hand, knew that whatever was behind them couldn't be as dangerous as what was infront of him. So he kept his eyes there.

Sen sat back and lifted herself up on her hind legs like young goddesses were prone to for a reason she finally understood. It was to see girl fights.

"Ohoh! Scratch her eyes out!"

It could have been her daughters and she'd still have been cheering from the sidelines. Or a daughter and Zixin. She always wondered about that kid.

It was also a general rule that Kitambi didn't hit anybody. She couldn't honestly remember having hit her sister in her life despite the verbal battles they had got into. But this... this was different. Waseme had totally started this and Kitambi was totally going to finish it. As quickly as she could so she could go back home and hopefully avoid that Banji guy. Mkodi could send her a dream if she was thwarting fate that much.

"You started this one. I was just finishing it." An ear swivelled towards Sen at the sound of her voice but she refused to take her eyes off her sister. This was a battle despite having only hit each other once. Perhaps she should be the better lioness and end it. But then what to do about Banji? It was a predicament.

"Besides, weren't you here with that guy for a reason?"

"What's it to you?" Waseme snarled. She'd only been leading Banji back out so there wasn't any logical reason to be so hissy about it. Logic had little place when it came to this duo.

"NSU HEY! YOUR GIRLS ARE BITCHFIGHTING UP HERE!" Sen called down the opposite end of the path. She hadn't expected anything exciting when they were making rounds back here just to see how things were going before they dared venture anywhere truly far.

--Oh, wait.

"Aren't you guys the queens? I think you're suppose to be more dignified to be a good queen." She assumed so. Since she was a bad one and she didn't have that quality. "What're you fighting over? This old guy and this queer?"

"Because you were obviously doing something before I got here and now you've stopped. So I think you should finish one thing before you get started on something else." That, and she wanted Waseme to escort Banji to wherever she had been escorted him. The further away he was when they were finished this little fight the better. Then she might be able to return home in peace.

"WHAT WHAT?" Nsundu called back, having paused to study a peculiar coloured flowered on the path. It looked as though one of the Mtai flowers had taken root here and was starting to grow. Interesting. But more interesting was the fight between her daughters. "WHO'S WINNING?" She asked, making her way down the path towards Sen. That was all that was really important here.

Sen's question caused Kitambi's face to return to neutral as she attempted to compose herself. "No, just something small. It's done though."

"I DON'T KNOW!" Sen yelled back. She had to agree with Banji what was before them was much more worth the eye strain than anything else. She didn't bother looking back to see where Nsundu was and didn't notice when she ended up yelling in her ear.

Waseme didn't say anything which was more worrisome than anything she might of shot back at Kitambi. Her tail swayed in an agitated way. Finally, she sneered at her sister. "I was taking him back to the rogue lands. Just what were you doing?"

"I... can find my way out from here," Banji interrupted, making a move to weave around the horde of women and to sweet, sweet freedom.

"Aaaw," Nsundu moaned as she got closer. Sen had front row seats! She was supposed to know who was winning! Apparently the lioness had great faith that they wouldn't kill each other in an epic battle for love. Well, even if they did do that, it would be a lot more exciting that them fighting over who snored and who didn't. That was just plain boring. Her attention was pulled from the fight when she spotted Banji, who she grinned at brightly. "Hello Banji! Long time no see! Were you just leaving?"

"I see." Kitambi had returned to her usual neutral tones, trying desperately to stay way from curt. She had to be the bigger lioness. She had to try even if bitchslapping her sister felt so good. "We were just walking. But I think our walk is over anyways. If you'll excuse me."

Waseme was glad to "excuse her" sister. She growled after her as she left, nearly bowled over by Mtembei who made a dash after her like a child whose parent was ignoring them. "Kitambi, wait!" She was too preoccupied by that to notice Banji nod silently to Nsundu and get the hell out of there as quickly as he could.

When she turned back only Waseme and Sen were back. "Pardon me," she grumbled, heading back to her own pride to brood and being angry.

Sen watched all of them leave silently. "Well, I think they're doing fine so far. How's going to harass the vampires sound?"

Kitambi was more than glad to leave her sister there. She picked up a pace that was barely considered fast enough to be impolite, but at this point she could hardly care. An ear flicked backwards at Mtembei's cry but she chose to ignore it. They would settle this when she returned home to her own lands.

"Sounds like a plan," Nsundu replied amiably.
