I liked Silence of the Lambs, but it's hard to get anyone to watch it with me. But Hellsing's a winner, and my sister will watch it (She' loves vampires) as long as it's day light.

It's a famous experimental, surreal film made by David Lynch on a budget of $10,000. Considered one of the greatest cult films of all time, the black-and-white pseudo-horror film follows a printer whose slum life grows increasingly abnormal.

Christ, I've been wanting to see Eraserhead for ages. I'm a fan of David Lynch (Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive were fantastic, INLAND EMPIRE and Blue Velvet less so, but still awesome).

Other personal favourites of mine: Memento, Fight Club, The Ring, Cloverfield, Mirrormask, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Noroi.

Just as a warning, the DVD has a visual adjustment screen just before the menu comes up. If your TV can't handle the adjustments, many of the scenes end-up becoming too dark to see everything that's going on (as I learned from taking it to a friend's house).

Have you seen Dark City? Same director: Alex Proyas. He's just come out with "Knowing" - which looks questionable (due to the Nicholas Cage factor) however, Dark City, is totally awesome. To me it was like watching one big long epic episode of Doctor Who, and the special effects were just so incredibly vintage and cool. I love that stuff.

The Crow was pretty good too =)
