Vu is growing from a boisterous cub into a stoic and stand-offish young lion. He still believes that the best way to show his loyalty to Mrost is to fight. Rarely gentle in speech or in play, he comes off as rude, rough, and sometimes even mean – and he has embraced the way others think about him. Although he seems serious most of the time, he is actually extremely passionate about his training, his friends, and his family. To those who know him well, he is the most fiercely loyal friend they will ever have. He even shows them his playful side, the part of him that others don’t see often anymore. Deep down, Vu is an idealist and a dreamer. He's smarter than he looks, but he doesn't know it yet.
Imara, Mrost and Mufasa are his biggest inspirations. As he’s grown more independent, his father’s opinions have started to mean less and less to him. His personal experiences have already taught him far more about life, friendship and challenges than his father ever did, but he still works hard to earn Ghilt’s respect.
...The Story...
One of the largest territories in the vicinity of the Great Rift Valley, encompassing nearly four great lakes, miles of lush rolling grassland and crowned with what is arguably one of the most impressive natural structures on the Serengeti, the humbly named Pride Rock, the Pridelands is a paradise. When Vu was born there, the middle child of six cubs spawned from the loveless pairing of Imara and Ghilt, times were peaceful. Rather than indulge her cubs in the pride’s good years, Imara raised her cubs to be warriors and worshipers of the War God, Mrost, with scarce help from her mate.
More than any of his siblings, Vu longed for a father’s presence in his young life. When he finally managed to gain some father-son time, his father’s harsh criticism left him in a state of shock and hurt. Ghilt’s scorn solidified his desire to become a great warrior and transformed a clumsy and brash cub into a stern and calloused adult. Or so it might have seemed…

When one of her siblings is hurt, upset or in trouble, Xenia will usually be the first on the scene with kind words and an open heart. She takes satisfaction from comforting others. Like most cubs her age she is playful, though perfectly happy to lay back and enjoy a shady tree, curious and ready for adventure. She is a little shy of strangers, especially adults.
While inexperienced at standing up for herself, Xenia is bold in her defense of others. Should she ever catch one of her siblings tormenting a little bug she won’t hesitate to give them a good swat over it, before picking the bug up in her teeth and whisking it off to safety. She hates letting go of things she cares about. She’s constantly bringing home critters to take care of. Right now her favorite animals are squirrels, mice, birds, lizards, hares, and all manner of bugs, even spiders. When she doesn't get her way she usually breaks down and cries. For such a caring cub she has difficulty apologizing for her bad behavior and rarely admits that anything she does is wrong. She’s generally even tempered and chooses her words carefully.
...The Story...
All little Xexe knows about her mother she learned from her nana. She was a pink leopardess with a peculiar manner of speaking, and she loved all her children very much. Of her father, Xenia knows nothing except that he was a lion. For the time being this little leopon is more concerned with making new friends, climbing trees and enjoying life in the safety of the Achana Coalition. Her mute brother, Adonis, is her best friend. She speaks for him by reading the ‘language’ of his eyes.

Koka’s life experiences have hardened her character to the desert. She believes that nothing is worth owning if you haven’t earned it, which is why she chose to remain in the desert while her mother and sister headed toward a land of grass. She also has a strong desire to be in control of her environment, despises sloppiness and always keeps her den orderly and neat. Not much of an admirer of natural beauty, she explores only to learn the lay of the land, the locations of watering holes, shade, and the patterns of prey. Koka is a lioness with a plan for everything.
A strong individual, she loves the company of others. Ideally she would like to have a large group of friends with one or two that she knows she can count on and feels extremely close to, for as tough as she is she has never underestimated the strength that draws from having a shoulder to lean on. She is eternally focused on the present and rarely thinks farther ahead than tomorrow. She is torn between her desire for cubs and the fear that she will lose most of her cubs to the desert, just as her mother lost most of her cubs.
...The Story... Koka has been on the run her whole life. Her mother, Hurizima, resembled a Pridelander with her golden pelt and faint black and tan markings, although she's said to hail from lands further south. Zima escaped to the desert after becoming pregnant by Dhalim, an abusive white lion with a red slash beneath his eye.
After hearing tales of a fearsome pride thriving in the desert Zima assumed that her mate would be too afraid to follow, and if life in the desert were possible for an entire pride surely a single mother and her offspring could survive, at least long enough to outwit Dhalim. By hiding during the day and following the scent trails of other desert creatures Zima eventually found her way to a small oasis, where she gave birth to a large litter. Sadly, most of the cubs would not survive their first weeks of life. Zima too struggled to survive. The oasis was small and held little food, but Zima feared her children would not survive the necessary trip over the dunes to find more fertile land.
The shrinking family clung to life for weeks in the sheltering oasis. One night a cold desert wind blew the scent of Dhalim to their refuge. Having no other choice, Zima gathered up her remaining cubs and fled. Along the way the family struggled for every scrap of food and water. They eventually crossed paths with a heard of ibex. Rather than waste her strength trying to hunt, Zima realized that their knowledge of desert life would benefit her more in the long run than a single meal, if she could even take one on her own, and approached the ibex instead, calmly explaining her story and asking for help. The ibex took pity on the family and gave them what help they could. They explained that they were traveling to an oasis, larger than the last one Zima had seen, where they could rest, and offered to show the way, provided she promised not to hunt any of them. Zima agreed.
Her wise decision proved to be life saving. This oasis was indeed much larger than the previous one, even supporting fish, reptiles and small mammals for Zima to eat, and by allowing the family to walk in their shadows out of direct sunlight the ibex even saved her cubs from perishing along the journey. At the oasis the ibex offered further advice for Zima. They told her what little they knew about the Firekin. One mentioned that a few of Zima’s cubs were blessed with something close to the proper coloring. Even Zima might be able to join the pride, if she could convince the Firekin she was one of their own. The possibility intrigued her.
Zima stayed at the oasis with her cubs until they were old enough to better endure the harshness of the desert before the family set out for Firekin territory. Only three cubs remained; one boy, Fufukamoto (Be Reborn from Fire), and two girls Kokabiata (Light a Fire in the Desert) and Jiweteka Maji (Draw Water from a Stone). A male Firekin spotted them from a distance and started to charge, forcing them to flee behind the dunes and out of Firekin territory. They stopped for a short rest, only to be surprised by the re-appearance of Dhalim and forced to run again.
When the family was older Zima encountered an ex-Firekin lioness making her way out of the desert. Finding it more difficult to care for three growing children, Zima sent her boy to go with the lioness. Her two daughters grew into adolescence, still fleeing their abusive father. Fed up with running, the daughters convinced Zima to turn and fight Dhalim. With the help of her daughters, they finally disposed of their abusive father.
Afterward, Koka’s sister decided to leave the desert with Zima, eager to experiance a world of grass and trees. Koka followed at first, but in time it became clear that the desert had become a part of her. The thought of leaving, even for a supposedly better world, filled her with sorrow. After a bitter sweet good bye the family parted ways. Upon returning to the desert Koka met a lion by the name of Vanhi who told her of the Firekin's civil war and the foundation of a new pride, the Simo. Koka is now focused on joining their ranks.
