Alcmene was surprised when she daringly asked if they could meet again to discuss anything they found out. She felt a flutter of excitement in her stomach, she was starting to feel quite isolated and it was nice to have friends. She didn't even mind that aside from Fafnir and Zizi's cubs, she seemed to have an easier time with the older lions. Like Zizi, someone Ally considered to be one of her better friends.
"Sure," she answered cheerfully, the change in her tone quite evident, "I wasn't really going anywhere specific tonight, I can take a look around myself now!"

That, honestly, wasn't what he expected. Regardless, he was thrilled! She seemed to be happier as well, even if he did over step his bounds. Hopefully he'd be able to apologize to her in the future for it, but he was too happy to really think that far ahead.
His tail twitched. "That'd be great!" he said happily. "Is there a certain direction you want to look?" He didn't think he should search right next to her, but if they weren't too far apart they'd find each other easily enough if they found this flower of mystery.

"I don't know," she said thoughtfully, looking around them, "Have you checked towards the mountains? Or near any of the water? Maybe they need something specific, and those are the most different areas we have." She didn't know as much about plants as her sister or the Shaman, or possibly even the lion she couldn't remember, but she knew enough about their lands to guess where the ground might be different, the air, the water.. plants needed all of those, maybe this kind needed something specific.

He smiled sheepishly. "Honestly....this is the first place I started." When he did start it was just after the sun set. Now, they were way past that point now.
"Hmm....I wonder if by a water source would be better...there's usually more flowers where there's more water." His tail twitched as he peered around. Futile, as it was too dark to be able to see if there was any water around.
He sorta knew what he was talking about, but not completely. Though, anything would help!
"I don't know...where some water is though," he said with a shy laugh. He had been living here for a while, but he still...didn't really know where everything was. Smart.

"Well, you have to start somewhere," she said brightly, stepping closer now that they were working together to try to find out if such a flower existed. She blinked when he admitted to not knowing where the water was, it was an unusual thing. You needed water, to a certain extent. Maybe he needed to get out more, too.
"Well, there are the smaller waterholes," she said, hoping he knew at least where they were, "But everybody is around those a lot, they might not be worth looking into. On the northeast border is a river, though. Maybe there."

Oh, well. He knew about one water hole, but he was a lion of odd habit, and gravitated to only that one when he felt thirsty. His ear twitched as the thoughts of water drifted away. Now it was alll on the flower.
"Sounds like a good plan," he agreed, stretching out his forelimbs for a bit. No time to be sitting around anymore, especially when they had a plan!
"Ah...since...I'm not totally sure where to go, I hope you won't mind leading the way?" Ugh, look at him! Asking for so many favours! He hoped that they would find these flowers, if only because Alcmene deserved to get something after everything he felt he was putting her through. He prayed to the moon in the sky that they would.

"Sure, I don't mind," she said brightly, not nearly as concerned about class implications at this point because.. she was happily distracted. So long as she was not offended, and she wasn't, it shouldn't be an issue so she didn't make it into one. She was happy to have someone to talk to and something fun to do.
"Now, where exactly are we now?" she asked herself out loud, glancing around to figure out exactly which direction they needed to go. It only took her a moment before she turned to the right way, "This way!"

Zangu wasn't sure exactly where, so he was glad that she knew. He was pretty much a failure when it came to knowing his locations and directions, even with a pretty good nose. At least the pride was growing more familiar to him so he didn't get lost too much.
He plopped after her, a smile on his face as he kept his face forward to where they were going. Hopefully, if everything he had heard was true (which isn't always true), the should be able to see a small glow from the moon's light. All he did was hope~! But at least he was having a good adventure for the night.

After jogging quite a ways, they found the banks of the river. She didn't know exactly what she was looking for, but nothing stood out yet. Ally leaned over by the edge of the river, smiling. She was careful, though, knowing better than to lean over too far. She tended to get herself into trouble that way, and she couldn't do that anymore.
"I don't see anything, do you?" she asked, "We can follow the river, I think I know roughly where it stops being in our lands. We might see a guard around somewhere, though." It was quite lucky they hadn't been spotted by someone yet, though. There weren't too many guards but they got the job done.

His white ears swiveled around as his eyes searched as well. "I thought....that they would be here." He felt quite disheartened. "Perhaps they are only best set in stories of fantasy." His tail drooped as he looked over at Aclmene, feeling let down. Damn.
He shook his head. "Nothing." He sighed shallowly. "I'm not sure where else to look...if you'd like to check the river, I'd be happy to go with you, my queen." There's no way he'd leave her out here alone, even with guards around. His tail twitched at that. He had better manners than to abandon.
"If we do run into a guard, we might want a better story than chasing after moon flowers," he said with a chuckle. He didn't know how well that would go over with the more serious guard types.

Alcmene looked over at Mwenzangu, frowning when he spoke up and sounded so disappointed about it. She felt bad that they were not able to find anything, even if they stopped looking here for now, she would keep looking. She didn't like to disappoint, even if it wasn't her fault. He was being very kind, if she could find something like this then she would!
She knew what he was getting at when he offered to go with her up the river, he didn't necessarily want to keep going. He did say he might not last the whole night, so it wasn't too surprising. However, she could have kept going.. but she didn't want to drag him along.
"We don't need any story," she reminded him with a small smile, "I'm the queen and you're, um, one of the higher classes if I remember. All the guards are below me and most below you. If you're done for the night, we can head back." It would ease his conscience and there was no way to know where she went again once they parted ways. She had been off on her own before she ran into him anyway.

His ears perked up for a moment before they sunk back down. "You're right," he said with a soft chuckle. "Ah, upper middle, yes." His tail perked up at that. He hadn't expected to be in such a high class. He had to admit that it did have it's perks at times.
He slowly lifted his head up, a smile starting to return to his face. "If you don't mind. Or I can return myself...." even if he hated to. He knew the guards were out there, but he had never been completely trusting of the world outside. He had lost his previous home almost suddenly, when everyone disappeared. He didn't want anything like that to happen here, especially to such a young queen.
"Perhaps we can search another night, when we have more of a search plan set out?" They were sort of running without direction at the moment.

She considered his offer to go back on his own. It wasn't wrong to expect that she could just send him on his way, she had the authority to make those decisions for herself.. only she did not exercise such powers, especially while she was still adjusting and trying to give off a good impression, to prove she was a good queen and not a foolish adolescent that the former king would later regret allowing into the throne so early. So, while it was tempting to stick around and let him go back by himself, it wasn't the smart move to make. It kind of killed the fun she was having, but that was inevitable.
"There is more to the river, we can take a look another night," she agreed, turning to indicate she would go back the way they came.

Relief. He thanked the moon and stars above. At least he wouldn't worry this night, and he would sleep well. Heck, his dreams might even be filled with these blasted flowers that he couldn't find. Sigh.
He perked up as he allowed himself to get a little closer to her, ready to return back.
"I apologize. Hopefully we will find them some night." And it would be a real treat, he was sure of it.

"We'll keep looking," she added with a smile, "They might not always be in bloom, we'll know more if we ask around I think." She started on their way back towards the central lands. Once they were a safe distance in, she could leave Zangu without his worrying. Then she could go and see who was awake to talk to about it.. maybe.
