If he'd been in need of cheering up, this certainly would have worked for him. As it was, he was only excited by the idea of having help. Alcmene was a good listener and was at least offering to be helpful, he had nothing to complain about. He was grateful when she reached out to let him climb up onto her back, it seemed like a better idea than hopping along with those big feet. With a cheery chirp, he hopped onto her paw. Then, with a bit of help from Alcmene, he hopped along the length of her leg before settling into a comfortable spot on her back.

"There, you'll be safer up there," she said with a small smile back at him, "If you're going to stick around, you'll be needing a name, I think." With the moon getting higher, more light was on the chick, especially now that the grass was not hiding him. He was a beautiful brown color, perhaps with a bit of black.. it was hard to see exactly in the dim light.
"What do you think of the name ... Biti?" she asked, pausing to think about it before making a suggestion. She had a decent vocabulary, and decided not to find a name related to the moon. The rules did not apply to him, that was a big part of the distraction that he provided to her. He shouldn't have a name about the moon. His colors were like the earth, not the moon, and he did resemble damp earth.

"It's easier to see up here, too!" he agreed, scanning the area around him. He'd seen the world from above before, certainly, but from a nest there were always things in the way. And this was a different place besides! He'd apparently gotten quite far since being dropped off earlier in the day.
"Biti?" he blinked, tilting his head but not thinking about it for long, "I like it!" He didn't know what it meant and he didn't really care, it was nice to have a name and to have a friend. He'd not been upset but he certainly could appreciate his luck at having met the dark lioness! What a surprisingly good night!

"Good," she said, "Then.. it's a pleasure to meet you, Biti." She could still be polite, she could even be cheerful.. it was rather surprising. A bird was not something you would expect to find good company in but she would dare anybody to prove to be better, she just found the little guy and already he was giving her a much easier time than anybody else. Biti wasn't likely to learn the complete truth immediately, either, because he was so young. Ally did not have a lot of experience with cubs but she was one once, and it was just a little bird.. how hard could it be?
"Let's see what we can find," she muttered, and started walking. Bugs were not something she had paid much attention to when learning her way around the lands, but she would do her best!

"It's a pleasure to meet you!" Biti mimicked cheerily, not really having learned a great deal of manners at this point either. But he would learn by example, he would learn a lot. He sang quietly, and rather nicely, when Ally took them on their little hunt for food. Slowly, his voice would decrease in volume and ultimately stop as he drifted off to sleep, huddled comfortably on a spot on the lioness' back. Food would have to wait until morning.
