((Haha....it took me a moment to realize you were referring to Owen... 'scared' vs 'scarred' I was wondering why you weren't helping the scared man.....*palm-slap to forehead* sweatdrop ))
"How cliche," Owen replied as he studied to soldier before him briefly. He was young.....probably about half his own age. Being so young, Owen hoped to scare the boy off rather then killing him. Killing one so young wasn't very appealing and was part of why he hated being a soldier at times. But here they were. "Run along, boy," Owen glared.

Owen ignored the 'old man' remark. Mainly because he had heard it enough before, and it was true.
"Foolish youth," he mumbled as he ignited his sword with his Demon Fang ability. "Then let's see own brave you are."
Owen wouldn't make the first move. Judging by what the boy was wearing he was a Dalmascain soldier....earth based abilities which most likely meant the ground he walked on could prove to be his enemy too. He had to be careful.....being young-it made the boy inexperienced compared to himself. And inexperience made the boy more dangerous in some ways....unpredictable.

One of Karla's crows cawed in distress behind her. She had done what she could with the wounded soldiers brought to her. The edges of her robe were stained with dirt and blood. She went to, Helix, the crow it greater distress and tried to calm him. He was the largest and eldest and this was usually behavior for his. When he took off some unknown force seemed to have her follow. But she didn't leave before making up an excuse to one of the other healers.

Lukipela continued to charge and meet the forces. While the Alzon group she was with was small, their magic was well developed. As was common for her people, they split up to better utilise thier individual abilities to cause havoc with their magic. They gained nothing from remaining in formation - having no armor, they could not take blows head on like the others. to remain in a rigid formation would have been suicide. Instead they acted individually over a wider area, but with one pan in mind: like the individual currents of an ocean. Lukipela grinned at a passing friend as he ran off to one side, the soldiers spreading out to form a loose circle around a group of the Fire Soldiers - a circle that woyuld not be detected due to their thin spread until it was too late. Lukipela drew hert sword and ducked to avoid the blow from a Fire soldier, using her momentum to bring her sword up through his armpit and into his chest. He gagged and she sliced to free her sword, spinning into the next attack. When she had dispatched a few soldiers she moved with a fluid speed back a little and checked the others. They were gradually pushing the soldiers together. She sheathed her sword and spread her palms ready for magic - her nevres tense. one hand formulated a simple ball of water to defend herself if a fire soldier rushed her, but the other tingled ready to enact their plan. There... Marcus began his magic, sending a thin blinding seet of water at teh soldiers, forcing them back. Reya also joiend him in sending her daggers of rainfall down to force them further back, pushing teh soldiers into a concentrated group in the middle of thier circle of low level magic. Lukipela let go on her defensive magic and focused on her new one, supported by the others. The fire soldiers in the middle looked confused and frustrated. Not for much longer. She began summoning the magic for her move drowning tomb. A few seconds more.... the fire soldiers fought against the otehrs' magic, but we still trapped and pushed back into tehri little group. Lukipela exhaled and forced her hands forwad. A sheet of water errupted form them and span in a vortex around the doomed soldiers in the middle, faster and faster. They tried to break through it, but then anotehr water soldier spported her, adding more water magic to her attack. the vortex grew stronger and one fire soldier screamed as he broke his arm by trying to grope through it. Lukipela concentrated and pulled her hands further together. The vortex was a bubble now, spinning, but still enclosed. she pulled her hands up, visibly straining in the effort of doing thsi to so many soldiers at once, and was thankful for the magical support of her friends - without their energies this spell would be weak. The bubble rose off the ground and hovered in mid air, and all the air was suddenly squeezed out. The soldiers inside groped and gagged, eyes wide, and she tried to ignore them. within a few seconds their bodies hung limp - drowned. She smiled and glancd around her. Then, the water soldiers all united and threw this now useless bubble fo dead soldiers at anotehr oncoming group of soldiers - the weight of the water and bodies knocking them to the ground. the bubbles burst and water sprayed everywhere.
"nice one."

Vigroux had broken the enemy lines with brutal efficiency and was gaining momentum, everything he touched became electrified. He ripped through the enemy formation, puncturing their lines like a needle while his mercenary unit acted as thread, following his lead. He was finally met by 3 Arcadian, clearly talented, fire benders. He cussed and dived to the right dodging 3 precision fireballs while casting thunder clap, to Vigroux’s great annoyance the fire benders cast a fire based wave attack, countering his shockwave. One of Vigroux’s more courageous and stupid mercenaries saw this as an opportunity to attack the fire benders before running into a wall of fire, the fire bender smirked. Vigroux was infuriated, he hated other magic users and he hated sadistic ones the most. Vigroux’s arms rose steadily, his eyes crackled with raw electricity as arcs of electricity swept over his body and into the three fire benders. They screamed while their bodies were turned to vapour. Vigroux hated using such a high level attack but he believed those bastards deserved it. Before he could restart his charge a massive vortex of water appeared just ahead of him drowning a large group of Arcadians before it was launched off to his right. He cleared a line through the startled Arcadians to a young woman who appeared to be in charge, where he barked out another order “spread out, no ‘fish slapper’ falls”.

Caught up in the moment, whatever the Lightning-Empire man said to her sounded like gibberish. "What the hell are you on about?" She yelled back. Her mercenaries had broken circle formation to pursue individual battles, ducking and weaving with skill to slash with their swords or attack from a long range with guns or magic. She was proud of them - they were only a small band, but personal friendships meant that they worked together well. A ball of fire suddenly hurtled towards them and she broke off conversation with the man to turn and force her own projectile of geyser water at it, dissolving it in mid air. She turned back to him, looking a little exasperated. "i'm kinda busy here, what do you want?"

Vigroux launches a charged sphere into a group of drenched Arcadians with barely a flick of his wrist, giving them a quick death as the crackling currents swim through the freshly applied conductor amplifying the already potent attack, and replies “looked like you could use a hand, tadpole” with a booming but somehow condescending tone. His mercenaries split into groups of about five and rallied to the defence of the outnumbered but capable water benders to insure no fire bender could get a lucky strike in.

"So much as I'm glad you offered, we don't need help, Sparky." lukipela countered, still it wa sgood to ahve more armoured guys around for the grunt work. The Arcadians had quickly switched tactics, and now actual weapons were being fought with in preference to magic, the unarmoured water-users were at a disadvantage. "Got a name?" she asked

Vigroux lounges at a line of Arcadian riflemen preparing to fire on the occupied water benders, his right arm cocked back, crackling with elemental energy waiting to pulse into the Arcadian riflemen. He brings his arm forward while he darts in front of the riflemen, his fist making a grazing blow on the entire line of unfortunate riflemen. The energy courses through their veins reducing them to a standing corpse. He replies “Vigroux, what’s the plan then? Tadpole”.

Once the boy made his first move, Owen wasted no time to meet the charge. He was slightly slower less agile due to age, but he had strength, endurance, experience on his side of this battle. He met the boy's sword with his own. The metal sizzled and sparked when Owen's sword, enhanced by the Demon Fang, and the boy's sword struck one another. Then he used the force of his body to shove the boy back and perhaps even become off balance.

Mattew letting him self lose balance quickly caught himself with hand. Prefroming a hand stand. He turned his hand and shifted his weight into momentom, to pull off a spining kick. Useing the Metal covering on his boot to knock away the blade. He quickly shifted his weight again so he landed. He rose up swinging his blade once again.

Owen would admit the boy had some skill-as least more than the soldiers he disposed of earlier. He raised his sword to block the next onslaught of attacks. He maintained his ground-advancing forward between blows.
A crow flew over head and landed on one of the corpses behind him. It cawed once and then watched in silence. It only broke its gaze one to peck of the revealed burnt flesh of the fallen soldier.

This is going no where Mattew thought to himself. This guy is more able then the other Arcadain soldiers ive fought. I gota find a way to stop him. The he thought of a way. He jumped back gaining some ground away from the scarred man. Me claped his hands together and spoke something quitly. He the took off trowred him again. This time slideing under his arm reach and around be hind him. he pointed at a near by building and then at Owen The building erupted into a cloud of smoke. Only for a seconed then The smoke and dust was torn apart as a spike of solid rock shot out word trowed Owen.

Owen wasn't surprised when he finally saw the boy use an earth based attack. He summoned Inferno to shield and slow down the attack. It barely went up in time. Little close for comfort-he thought. He expanded the sphere of fire-pushing back the attack just enough to allow him to dodge out of the way and inferno faded.
The crow cawed several times and took to the sky for safety.

Karla could hear the fight taking place and she ran down the street. She looked up and saw Helix and she ran faster. Then she slowed her pace and peered around the corner. The back of a Union soldier was to her. Biting her bottom lip, she glanced worriedly at her husband.
