Thank you Rhea!
Name: Sadiki Maskhenet Meaning: Friendly Destiny Nicknames: Sadiki Obtained: Rhea gave her to me, since she couldn't RP her.
Mother: Dead Father: Dead Sisters: Dead Brothers: Dead
Gender: Female Breed: Lioness Mate: Plotted Colorist: Meep
Pride: -- Rank: --
Current Location: Some where in the rouge lands, looking for her mother Personality: Sadiki is very confused. She doesn't understand much about the world, and she just wanted to find her adoptive mother. She's a sweet lioness and not quick to judge harshly, though she is slightly skittish when she feels danger.
Bio: A small pride. That’s what her family was. Consisting of a male, three females and about 5 cubs, not including her, their pride was constantly moving, never finding a place to call their own because they were always run out. But she didn’t know any of this. When she was born, she made the tenth member of the pride. She was the youngest, the smallest. But she was born right as her pride had crossed into dangerous territory. Three days after she was born, Her pride was attacked. Not just attacked, but wiped out almost completely. Only her and another cub survived, but he had sustained serious wounds. A few days after the attack, the other cub died. The female didn’t know what to do…until a herd of large antelope passed by. Now, at this age, she didn’t know what ‘prey’ was. She hadn’t ever seen a dead prey animal, her pride was on such hard times. But she wanted company. She wanted to feel welcome. She wanted food. She started to wobble towards them, but after even a few steps, her energy gave out. She was nothing more than skin over bones. The herd saw her, and ignored her. She was a predator, but not big enough to be a threat. She was to be ignored. It was the law. But that day, the law was broken. One of the female Antelope stepped towards the cub. Covered in scars, she was not afraid. She had recently lost her fawn, and was still feeling the instinct of motherhood. Even though the stench of predator lingered about the cub, she ignored it. Many times in her life she had taken in orphaned fawns, and this little one was to be no different. Even though the rest of the herd hissed at her for doing so, she approached the cub slowly, her head lowered. She knew how skittish young ones could be, and she didn’t want to frighten the cub. As she got closer, the cub let out a mewl…not of terror or sacredness, but of welcome and loneliness. She wanted the creature to come closer. To let her nuzzle it. To feed her. To love her. The antelope lied down on the ground right next to the cub, finding it ironic that she looked like her own species. She only let out a small grunt of pain as the cub started to nurse with her sharp needle-teeth. But they were content. Even the herd was accepting.
A few weeks later, The cub could keep up with the herd, but when it ran, her ‘mother’ kneeled down so the cub could climb onto her back. The cub was now known as Sadiki Meskhenet; Friendly Destiny. And she was as her namesake said- She was destined to be over-friendly. Her ‘mother’, Zuri Ambala, Was quite over-protective of her daughter. She worried when she was more than three feet away, was always trying to get her to eat more, and basically mauled any male that got near her that seemed vicious. But mother and daughter truly loved each other dearly, even though they were different in the most extreme of ways. Sadiki got her needed meat by feeding on bird carcasses, and even then felt guilty.
Soon, another tragedy befell the cub.
Her herd was attacked. A pride of some 20-strong lions attacked the herd without warning. And when they did, there was pandemonium. The herd split several different ways, and mother and daughter were separated. The attack went on for a good hour, the lions slaughtering whatever they could get their paws on. Sadiki kept running with some members of the herd, but soon stopped, tired and frightened. She didn’t go back for fear of being killed, but she wanted her mother. After what seemed hours, She wandered back, mewling and crying for Zuri. She ignored the blood-soaked field and walked on and on, knowing her mother had run on. She wanted her mother. She needed her.
So she wandered on, looking for her mother…in vain.
After a few months she lay sobbing on the edge of a lake, skinny and heartbroken. She couldn't find a single trace of her herd.
A large creature heard her cry and his voice trumpeted towards her, wise and welcoming.
She looked up and tilted her head, tears staining her dark fur. He was a grand character; gigantic, blue-grey, and wrinkly. He had a trunk as large as a tree and tusks protuded from the corners of his mouth; one was broken.
He asked what the matter was, and for some reason she trusted him. She explained her sorrow for her lost mother and how guilty she felt every time she ate prey, feeling that she was disgracing the kindness her herd had shown her.
The wise creature has stood still and thoughtful for what seemed like forever, but when he spoke it was like every creature in the area leaned in to hear his intellegent words. He told her off the great things some lions had done, and the kindness they showed other species. He also spoke of the bad ones, who showed no respect for the ancient bonds of nature.
Then, he spoke of the circle of life. He told her that it was in her blood to eat prey, even if she felt connected to them. He said it was wise to feel remorse for her deed, but to quench that remorse with thankfulness for their nutrients.
Sadiki had been very touched by the creatures words and she shared a warm embrace with him. She could feel the raw power, intellegence, and wisdom radiating from him and knew she could trust his judgement. She resolved that she could continue her search with a newfound respect for everything around her, and she promised to take better care of herself by eating better.
With kind words they departed and Sadiki continued her journey with a new outlook.
