Personality:
Spunky and energetic, this fiery lady can certainly take care of herself. She’s cautious, reserved at first but rarely aggressive. If you get on her good side she’s actually quite pleasant but don’t go thinking you’ll make a lasting impression on her. She has seen much, learned much. She’s not gullible, she’s not fragile and while she’s also not cold, Fenja will always keep her distance. Because bad things may happen to those she cares for and this little lady refuses to go through it all again. While she carries the guilt of causing the massacre of her pride, don’t think she’s a gloomy character, far from it! Fenja’s decided to enjoy her life to the fullest and she’s doing a pretty good job so far. She’s fond of cubs and laughter. She loves her freedom above all else (more like she needs it) and she will still dance on occasion when she is sure no one is watching… until the flood of painful memories make it too hard for her to go on.
History:
Youth: As a cub, Fenja loved nothing more than to dance to sound of her childhood friend's beautiful singing voice – as most of the pride members she was quite gifted in her chosen art form . She was an adventurous cub with many friends and loved ones. Her life was nearly perfect until it all changed on a tragic day when she lead a band of poachers to her peaceful pride and unwillingly caused the death of every single member... well, that's what she thinks, anyway. The truth is her childhood friend, Fjolnir, is still alive and living in the lands she abandoned not that long ago.
Rogue life: Fenja is a feisty girl and she would love nothing more than to be able to say she raised herself out there on the unforgiving rogue lands. She didn’t. Not even close. All throughout her short life, she has found many strangers who were more than willing to help such a pretty little thing like Fenja. Rogues, travelers, shady characters… many had a part in raising her. Some had a little more influence than others but she took all the information she could like a dry sponge. She learned how to sleep in trees like a leopard (she did fall a ridiculously high amount of times before getting it right), she ran with cheetahs (and will always hold a tiny grudge for not being able to keep up with them), learned how to fight with a Firekin lady (who nearly bit her head off more than once) and learned the facts of life with a wandering cheetah (now that was an awkward conversation).
Many tried to adopt her (or steal her for that matter) but she always managed to escape. No matter how nice her company was, the minute the bright female feels the tight embrace of a bond forming she will disappear into the night and never return. Considering how helpful many creatures have been to her development, it is not unlikely that some hold tiny grudges against her.
This how we come to the present, with Fenja roaming alone, carefully avoiding anything that might bind her to a location, pride or creature. She was always walking, never looking back, never letting herself become tied down... until.... ooops. While he's always been careful with such things, she got a little "happy" after eating some fermented fruits and got pregnant. She loves the cubs but is very confused about the whole matter.
Physical attributes/skills:
Fenja is an elegant girl but she is built for stamina. She's not particularly large – a regular female most would say – and will forever be in awe of the mighty Firekin lions. She uses her assets as best as she can though. She has wickedly quick reflexes and those claws on her paws are not just for show – mess with her and you might lose an eye. Fenja’s coat is very very bright: on a sunny day, her movements might even become somewhat blurred and difficult to predict.
However, she will do her best to avoid fighting male lions (mostly because she’s sure she’ll lose) and will only use defensive moves until she finds a nice tree to climb.
As far as hunting goes, she has learned with the best (and the worst actually) and she‘s pretty decent. She usually hunts near lakes and rivers where the glimmering water can camouflage her bright coat. Dropping from a tree is also one of her favorites but it requires a little more patience and stupider prey.
Fenja has discovered she is a pretty good fisher, thanks to her coat colors and swift reflexes. Her bright colors confuse the fish and if she stays still for a little while, it’s not long before the creatures swim a little too close to her. |

Fenjas's Friends:
1. (Young juve) Daire (Quiftan) thought Fenja was in trouble and she ended up staying with him after they met. He taught her stealth and hunting skills and Fenja, mistaking his politeness for distance at first, lived with him until she finally felt the bond willing her to stay. She remembers him as a very polite dark lion with awesome markings.
2. (Cub) Tama and Múscail (Das Tor, Kitsune Mistress Nyoko) tried to adopt Fenja when she was tiny. Their sweet and loving natures were too much for the little girl who blamed herself for the deaths of her pride members and equally loving family. It didn't take long for her to run off on them. =(
3. (Juve) Aiko (zephira73 cool was the first cheetah Fenja met. She was fun and interesting and helped her with her hunting skills but also gave her important lessons regarding...uh-hum... reproduction. Fenja remembers Aiko very well.
4. (Cub) Pich and Lela found Fenja and kept her well fed for while. this Pich was the first to approach and wanted to play, while Lela was a bit more reserved. Lela made Fenja some of the jewelry Fenja wears to this day.
5. (Adolescent) Pasang found Fenja wandering around the jungle and decided to have a little fun with her, jumping straight out of the tree to frighten her. He then endeavored to be her friend and eventually fell in love with her, though he never told her. He taught her many things: how to climb, swim, fish, whatever he could do to keep her around.
6. (Cub) Moyo'Mkali helped Fenja when she was trying to hunt odd things. Being the rather confident, cocky little fellow, he'd refuse to let her share until she said please. Then, he'd show her how to win her own prize. He was a patient teacher - after some persuasion - and Fenja learned to respect all cats, big and small... as well as how to hunt alternative game.
7. (Adolescent) Mèo Đen & Siyah Kedi saved Fenja from a small group of nasty hyenas that cornered her up a tree. They helped her improve her climbing abilities and she learned not to mess with hyenas. Fenja remembers them as being fun in general. |

Meaning: "worth giving one's life for"

Personality: Kafele was once a playful and boisterous cub that believed he was the best example amongst his siblings of what a true Atmaja lion should look like and he was rather smug in that regard. He could be pushy and demanding at times, often seeking play fights with his siblings but he always showed an immense respect for the adults in his family. He seemed to like his aunt Fila in particular, clearly admiring her strenght and character. Though Kafe could be a bit bratty and irresponsible, he always had a soft side that he only showed to his mother and sister.
Now an adult, Kafele is a lot more subdued than his younger self. He's still a little rough around the edges but the close proximity with the pride’s evil ruler and the teachings of the adults around him have given him a little more perspective on how he should behave. He’s very protective of females and young cubs. He might not show it but he’s very kind and he feels responsible for the fate of every oppressed pride member having been trained to help overthrow the ruler ever since he was a cub.
History
Kafele is the baby of a litter of four and he belongs to the Ashnai’le Pride! He lived in the heart of the pride with the lower class under the close supervison of Sahen who seened to take a special interest in this particular litter. When the kids became juveniles, Sahen announced them as his heirs, claiming he was their mother's father. He took the young lions and their relatives from those harsh conditions to the the Weeping Lion where he could keep a close eye on them and his intentions are never completely understood.
The prophecy of the "Chosen One" is whispered cautiously in the pride and there is a movement to overthrow the ruler. No one really knows what will happen next. =O

Personality: Astar was always the more quiet of the two girls but she is by no means shy! She just simply prefers to think things through before acting and she carried herself with a dignity that didn’t really fit a young cub. Towards her family members, she is very physical in her affections. Resilient and adaptable, she quickly adjusts her attitude to each unique situation and it was particularly difficult to surprise her as a cub. She has adjusted rather nicely to the En Gedi, made some friends, found a totem and chose a vocation. While at first she was scared that her family was falling apart and not as close as they had been during the difficult times in the rogue lands, she has slowly realized that things haven't changed that much and she's quite happy.
History: Astar only joined the En gedi as a juvenile. She lived with her family in the rogue lands before and her parents had some trouble feeding their three kids. She took the hard times with a stoic silence, never complaining. They made her stronger albeit a little clingy.
Aftar shows the utmost respect towards her parents, mostly because they are not only loving but because she knows how hard they’ve worked to support the family. When times were hard, the two cubs came in a somewhat unexpected way and Astar often felt as a bit of a burden to the adults. She can’t help feeling a bit guilty for the strain she thinks she caused on the family just by being born (after all, if her parents had only produced one cub, things could’ve been a little easier) and she always felt a little powerless, wishing she could help more and vowing to become self sufficient as soon as possible. Pride life and the support that it provides has certainly softened that side of her though.
Her big brother is just that, her big brother. He’s been with her ever since she can remember and she doesn’t see him as any different from the other members of the family even if they are not blood-related. Because of all the time they spent together while their parents were hunting, Astar feels her brother practically raised her and she considers him a guardian, almost like a second father who she loves deeply.
Her sister Talia is like part of her. They’ve always been together and Astar is frequently in awe of her bright nature, wishing to stay by her side forever.

Astar's Totem: Kuma
Astar will often claim he chose her and not the other way around.
Personality: Kuma tries to break Astar's shell and make her express her feelings more - even if he has to be a pain in order to accomplish that. He's very devoted to the young lioness and always has her best interests at heart. Though friendly, Kuma has a tendency for irony and sarcasm.
How they met: Right after hitting adolescence, Astar caught a gazelle that ran into her. She considers it her first real kill and is immensely proud of it. However she wouldn’t have done if the gazelle hadn’t been running away from a young and thin wild dog. She won’t admit it, but Astar felt an immediate connection towards the smaller predator.
She offered to share the kill (well, it was only fair!) and while the initial reaction from both parts were awkward and cautious at first, trust was quick to grow between them. They played for a whole afternoon, explored, ran together, laughed together, got into trouble, got out of trouble and finally, at the end of it all when it was time to part… they couldn’t. Kuma kept following her and Astar wasn’t too keen on leaving him on his own either so she gave in and took the wild dog as her totem. |

Name: Vaako
Meaning: The name of a character from the movie Chronicles of Riddick
Personality: Vaako shows a good amount of ambition though he is just trying to impress and keep up with his brother. He is somewhat weak to manipulation, particularly from his female family members and he will be an easy target when they try to influence his actions. He will generally be gruff and act tough but he likes order and rules so Vaako will show respect to those who earn it - though such distinction is entirely up to him, of course. He will value strength and loyalty above all qualities.
Vaako became quieter and more withdrawn after his youngest sister was cubnapped. He and Vaako will silently look for her all over the rogue lands, both brothers a little broken by the event. He'll becaome harder to read and his actions will becaome less impulsive and more deliberate. He'll be somewhat detached but most of his personality traits will be just below the surface.
History: For a good part of his life, Vaako seems to be going through the motions, trying to live up to his mother’s expectations and keep up with Riddiq. Still, he has a deep sense of commitment and allegiance and he will always be devoted to his family even if he doesn’t always say the right things. He will be protective of his sisters and he will try to make them stronger (usually by sparring with them) but his tough love approach will often seem a little too much like bullying. As for his brother, he will probably always feel very competitive towards Riddiq and annoyed that he can’t quite understand what his brother is feeling/thinking. For this reason, he might even be a little jealous of his youngest sister, who he’ll believe is the closest person to Riddiq and the one who understands him the most – something he secretly desires.
His sister Kofie is also a little jealous of the relationship between Riddiq and Jakyra so she'll try to follow Vaako around in much the same way. Vaako will break a little when Jakyra is stolen as a juvenile and will leave the nest with Riddiq to look for her.
Vaako had a little oopsie in the swamplands and he now has five cubs there. He will stay with them until they become adolescents.
Vaako is a Seer! Not a very strong one but he does have the occasional dream/nightmare that leaves him a bit shaken up. He won't understand what they mean until he reaches adulthood.
Family info:
The absent father is Arindam. Funnily enough, he and Riddiq share a bit of personality between them. Both feel themselves unworthy of the females in their life, Arindam feeling he wasn't worth Gintare and it was better to continue his search for his brother, and Riddiq feeling he must push himself to be better for his mother and sisters. Little will be known about their father, and Arindam won't even know they exist until the cubs are probably close to adulthood, if at all.
The Momma is Gintare, the wayward young lioness who, unfortunately, got saddled with 5 cubs while the man responsible snuck off in the dead of night. What a b*****d, right? Tare is capable of being independent, and she will fight tooth and claw against people who try to curtail her activities or impose restrictions on her, but secretly she wants to belong to and with someone. Her secret desire for romance, however, is buried deep, though she'll flirt quite happily and has no objections to one night stands, providing no one tries to limit her freedom.
The eldest of the litter is our very own Riddiq, played by yours truly, Adona Benedicta. Riddiq is, even now, rather serious for a cub. The only time he is at ease is in the privacy of their den with his sisters and Vaako. Out in the rogue lands, where anyone could be listening, he is closed off. He doesn't trust other lions at all, believing them to be as ruthess as he is when given the opportunity. Though he will be capable of great violence, it is more a strong will to survive for his sake, for Jakyra's sake, for his mother's sake, than a ruthless thirst for blood. He has a low self-worth of himself, believing that he must constantly push himself to be better for Gintare, and his sisters.
The third born is Svanhild, played by TawnyAngel.
The fourth born is Kofie, played by MoonRazor.
The youngest is Jakyra, played by Princess_Feylin. A tomboy through and through, Jakyra always wants to do what her big brother Riddiq is doing. She will follow him around and try to do what he's doing at least as well as he does it, though she doesn't really expect to ever be able to do it better. There is a part of her which is girly and wants a romantic happy ending, but not if it means some other lion will take her away from Riddiq, who is more or less her idol. She takes after her mother, however, in that she views her body as a tool, and as she grows older she'll learn to use it that way. |
