She noted the change of expression and shrank in on herself, expecting anger, a strike. But there was nothing and when she looked up again she could see that the female was thinking about the problem.
But thinking was better than hate.
She was about to release her held breath when the next question came. She caught it again and ignored the protest of her lungs. So, someone had seen her leave? They had reported it? She felt her heart shiver with fear and scrambled for an excuse. Any excuse.
"A-a friend." She finally croaked. "H-he means no harm, I swear it."

Alcmene watched Ivie carefully after she asked her question, wondering about the nature of the meeting and then at the response she got. There was almost no reason to be suspicious of rogues on the borders, they had had very peaceful times since the move, but there would always be the concern that something would go wrong. And the lingering concern about the pride that had very nearly run them out of their old home before its resources died away and sent them hunting for a new place to leave. They were welcoming to anybody with an open mind who was seeking a home, but meetings with rogues were always checked into. It was a status issue, a possible security issue and generally an issue for any lioness already causing some concern about her well-being.
"Is he still near the borders? Is he staying?" she asked. It would be better for all of them if a strange lion around the borders was to be expected or not.

In truth, Ivie'lingwa had no idea what he planned. They hadn't spoken much on it. "I...I don't know. We...We bumped into one another after my...my panic attack. He helped me calm. He didn't mention whether he wished to stay, or even visit, though perhaps he will come back to visit me on occassion."
He paused, twitching her tail. She had liked him. She hoped to see him again.
"He's...an odd looking male. You would know him if you saw him. Pale grey fur, odd white face with blue marks beneath his eyes. That's him. Suijin."
She felt weak and shaky now. She needed rest.
"Y-your Majesty, would you mind if I went back to my den to rest? If...if you need me, I'll be there."

She nodded patiently as Ivie explained the situation and described the male. The queen would have to inform Baba'nyota and the guards, just so they knew someone might be around. If he was.. close to Ivie, he might be more daring than just passing rogues so it would be worth the mention.
"You may go," she agreed with a nod, staying where she was as the lioness went off. She didn't have anything else to say just yet, Ivie knew they were concerned and had given the queen quite a bit to think about. She would have to talk to Fafnir and possibly to Shira. They would figure out what was best for Ivie and for the pride.
