Personality: Always happy to spend time with his siblings, Shangwe is a fun-loving little lion. However, perhaps not so much so as some of his family members. He doesn't like to get into conflict with anyone, especially strangers, and would rather throw a good amount of thought behind his actions before running around doing something nutty. Still, he somehow always finds himself getting into some kind of trouble, usually because of his inability to say no to his brothers and sisters. He's the kind of guy that loves to please others and see them happy.
He isn't much of a fighter, though will defend himself if his back is pressed against the wall. A pacifist of sorts, he would much rather find a way to talk through differences over anything else. This logic doesn't apply to hunting, Shangwe perfectly capable of taking down a meal if need be. He's only worried about hurting the feelings of other large, top-of-the-food-chain animals.

Personality: Wanting desperately to be like his father, Kavu is willing to act like a jerk whenever possible. The sarcasm, the fight picking, the cold attitude- he had it all down pat. He'll do anything to show his father something worthy of being doted upon. Indeed, the affection of his father is more important to him than anything else in the entire world. Granted, his worldly views are bit... small considering how young he is, and right now he feels winning the favor of his father is the most important thing life.
Unfortunately… he’s more his mother’s child. The young male has a huge heart, constantly regretting his actions regardless of his own desire to be like daddy. He always ends up being the nice guy, much to his own dismay. Once he fails at being mean, or his father isn't around, he's usually very kind and willing play with others. Which he enjoys, leaving him torn between doing the right thing and being like his father more often than not.

Personality: Aberforth is of a studious nature. Not that he’s a genius by any means, he just enjoys conversation and learning from the elders more than he does, well, anything else. He was raised in a sheltered environment for most of his life, his parents not wanting to “taint” him with the outside world and its vile workings. Eventually, though, he did venture out into side disgusting world, and soon grew to resent his parents for having kept him from it.
Now he’s a socially awkward intellectual with no standing and no real experience. He’s not a great hunter, though he gets the job done, and when it comes to fighting he’s not above throwing his tail between his legs and heading for the hills. Indeed, he is hardly a well-adapted adult, but he’s trying to get there.
Desperately.
He’s not very good at having a good time, more used to standing patiently than having fun. So he tries to open himself up to new experiences. More than anything he wants to feel like –and be considered- a normal lion. Though awkward, he is a kind lion, particularly to those who seem down in the dumps. His emotions run high, helping him connect with others and almost feel their misery. This innocence was something he never lost through getting older.
Prior to the earthquake, Aberforth had been asleep in his den. Not being an extremely out-going creature, despite his best efforts, he had decided to segregate himself from the pride, and the inevitable shame he would eventually have to feel, for a little while longer with a light nap. His avian companion, a sarcastic female named Uchungu, was out getting herself a spot to eat. This bird has been his only friend for quite some time and was perhaps the only creature in the world who knew the real him: what lurked beneath his bumbling exterior. She had become more a mother to him than anything else, also prompting him to make good choices and speak to the others whenever she saw him shying away.
She had picked a rather inopportune moment to leave his side.
When the earthquake struck, Aberforth had been put into a mild panic. The shaking of the ground and the slight crumbling of the walls and ceiling around him disoriented him almost enough to keep him inside while the cave collapsed. Luckily, he regained sense in time to make a frantic leap for the exit. A leap that was ill-timed, and resulted in him being slammed in the head with a large rock. He was thus more-or-less thrown from the cavern, rolling to a safe place where he spent the remainder of the earthquake in no danger, but out like a light.
Upon his wakening, he was unable to remember anything of himself or what had happened, a bout of retrograde amnesia hitting him like, dare it be said, a ton of bricks. Confused beyond reason, Aberforth ended up roaming away from the pride for quite some time, just looking for something that might help him remember what had happened. Too bad he had been going in the wrong direction. It was Uchungu who discovered him, going well out of her way to search for her dear companion. Once reunited with the baffled boy, the bird spent a great deal of time helping Aberforth regain his memory. When finally he did recall most of his past life, his earlier memories forever a mystery to him, he was able to return to the pride, unaware of the recent chains of events that had beset the place.

Personality: Uchungu is the bonded avian companion of Aberforth. Her nest has resided near his den for many a year, the lady almost growing up with the lion cub. She watched the way his parents sheltered him, hating. Once she saw him flee the den to escape their prison-like parenting, she was quick to finally make herself known to him as a friend, promising to help him find a new home. At that moment, she became his mother of sorts, though he was already almost an adult. She tried to open him up, a task which she continues to this day.
Sarcastic and easy to anger, she has little patience for others. Despite this, she's constantly warning Aberforth against being alone, telling him to instead become friends with the other members of his pride. She will always look after him, regardless of how old he gets.

Personality: Though unlike the rest of his family in color, Maalum is a bold, out-spoken creature seemingly very much in love with his look. He learned early on that, while different, he really didn't need to feel like an outcast. So instead of taking on the persona of the "I don't fit in, I'm going to grow up alone" child, this spunky cheetah has adopted the sense that he is not only different- he is special. So special, in fact, that his appearance is something not to be embarrassed about, but envied. Indeed, he feels that when others look at him, even his brothers, it's only because they wish they could have the same glorious pelt he was gifted with at birth.
Always having this sense about him has lead him to become a somewhat self-centered creature. Cocky and assured of his beauty, he never has a problem leaping into conversation when meeting new creatures. The way he presents himself, though, easily allows those around him to find him a bit rude and egocentric. This sense will only grow more with age, his love in himself the only thing he really has to make him not feel like he's a freak. It will become a part of him as he reaches adulthood, fully diving him into the world of the self-absorbed playboy.

Personality: All his life he had tried to stay away from his mother's paranoia. He didn't want to be anything like her. Always worrying about what might attack, or what lurked in the brush. He hated that lifestyle, even though most hares lived the same way. And, while he hated the life, he never really had a chance to break away from it when he was younger. So he was forced to be part of the group, never ruining the function of the society though he always, secretly, wanted to
Having grown up with this extremely paranoid mom, Sungura is quite the rebel. Though an adult, he's not against getting into a little bit of trouble now and again. Nor is he above teasing other creatures even if they happen to be bigger than him. Finally free, he's willing to try all the things he never got to do when he was hiding away with the rest of his family.
Assured, intelligent and a bit of a jerk, Sungura doesn't like to compromise. He'll do things on his own if someone doesn't want to share the joy along with him. But he's not a bad bunny. Just in need of a little maturing.

Personality: This little dog is of the adventurous sort. She likes to roam the lands looking for the next best exploration. What makes her a little different than most, however, is that she doesn't often think about things like looking around or seeking out something real. Her mind is usually off on a completely different endeavor than her feet. While she's scaling a hillside or the base of a mountain, her mind tells her she's high up on the mountain tops, struggling to reach the peak, or in the sky wandering the clouds. Never is her imagination not running away with her.
This makes her a little spaced out most of the time, often out-of-the-loop on real world matters. She never seems to be aware of what's going on around her, but nor does that ever seem to be much of a burden for her. She likes the way she is- even if it does annoy people that she's so spacey.
Along with being absent-minded, Haramia has a hard time staying focused when she is out of her day dreams. Normally she'll stop paying attention to a conversation and seek out something more fun to do, either inviting the animal talking to her along or just wandering off without warning.
