"Looks good, let's get the heck across the bridge, gimme my pack back," Arthur requested. "I wanna use this blanket to keep my stomach from freezing." The blanket would slide just fine and keep him warm at the same time.

Gregory scrambled for help, almost dropping Arthur's bag in his panic. He felt himself come to a stop and gasped for breath and rubbed his eyes with his free hand.
"Y-yes, thank you..." he said as he climbed more towards the center of the bridge and gave Arthur back his pack.

Arthur was still feeling pretty damn tired, he definitely needed to rest ASAP.

They all crossed the bridge safely in a matter of minutes.

Now they stood before the massive, blackened-steel door.

Arthur stopped and collapsed on the blanket, which he had spread out after emptying its contents into his backpack. "Knock," he suggested. He sounded tired as he was.

"Rest, then knock," Andreas corrected, lying down on the blanket off to the side.

In the meantime, Henry and Ro headed down the stairs, until the GM finally saw fit to tell them what was at the bottom.

Ro and Henry had begun to make great progress, or at least it seemed. They had lost track of their actual progress in the darkness. The top of the chasm could no longer be seen. The bottom still could not be seen, but as four or so Nutcracker-shaped shadows fell from above, they could be heard impacting the bottom after about thirty more seconds of falling.
There was a faint, light-blue and foggy light coming from below.

From below came the distant sound of a low growl.

*

Gregory seemed to have the same idea as everyone else, going limp as soon as he was off of the bridge.
He began to doze off.

"Stay awake, let's try to get inside, if we fall asleep now it could get bad if we get too cold. We've been okay, but that might change." Arthur began standing up very slowly. "Let's try to get inside," he repeated.

Henry slowed down when he heard the growl, but continued on since they were finally close to the bottom.
"Keep your guard up," he whispered back to Ro, drawing his knife.

Ro nodded silently, preparing his own knife as well as they decended ever further into the chasm.
It was only a matter of minutes before they reached the bottom.

*

For Arthur's sake, the concluded on resting, not sleeping, for ten minutes before attempting to go inside.

Henry went down. All the way to the bottom, or until something happened to prevent that.

The steps came to an end after about ten more minutes of descending. Henry's foot landed on solid rock, granite from the looks of it. It was still chilly, but there wasn't as much snow or ice down here as there was up above.

At the bases of the massive stalagmites were bundles of massive, light-blue, bioluminescent fungi, the obvious source of lighting down in the chasm. Their views were obstructed by a thick fog, but they could see clearly enough to move safely.

Sounds of miscellaneous life were all around, from scuttling to growling to prowling, sounds were everywhere, they weren't alone.

"Which way should we go? Probably straight to the castle..." Ro suggested, glancing around, wary of any movement.

*

Everyone got their ten minutes of rest. Arthur was still tired, but he wasn't quite as exhausted anymore.

"Yeah...no point in trying to explore. We'd only get lost."
Henry looked around. "Let's go." He headed in the direction of the castle.

Ro shrugged, "That's for sure." he said as he followed after Henry. He sighed, knowing the luck that they've had so far, they would probably end up lost anyway.

Henry walked until they either found the castle, or something happened.

"Knock, or wait for the others?" Andreas asked, his head pounding less now.
