Cats And Dogs

Akain glanced over at Riva but only for a second still keeping his ground. He wouldnt be the first to turn away never was. "Yes Riva?" He asked a slight muffled chuckle in his throat as the other cat was hit though he murged it with an annoyed growl covering it well. "Either way cat, we don't want a war breaking out, well they dont I cant say the same. But I have no problem in offing to little big mouths to end a small disbute." He flashed his fangs again leaning in towards the black on snarling. "As for you there is no war yet so watch your tongue and I'll return the gesture."

Ravenheart had brought her herbs back to her den and put them where she wanted them to be, arranging them carefully into stacks, she looked over her herbs and decided she needed more Horsetail. She turned and exited camp again, noticing that more dogs had begun to awake as the rays of the morning sun got brighter. She knew exactly where the horsetail was and headed straight for it, knowing that she was heading straight for the border between their terratory and the cats. She soon saw two dogs and two cats at the border but ignord it for now as something else caught her nose. She nosed around and found what she had smelt, a skunk. She wrinkled her nose and barked at the skunk to scare it off and hopefully to make it go into the cat's terratory, the skunk instead growled at her, she growled back and barked more at the skunk, pouncing at it and bouncing back to scare it off, she thought she had succeeded when it turned around but then saw that it had raised its tail, before she could get away it sprayed her and she let out a loud yelp, her eyes watering as the skunk made its get away, she let out horribly loud yelping noises as she rolled on the ground, trying to get the stench off of her, her nose and eyes burning as she cried out in pain from the strong stench that was now covering her face, she shoved her face in the ground and rolled around trying everything to make the stench fade a bit but with no luck as she continued to cry out, pawing her face and rolling.

Nightpelt flinched back as Meika hooked her ear, she shook her head and backed up a bit, staring at the two dogs that presented themselves infront of her, her fur still ruffled at them before she heard something, at first she didn't know what it was but then relized that it was another dog yelping, and then the yelping and howling got louder and louder "Well, you two better go check out what that is" she said as she turned toward the sound, ears perked, "by the sounds of it, that dog must have gotten into some kind of trouble, sounds like alot of pain.." she said as she sat down and curled her tail around her front paws.

Riva was now at Akains side befor she droped her voice "dont get to rash, they will hurt or kill Roshi if you do" she looked back at the cats her voice and eyes were calm, she had no reason to fear for she had brought down was bigger things then cats, like bears and whatever elce threatend her pack, her eyes grew emotionless for a second as the looked them over befor they came to life like fire that would suck the life from her prey "Cats " she replied "I want Roshi returned by the next full moon or i will come to your camp personaly and kill you" her ears perked hearing another dog she began to turn "i will remember your faces and your scents and i will make sure Akain kills you both" she huffed befor she brushed past Akain and started to walk to where the howling was coming from "what a trouble dog" she huffed as she moved away

Meika still fluffed up let her eyes widen as she stared at this other dog, both dogs had a threatning sence about them, she shook her head when the noise reached over the trees and she tilted her head confused, but she took the chance and proded Nightpelt in the side, "come on" she hissed "we need to report this" she said as she took the crow in her mouth

Akain not having turned away jumpped over them stopping them in there tracks. "Report what you wish but the warning is there return him or I will have the pleasure in taking your lives." He snarled snapping at the black cat again then shoving her over with his muzzle. "By the next moon." He growled before stalking off in the direction of the yelping dog. "Oh god what is that." He snarled pulling back as soon as he took a whiff. He tried to get closer but pulled away sneezing this time then covering his nose with his paw. "Have fun." He Groaned turning away "Im reporting to the elders. It's a skunk send her to the river and soak her in mud first, that should get the worst out." Turning he Jumpped onto a near by rock and vanished into the bushes silently.

Ravenheart continued to howl in pain as she shoved her face over and over into the dirt trying hard to get the stench off of her, it was blinding. She couldn't even hear the other dog approaching as she continued to howl and whine and whimper as she rolled and kicked out.

Nightpelt let out a hiss as the dog snapped at her, her claws out and ready to strike at him as he shoved her with his muzzle, she took a good swipe at him but made sure to miss so she wouldn't start a fight, she growled as she watched him trot off before she grabbed up her rabbit and trotted off back toward the camp, her ears flat against her head. She hated dogs that thought they were all that just because they were bigger then the cats.

Riva approtched slowly with her breath held in, she couldnt stand the stench, she coughed "Ravenheart you foolish dog, roll in the mud and soke yourself in the river, it wont compleatly go away but it will make being with you bearable" she retreated back a good distance to where she could breath "ugh you stink, never try messing with a stupid skunk" she shook her head from side to side

Meika hissed and cuffed her friend again "are you trying to start a fight, that swipe could have caused one you mousebrain" she growled as er tail lashed, and she shook her head, "go report to the elders, and next time dont lose your temper" she hissed, as she turned away, she never hated dogs and she saw them as friends but if it came down to it she would fight for her pack not the dogs

Akain couldnt get that stench out of his muzzle it was discusting but as he made it back to the elders he groaned and turned away running to his haven, he hated this all and prefered the old days when there weren't so many others around. His pack was fine but he was never one for groups and didnt care more or less who won the war. Why would he care. He stopped sighing then made his way to the leaders den. "I bring knews, elder. The cats have him hostage and we have given them till the next moon to bring him back." He spoke quickly the gave a half bow then turned away running back to his forest.

Ravenheart tried to get up and move but the stench was so overpowering that she could do nothing more then thrust her muzzle intot he ground to try to make the pain go away. Though when she did roll she did her best to go toward the nearby river, she knew that the mud would help, and riva's words agreed with that, she shook her head and got up, making a mad, blind dash for the river, though she over shot the shallows and hit right into the rapids, the icy cold water hit her hard and took what little breath she had away from her as it dragged her under and tossed her around, she kicked out as much as she could though she couldn't even tell which way was up and which way was down, though she did feel the rapids getting faster and faster, she knew that there was a waterfall and how fast it was coming up, she could feel it in the flow of the water as she desperatly kicked out to get away from the fast oncomming waterfall, she knew that if she were to go over the waterfall in the condtion she was in, she possibly wouldn't make it, she knew that if she hadn't bit hit by the skunk and so out of breath and blind she would make it but everything was against her at the moment, though at that moment as she continued to kick out she felt her head break the surface of the water, she still couldn't open her eyes, and all she could do was gulp in air before the water threw her down under the surface once more.

She skirted ahead a bit as Meika cuffed her ear and chuckled "Yeah yeah trouble right" she grumbled as they trotted back toward the camp "those dogs don't scare me too much" she muttered now more to herself then to Meika as they approached the camp sight, the rabbit, she was thankful, was still a bit warm. As they reached camp she headed straight for the elders den to give them the rabbit instead of dropping the kill off at the fresh kill pile.

Riva shook her head from side to side befor she herd a splash, her eyes watered from the stench but she cursed seeing the dog tossed in the water befor she bolted straight twords the water, leaping off a rock she jumped into the icy water, her head broke the surface my strength wont last long hear, its too cold she kicked out strongly looking and searching, it seemed forever befor she cought Ravenhearts head brake the surface, and she instantly plunged twords the dog untill she took the scruff of the dog, she paniced a bit for they were to close to the edge, her eyes widdend as she took a stronger grip, the last of her energy was fading she squeezed her eyes and thought of her dead brother and gasped "lend me your strength Jerome" she huffed they were too close to the edge, using the last of her strength she tossed Ravenheart high into the air to where she would land on the safe land, the water would kill a dog if in long enough, her strength was failing and her head sliped under the water as she now fell from the waterfall, falling i will not die hear she thought as her form dissapered

Meika glanced from side to side and rolled her eyes "your foolish Nightpelt" she huffed as she droped the kill off with some cats, she licked her lips "maby i should go out again?"

Akain heard the splash as Ravenheart hit the water and another following soon after and took off towards the falls he could hear them break the water over the rush of the flow and was almost hit as he came out of the trees racing towards them by Ravenheart who now lay at his feet panting. He glanced around and barely caught sight of Riva as she went over and quickly darted out over the rocks with great precision. "Riva..." He yelled trying to catch hold of her at a lower level but missing. "s**t, Riva hold on I'm coming." He called jumping after she dissapeared into the harsher part of the falls. He slammed into the cold water and then the rock wall breaking skin but that didn't matter. Kicking up with his back paw he pushed for the surface. He was taller than them both so it wasnt hard to reach. He glanced around panicked and when she was nowhere in sight he went back under by force of the current and his own will to find her. All he could think about was saving them and then it kicked in his natural wolf instinct to protect the pack. He hated it but in this case it came in handy as he saw her fur in the deeper water and pushed himself lower down releasing his breath to grip the scruff of her neck. The burn of the water going into his lungs and the salf of it hitting his open wound made him nearly cringe and release her but he fought it pushing for the surface under the current of the fall. Finally after what seemed like forever he broke out and pulled her onto his good side to keep her head over the water and fighting the current made way to the bank panting and struggling for breath at the same time.

Ravenheart coughed up water and shook herself, she had heard several splashing noises as she slowly got up, the smell of the skunk for the most part had washed off, though it was still there. She then noticed a turtle nearby and walked up to it, pawing at it and sniffing, turtle shells where great for mixing herbs, though she couldn't tell what kind of turtle this one was. She poked at it with her paws and jumped and snapped at it, though to her dismay it turned out to be a snapping tutrle and snapped right onto her paw, she let out a yelp of pain as she felt her own blood flowing from the bite, and she drew her paw back. The snapping turtle how ever refused to release her paw as she yelped and bit at it, only to have it bite her muzzle and she screamed like a little girl as it did so, she shook her muzzle and tried to make it release, once more she could feel it breaking her skin and making her bleed, she slammed her head against a tree, also slamming the turtle as she did so, she heard a satisfying cracking noise and knew that she had broken it's shell, she only needed half of the shell anyway. Though in the process of hitting the turtle she had also hit her own head and she stumbled backwards, the snapping turtle still attached to her muzzle as she backed up, right toward the edge of the cliff, one of her paws slid off the side but she quickly caught herself as well as she could, half of her torso hanging off of the cliff and scrabbling to get back up as she tried to hoist herself back up, the turtle just now letting go, she saw that the crack she heard was just the sound of the shell hitting the wood and not it breaking to her dismay as it slowly crawled away, she scrabbled more to get back up the side of the cliff.

After Nightpelt had dropped off the plump rabbit at the elders den she went back to Meika "yeah, the fresh kill pile is rather low, we should probably go out a few more times" she said, her tail swishing back and forth a bit as she spoke, the whole dog incident already over with as she spoke, her mind already set on getting food for the clan, her claws sheathing and unsheathing in anticipation of the hunt.

after a few seconds she instantly woke up, her eyes scaned the area as she looked to Akain, she was now hauling her own weight seeing sevral thick roots stick out accrost the water, she looked at Akain, "Akain grab that root" she dove down and came up on the other side of him pushing him twords the side "use it to get out" she half choked on some water befor she saw another exit up again struggling she was rewarded with a rather large mouth filled with bark, hauling herself up slowly she managed to get out befor she colapsed in a heap of fur, the only way she would get up is if Akain needed her help out of the river

Meika flicked her ear in anolagement as she nodded "yea i thought so too" she murmered as she bounded twordes the exit of camp, "hmmmm what shall we hunt?" she asked

He listened to her pulling himself out useing his back paws to grip the ledge and the base rocks, useing the branch to pull him onto the beach. panting he collapsed wretching lightly. "Riva, riva." He panted "are you okay?" He tried to lift himself to look for the others coughing up water as he fought for a breath. "Riva, Raven....." he coughed again blacking out.

Ravenheart scrambled more as she fought to get back up, her hind paws catching some rocks that used to hoist herself back up for the most part before the rocks broke off of the side of the cliff and landed right next to Riva before she was able to hoist herself all the way back up. She bite down on the turtle again, this time careful of where she bit before she tossed it against a rock as hard as she could, she picked it up and tossed it again and again before finally the shell cracked and she used her paws and claws to carefully peel it back, the turtle dead from it "hah, no turtle can beat me!" she said triumphantly as she started to eat the delectable insides, a treat she only rarely got. Once she finished she got up and trotted to the edge of the cliff to see if Riva and Akain were alright, she saw them at the base of the waterfall but on dry land, she let out a sigh of releif as she backed away and picked up the now empty turtle shell before she started to make her way down toward where she knew the other two were. As she trotted she did her best not to trip up or get into any more trouble than she already had gotten into. Once she reached the two she set down the turtle shell and padded over to them "Are you two ok..?" she asked as she sniffed at them, looking for any wounds that she would have to treat.

Nightpelt flicked her tail before she headed back out into the forest, her mouth open to let any scents go over the roof of her mouth so she could catch any scent that was near, her ears perked for any sound that would catch her attention.

Befor Ravenheart had gotten to them she stood unsteadily and looked at him she put her paw on his chest and pressed heard being rewarded with him spitting up a bunch of water she then collasped next to Akain "you shouldnt have fallowed me" she murmered to his still form befor she licked the blood from him and layed her head down as her exostion took her away, she didnt hear Ravenheart approtch at all, she layed still as if she were dead

"hmmmm" she murmered befor she stiffed with the reak of a dog , she hissed, "i think that dogs hear" she growled ligtly as she went to investigate the scent
