i think it is a right (in a way) if they're not letting some people get married
i totally support gay marriage and it makes me mad when people say its wrong. love is love, no one can control it, and it makes me love gaia so much more when i see all of you guys agreeing with me : D

one of my X best friends threw a fit when california made gay marriage legal (for a short period)
she started ranting on how she was catholic and how marriage was between a man and a woman...
I told her that if that's the case premarital sex is also looked down upon in her so called religion . . . she shut up
Marriage is for people in love...it has nothing to do with procreation. People need to get over themselves. Everyone deserves their right to choose who they love

I support it, because I don't see the problem with it. It has more benefits than a civil partnership, and those benefits should be available to anyone who wants it.

Ugh I hate yet love this topic.
I grew up surrounded by gay people. The day I was born, there were 2 gay couples in the room. I grew up thinking that gay and straight were fine. I didn't care if you were a man that liked men or a woman that liked women.
I think I started to realize that this mattered in society was in the third grade. I told my friend next door I had gone to a gay parade. She was a hardcore christian (I was also naive of this) and she asked if I meant "happy" gay. When I explained, she left me there in my driveway and wouldn't speak to me for awhile.
In my opinion, people should be with whoever the hell they choose to be with. For god's sake, if someone told me, "I'm in love with that tree." I would say, "Awesome, what's their name?!"
So I'm for gay marriage. YEA~!

The stupid thing is, marriage is a world wide thing and every religion has its own theorys, practices and beliefs.
Who are we to say that the Catholic etc churches are the only ones who can marry a couple?
The government can get bombed to detah for all i care, America is already far to corrupt and in-effective for their to be any hope of it being the utopia that the media paints it as.

you guys don't have any idea how many fights i get into because of this. it's all this 'oh, the bible says it's wrong' or 'the only people who support it are gay' (which i'm not. i think it's only fair if they want to), or 'marriage is for the purpose of bringing children in this world' (which almost everyone will think is bulls**t, but then again, when i said my intention was not to have children right away when i was married, i was told i shouldn't be getting married. then again, we're both mentally ill, and they wanted me to make him get a vasectomy so 'we don't produce freak children when/if we decide to do so').
i'm mormon, and everyone around this place is mormon (it's utah if anyone cares to know), and the mormon church is notorious for excommunicating gays and saying they are products of the devil and if they really wanted to get right with god, they'd be straight. i'm an enabler for satan and his lifestyles since i am saying that there is nothing wrong with letting them choose to get married. oh, and how dare i say that it's not my place to persecute and judge people, but it's god's.

I'm bisexual.... I find it if i do want to get married to a girl i should and so should others! and i mean serously i know mostly all the girls in the US like watching guys ******** or kiss.... Just sayin...

I also disagree. I know it's in the bible and it's wrong but I'm not going to get mad if someone tells me they are gay or if a gay person talks to me. God gave use free will to do what we want, and we won't make us do right. He does, however, pass judgement on us when we don't do right. I used to wonder if I was gay because I had done stuff with one of my friends. I eventually gave it to God and he took it away. Sometimes I still start to think about it because that want never goes away, but God has given me the strength to say no. God says to love the sinner but hate the sin, and that's what I try to do. I don't always succeed because I'm only human, I'm bound to make mistakes, but I still love like God says, even though I don't love what you do. It's your choice and I will still love you, but it's still wrong and I'm still against it.
