haven't seen the anime or the live action though i've been meaning to... stare but i have read the manga! 3nodding and i finished it emo i swore perfusly at the screen when L died until AU turned the chair away from the computer took the mouse away from me and clicked to go to the next page cuz i was annoying the hell out of her, lolz sweatdrop but i was loving it all the way up until the ending sad the ending just didn't do the rest of the manga justice...no it didn't... crying

l-Shadow of Darkness-l I laughed when Light died. He was a crazy a**. Als, did anyone notice that his last name, Yagami, is Im a gay backwards? rofl That makes me laugh too.

Light DID work hard to kill L, but I think that wound up being a secondary purpose. I think Lights primary goal became to get rid of Rem, and he plotted it out so that L would happen be the one he killed to extending Misa's lifespan. I think the ENTIRE plan, from surrendering ownership of the Death Note, to ordering Misa to start killing again, was to put Rem in a situation where he'd have to kill L in order to save Misa, without directly being involved himself. Getting rid of L was a bonus for Light, not the main goal. I think Rem had become a bigger threat than L, since Rem knew exactly who Kira was, and excatly how he killed his victims, and threatened to kill Light if he ever tried to kill Misa.
Still, I agree killing L pretty much killed the interesting part of the series. Light was never in direct contact with Near, so the games he and Near played didn't really have the same impact. No face to face time made the rest of the series rather boring.

Uh...Light did set out to kill Rem, he hated Rem. Rem said he'd kill Light several times because of Misa...so there for Rem was in the way. Light just killed two birds with one stone. L and Rem.

naw, naw, raito was originally playing with L and then once L started possing as an actual threat his goal became to kill L and while he was doing that he was found by misa who he had started using to try and find out L's name but when rem came in threatening to become an obstical for raito he thought of a way to put misa in danger forcing rem to break the reaper rules and kill L thus getting rid of L and rem! ~ heart

✚...Does anybody feel fat when L is eating sweets? I mean seriously he eats all those freakin sweets like some eating disorder, so I do guess he follows Paris Hilton's advice, bulimia anybody?...✚
