"Definitely!" Mihika found herself grinning at the sound of the lion's laugh. Her nerves about being here were settling despite the looming threat of being on a pride's border. Still she couldn't help but to shake her head at the cub's next words.
"I'll believe ya." She started with a soft sigh, "Bu' not now." No way would she enter a pride willingly. Scary things happened there - so her young mind had been told. One day Mihika decided that she might become brave enough to venture forth, but for now that wasn't an option. She felt so small, so defenseless.
"It is pretta busy!" Mihika's eyes shone with pride. "Ya haves ta be tough to live out here." She blinked at the mention of a quest but shook her head at his last question, "Nope! My family's all gone an' so I'm alone. But I don' mind." After all if she had a home by herself the chances were that she would lose it. Better to never have something than to always lose it. Traveling was a distraction as well...
The young leopard quickly loooked away, "So...what 'bout this quest business?"

Obadias eyed the young juve with a curious look on his face, obviously curious over her reluctance about the pride, but he knew better than to push her for answers. Instead he just nodded, "that's okay," he said, though he doubted she would need his reassurance.
Obadias listened keenly as she spoke, hiding a small smile at her obvious pride at her travels. She had to be strong, to live on her own, he felt a pang of sympathy when she said her family was gone. Wasn't that lonely? To live without a pride and without a family? "I'm not sure if I could make it on my own at there, not at my age!" he laughed softly, thinking of how much he depended on the other members of the pride. They were like a big family, really. "You must be a strong girl," he said.
He blinked, before realising that if she wasn't in the pride, then she probably wouldn't have a clue about the quest. "When any males get to adolescence," he explained, "we have to go out into the rogue lands and bring back a female with us to join the pride and be in our harems." He nodded, as if to confirm what he'd just said. "All our fathers did it, and a few of the older males are going out soon too."

"I guess." Mihika grinned, "Tho I thinks I'm more lucky right now than anythin'." She nodded. "Someone must like me above~" She laughed lightly and looked at him, "Well I think that if ya'd been born out here then maybe ya would be still here today."
"You're too nice to be a savage rogue though." She suddenly stated with a nod. Yup! He'd probably be easily taken in or something though...Mihika shook her head. No telling what things could've happened! Well, lucky for him to have a family to take care of him.
"What?" Mihika frowned, "Bring back? Does the female get a say?" She blinked innocently at him, "Like a rescue or do ya snatch poor females from home?" One side of it sounded rather romantic, but at the same time the thought scared Mihika. She wouldn't want some random lion to kidnap her later! Maybe...if she knew him, but still.

Obadias tilted his head as he looked at her, a half grin on his face. "I don't think it's all luck. I mean, you knew to be cautious of prides and of me, even though I told you not to!" He wasn't going to get into all that logistics again, out of fear of confusing them both again. "It's gotta be more then luck."
He looked surprised at her comment. "Too nice?" Did that mean she didn't think he was as strong as her? He gave a little frown. He was strong! He was just young right now. Shaking his head, he tried to dispel the idea. She probably hadn't even meant it like that.
"Well," he continued to explain. "...I guess it depends on the Pad, that's the male, whether he takes them by force or something. I've heard of it happening though no one in my family would do such a thing." He crinkled his nose, obviously disliking the idea. "Most of the time the pride is explained to the girl and she is asked to return, though sometimes a little force or persuasion is used." The young cub would never do something like that though, knowing it would simply make the both of them miserable.

"Maybe." Mihika nodded at the young lion. He had a point - though she really didn't know. Sometimes she was afraid to think that if she was strong then something would come along to knock her right back down. Just like what had happened with her mother.
"Yeah. Not like it's a bad thing though!" Mihika shook her head quickly, "I mean ya seem like a nice lion. Not that your weak or anythin', just nice." She frowned as she thought about all the tricks and lies formed in the rogue lands.
"I think...I would rather die." Mihika nodded firmly with her eyes shining, "What's the point of havin' to put up with someone when there's no emotion? I would be too busy cryin' to find any solace. It'd be awful." The young leopardess frowned, "Ah. Well I'll look out then - if I'm ever around here when I'm older." She grinned. " Though if they was nice like you, then maybe I wouldn't mind being 'captured.' But never 'gainst my own will I hope."

Obadias looked a little amused at her comments of him being nice. "Thank you?" He said slowly, looking a little confused though there was a smile on his face. "The males in the pride are raised to be strong," he said, hoping to explain a bit more, so she wouldn't think all lions in prides were weaklings or anything. "We have to be taught to hold our own. Females may need to hunt later, but when we're younger we're expected to know how to take care of ourselves." He nodded.
He looked a little saddened by the idea that she would rather die then enter into a pride like his own. He saw nothing wrong with their way of life and thought it was a little romantic, being able to take a female as your own and protect her, while she took care of you in return, though he supposed not all people would see it that way. "Yeah, you'd better not hang around the pride when you're older then," he said, trying to make light of the conversation a little, with a smile, "You'd be too tempting a prize to resist." It was said as a joke, but he did mean it. He was surprised when she mentioned if they were nice like him, she wouldn't mind. He grinned back. "Tell you what, if you ever get 'captured', I'll come and capture you back from them, then you've got a choice." It sounded very much like cub-logic, not always perfectly thought out.

"So they can defend the pride, eh?" Mihika smiled. It was good to know that they could defend themselves, it made the place safer - though slightly more dangerous to her, a rogue. "That's good." She nodded and grinned at Obadias.
"Yeah. I'll be careful." Mihika nodded. With the way she moved it would be weird for her to be near this place even when she was much older. "Aww...now that's not true." Mihika flushed and swept a paw through the air, "Thank ya." She gave an honest smile to Obadias, "I'll be lookin' for ya then. If - if that eva happens that is!"
But talking about how she needed distance reminded her. She looked up at the sky and sighed. It was best to move before it got too dark - that was when creepy things came out. "I should get goin'." The young leopard gave a small, sad smile to Obadias. "We may or may not eva meet again, but I hope we do. Still if not, ya betta not forget 'bout me."
Without even thinking about it Mihika moved forward and dared to nuzzle the lion cub. "G'luck with life!" She whispered with a faint purr before turning to walk away and disappear in the tall grasses.

Obadias watched the female disappear, a curious look on his face. Would they meet again? Unlikely, but he would try his hardest to see her again. She was enjoyable company, and she seemed so nice and sweet. Parvana would like her, he added inwardly, with a little smile. He sighed, he would find her again, when he went into the rogue lands. He'd get his brother to help, his brother would know how to find her, he decided, nodding and turning back towards his home lands. Even if she wouldn't be his, he still wanted to see her again.
