Fresnel Ubasti Shoulda bought a SIG. This s**t never would have happened with a SIG. SIG is epically awesome. I love the SG 550 to death, and the SIG-Sauer P226 is just plain cool, if a little costly. I gotta say, for all the he-said-she-said bickering about every goddamn gun company out there, you never hear anything about SIG. But when you say "I'm considering buying a SIG P226 for my next gun", all you get back is "Yeah, SIG makes a good gun." Similarly I don't hear anything about Steyr firearms.

Only thing bad I heard about SIG was that some batches got a faulty nitron finish which would cause damage to the frames or slides.
But that would be covered under the warranty and would be repaired.

Shrantic Requiem in Mortis Guy's a moron for even buying a Glock. I can honestly say the only handgun manufacturer I hate more than Glock is Magnum Research. You gotta give them credit, though- they made the first widely successful polymer handgun, and they were just starting out, too. Au Contraire.

But nobody ever bothers to rant about it like they do with any other company. Especially H&K. I rant about SIG. Have you ever heard me explain why the SIG SG 550 is the BEST ASSAULT RIFLE EVAR?

Yeah, the SIG 550 is pretty awesome looking. Did you see the SIG 556 Classic? It looks a bit more like the 550 but, it has a couple things still wrong though. However it's far better than the 556 with all its gaudy rails.

It's also incredibly accurate, very durable, highly reliable, and boasts an ergonomic design making it rather comfortable to carry when compared to other assault rifles. I don't pay much attention to the civilian models of the SG 550. I'm interested in military applications, mostly.

First of all, how is it pronounced? "Sig Sauer." Is it "sour," "saw-er," or "sar?" Weird word. Secondly, most of the pistols that they're known for are polymer. I don't like polymer handguns, myself.

SIGs are all aluminum-framed, except their earliest 200-series model was solid steel. Every SIG has a steel slide. As to the name, nobody knows. That's why everyone calls them SIG.
