The easiest way to begin the origin's of this family is to peek at this old plot thread. It is a defunct idea now, as almost all of the family lives in the Refilwe'Oluchi. I'll get to how they got into that pride, too. <3

Korongo'weusi was the last King of the Wind Walkers. Through influence of his own father, and his father's father, they implemented a system of slavery, and any species other than a lion caught would be a slave. Many were somewhat well taken care of in the beginning, but as the royal line continued on, slaves were more harshly abused. Once Korongo claimed his throne from his father, he was the cruelest of them all. Instead of punishing those that were weak or resisted, he killed them. Many members thought this was too harsh, and abandoned the pride. Korongo had managed to drive out or kill almost all the members and slaves of the pride.

His daughter, Barafu'malkia, couldn't stand to see this. Instead of taking her place as heir of the pride, she fled to the southern lands to escape him. Korongo, furious of his daughter's betrayl, sent out his other daughter Zuri'ramla to seek for her, as Zuri was a seer. Or so she had made everyone think. Zuri was a fake seer, using her skills at reading body language and guessing thoughts to convince others of her skills. As she searched the southern lands, she could not find her sister and nearly took her own life in grief. If she could not find her own sister, her father would kill her himself. Instead, once she had found Barafu, Zuri joined her side, and the two stayed hidden as the last two guards of their pride searched them out to kill them.

Eventually Barafu returned home to challenge her father for the throne, determined to stop him and his deadly games. After quite a struggle, she managed to defeat her father, crippling him in the process. Instead of taking the throne as she had said she would, she released what was left of the slaves and disbanded the pride. There was nothing to rule, as she did not want the legacy of her more current forefathers on her shoulders.

Instead, she guided her family as the patron of the family, leading them on as they looked for a new place to live. Within this time she came across a rogue named Ishida, a handsome young man who was looking for his own place in life. One of Zuri's daughters, Tahari, instantly fell in love with him, certain that he felt the same. True love could only be like this! Tahari would prove to everyone that she would not be like her failure of a mother, and she would have her fairy tale ending. Ishida, on the other hand, was quite attracted to Barafu, her confidence being a light in his eyes to what true strength was. Eventually he won her over, and Tahari was heartbroken. Her aunt had been like a mother to her, but even she betrayed her and stole her one true love. Bitter, she keeps close to her grandmother, Kweu'dhulu, who is a very passive and maternal lioness.

Eventually Barafu found the Refilwe'Oluchi, a pride regaining it's feet. She felt that their ideals were close to her heart, and against her father's complaining she had the family join the pride. She found herself in a higher position in the pride, and Elohiem, and her mate Ishida became a Malakin, a warrior for the pride. The rest of the family settled into Ofanim positions, being hunters or watchers or helpers in whatever they could do.

Tahari confronted Ishida once more, certain that he had made a mistake. As gently as he could, he told her that he had never been interested in her, and Tahari's anger at Ishida and Barafu grew. Life was completely unfair, and the burden of the anger was beginning to get to her.

Barafu bore her first set of children, two daughters and a son, soon after this confrontation, furthermore sealing Tahari's idea that no one in the family needed her anymore. The only link she had remaining was with her kind grandmother Kweu, but that would only be able to hold her together for so long. It seems she has been getting headaches recently, certainly not helping her situation...
