Life is Like a Peanut I think One on one rp are boring after a while because how much plot can be put into one rp? If you have maybe 4/5 people then the plot can keep forming making it more interesting. Tho there is a fine line on how many people should be in an rp cause you either A) have too much going on and so many different opinions at one time its just confusing and B) more people = more posts and more people means that more are likely to be on when your not so the pages will move too quickly and then youll get lost and miss out on a bunch of stuff... I know what you mean about getting lost with too many people, but it can still be fun if done right. You have a good point in making it around 4/5 people if you are going with an open plot RP as well as anything like a D&D one. Since we can roll dice it would be easy to keep things fair and honest, the main thing would be to have someone as DM that is here every day or close to it and has done it before. @Kaito; It all depends on who you get into a RP with. If you are lucky, you can get with the right one/group and you'll have fun and be able to keep things interesting. 3nodding As for myself, I had been in a one on one RP with someone for over a year and we didn't cyber once. But then again, I've had a few good cybering RP's with more then one person before. wink biggrin You said once before I had my mind in the gutter, it can't be helped since I'm such a 'dirty old man', lol. I'm pretty sure I'm one of the oldest ones in this guild.

I like to rp, but most of the ones I join either A: Move too fast, B: Die, or C: are actually illiterate but try to hide it by writing super long posts.

I roleplay on neverwinter nights. Since there's a combat element it tends to lend itself a bit more to narrative.
I've never got the hang of forum rp.

Heh. I've had success with Forum RPs, many times, and are currently working on a RP on another forum......
I have to agree, 1 on 1 posting is boring, you really need, at a ABSOLUTE MINIMUM, 4 people.

@wkrpnvb I guess thats true, but it seems everybody nowadays just wants to cyber and it's like god damn get a life. I join an rp because I like the idea, not because I'm some desperate who wants to find a guy/girl to hit on and cyber with, hell I'm 18 and I get enough of that action irl, so it's just one of the things that really gets on my nerves

I dont get the point in cybering i mean i guess if your imagination would do but i mean you not actually with someone and you dont know what they look like and its just ...stupid...Roleplaying is fun cybering is just...boring cause also what if you get bored and they wanna keep going you just stop? Roleplaying forum based it opens put to new people and some are open to leave its a good cycle when cybering is ones fine with where it is and the other wants to stop...making it boring

Exactly, for all you know it could be a 65 year old man on the other end, or some weird kinda stalker, which is why I personaly avoid 1x1 rp's. I've done a few like I said but they just got boring really and now I avoid them all together. If you like it more power to ya but it's just not something I'm into.

Kaito Kajuji @wkrpnvb I guess thats true, but it seems everybody nowadays just wants to cyber and it's like god damn get a life. I join an rp because I like the idea, not because I'm some desperate who wants to find a guy/girl to hit on and cyber with, hell I'm 18 and I get enough of that action irl, so it's just one of the things that really gets on my nerves I can understand you and what you mean. Who knows, maybe I'll see about fleashing out an adventure I've had in mind and see about getting it going. smile As for the RL hitting on, I never really had much luck in that because I was VERY shy and 18 was a long time ago for me, lol. razz @Pixeliciousness and RPGod; If you have a good group, forum RP's can be good as long as everyone remembers not get too carried away and waits for the others in the RP to post. I was in one that was running too fast at times so it was hard to keep up, but it was still interesting. That's why we would need to make sure the group has the chance to be on at least every other day if not everyday. @Peanut; Like most things in life, cybering is not for everyone. That's why I try to make sure of who I cyber with even though it's been a while since I've done any. If I do get this RP up and running, I hope I'll be able to keep it fun for all.

@wkrpnvb I was lucky to get the girl I have. I decided to go to a rave, got caught up in the atmosphere and met a really nice girl and we fell in love. I'll admit it, shy nerdy guy turned raver has it's benefits really.

On the topic of cybering, if the person you're doing it with takes offense to your wanting to stop, they're not the sort of person you want to be doing it with. Sure, it can be frustrating when you're having humpy tiemz and the other person finishes before you, but it's something that happens and shouldn't be taken personally unless they go out of their way to insult you about it.
Hell, I had to stop once because I was laughing too hard at some flower metaphor the guy had used. He didn't take it personally, he got ridiculous and we took a few minutes to cool down and then just skipped back to the actual plot.
Fake sex on the internet is not worth starting drama over, and anybody who does isn't worth the time it'd take to repair the damage done.

wkrpnvb I'm pretty sure I'm one of the oldest ones in this guild. ORLY. I think Arty is in his early 30s, as well as Maf, and I'm close to that. I would love to do a semi-literate D&D style thing. Gaia already has the dice function for that very reason. I myself am able to check in at least once every day, except on weekends, so it would move at a decent pace, but still may take a month or two. That's how long a group of 5-12 people roleplaying with 1 paragraph to 1 page entries did.. with each posting twice a week it would take 2-3 months but still move at a good clip. And of course if someone didn't respond for a while we could either take over their character or have them disappear/die for a while.
