You just told me that you're in your ninth year of high school. eek

If you meant grade 9, the correct Japanese would be:

watashi wa chuugaku san nen sei desu.

Ninth grade in Japan is the third year of middle school. Koukou only refers to high school.

And don't forget the "nen"!

Are you in sixth grade? Because you just told me that you're in your sixth year of middle school. biggrin

To say sixth grade, it would look like this:

Watashi wa Shougaku roku nen sei desu.

Okay, well, Japanese high school is grades 10 - 12. Being in grade 10 would mean that you're in your first year at high school. You would say:

watashi wa koukou ichi nen sei desu.

11th grade would be

Watashi wa koukou ni nen sei desu.
