Just a little side-note... I thought an honorific for a 16th-century feudal lord would be "dono" instead of "domo?" Could just be a typo or maybe it's just me. :U
Or, is that a pronunciation preference? Because both of the characters "mo" and "no" exist in Japanese, unlike "M," so I didn't want others to get confused [This is all just to clarify...sorry for the rant]. （・Ａ・）

I have a question about "senpai".
If I have a classmate who is a higher year than me, but is in the same class, can he/she still be called senpai?
I don't know when it would ever come up, but I've always wondered.

If they're in a higher grade than you, you should use -sempai, even if you share a class with them.

If they're older than you and in the same grade, there's no need to use it. They're considered your equal.

There is a lot more to honorifics than the name suffixes. There is an entire form of speech dedicated to speaking highly of your senpai while humbling yourself. "Keigo" with it's sub-speech patterns "sonkeigo" and "kenjougo" respectively. Both are archaic, however if one plans on ever getting a job in Japan, it's important to know this. This is how you will be talking to all superiors when employed. It consists of entirely new forms and new words that are used in exchange for the normal vocabulary used in non formal speech.

If wanted, I will crack open my books and upload the vocab lists for these annoying, albeit important words.
