Kai looked around the room notice all the kid watching them. She was buzzing with excitment. She couldn't wait for her turn.


Cat watched the new students. They all looked nervous or exicted. Cat gave them a sypathetic smile as she remebered how nervous she was when she was about to be sorted.

Allie watched as Professor McGonagall's eyes went to the next name on the list after Harrison, Cole left the platform for the Hufflepuff table. So far each house had received a pretty equal amount of new students, but Ravenclaw and Slytherin seemed to be the favorites this year. The Professor cleared her throat and called the next name. "James, Alexis!" Allie smiled when she heard her friend's name and she peered around the crowd to see her.

Finally it was Alexis' turn. She walked up to the hat and tried not to look nervous as the hat was placed on her head. She looked at the line of kids in front of her. She managed to spot both Allie and Kai.

A voice appeared in Alexis' head that only she could hear, "Ahh...this one will be tricky. A bright young mind that would fit in well with Ravenclaw, but your heart is strong and pure like the lions of Gryffindor. Hmmm...you are loyal to your friends and I think you will do well...ahh...I suppose..."The Hat paused for a moment as if he was truly considering it then so that everyone could hear, "GRYFFINDOR!!!"

Proffesor McGonagall nodded and then looked at the next on the list, "Kallen, Bethany!" and the sorting continued.

Alexis' face lit up as she heard the name. She left the stool and headed to the Gryffindor table with a smile on her face. It was the house she had always wanted to be in. Many of her relatives on her Dad's side were in Gryiffindor. She couldn't wait to tell her parents.
After she sat down in an empty spot, she looked at the line of kids waiting to be sorted and spotted Allie and Kai. Thankfully neither of them were at the end of the alphabet so she wouldn't have to wait too long to find out what house they were in. She hoped that they would be sorted into Gryiffindor as well.

Luke clapped loudly with the other Gryffindor's as Alexis joined them. "Good on ya, mate!" he said, giving her a pat on the back along with a smile.

"Thanks," Alexis said with a smile still on her face.

The next few names flew by and Allie watched as the line got closer to her then finally, "Lightstone, Alexandra!" Allie stepped forward, noticing that once again her name seemed to have an odd affect on the crowd. A few people craned their necks to see, others simply stared in what looked like disbelief, and especially the teachers all got very still.
She tried to ignore it and went and sat on the stool as Proffessor McGonagall placed the hat on her head.
She waited a moment and then the hat spoke to her, "Oh...you...finally, I was wondering when you'd come along. So where to put you...your blood is pure even with your muggleborn father and you have talent...Slytherin would be a nice place for you." Allie felt that the house was about to choose when she gasped quietly when she saw Lacey at the Slytherin Table, "Oh please anything, but that!" The Hat seemed to hesitate, "Oh? And why not? Slytherin could make you great, you have much potential I can see it...but I see your mind is made..." Allie braced herself as it seemed to collect itself to shout. "GRYFFINDORRR!" The word rang in her ears and she sat in silent shock for a moment before realizing she had to move. She stood up and dashed to the Gryffindor table and slid in across from Alexis, beaming.

Alexis smiled and clapped loudly along with everyone at the Gryffindor table. She knew she would soon have to tell Allie the truth but at least they were in the same house. Now they just had to wait for Kai.

There were 8 people between allie and Kai, three went to Hufflepuff, two to Slytherin, two to Ravenclaw and one to Gryffindor. It was Kai's turn now, "Moretti, Kai." Proffesor McGonagall called and once the girl was situated the hat was placed on her head. Soon the Hat spoke to her, "Right...hmmm a troublemaker eh? But a good heart...not a bad mind either...if only your blood was pure...you would go straight to Slytherin, but...you're strongwilled I see...hmmm..." The Hat was silent before he shouted, "GRYFFINDOR!!"

Alexis smiled as soon as she heard the name Gryffindor. All three of them would be in the same house! This was going to be a great year. She could feel it.

Allie clapped cheerfully as the Hat shouted out Gryffindor. She ws glad that she would be with her friends.

"Welcome Allie!" Luke called down the table while clapping.

Lacey met Allie's eyes as she sensed her gaze. She saw the girl gasp, and give her head the slightest shake. Lacey also observed that her sorting took a few seconds longer than the other first year's. Taking all this into consideration, Lacey realized that she had been given a choice. Her expressionless face turned into a frown. She had been given a choice as well... but she had chosen Slytherin, mostly because her parents wouldn't have accepted anything less. She followed Allie with her gaze to where she sat at the table. Well well well, Allie, she thought to herself, This means war.

Allie nodded in thanks to Luke. Jack was across the table clapping as well. He reached over and shook Allie's hand, "We met in London. Right? I'm Jack, Jack Hancock." he said loudly over the cheering as another first year took their place among their new classmates. Allie smiled, "Oh yeah! I'm Allie, well Alexandra, but everyone just calls me Allie." Jack realized she hadn't made a crack at his hair. He smiled at that, he thought he could be friends with her. He didn't notice till later that his hair had already turned back to normal.

The sorting finished and the whole hall was abuzz with activity. Everyone was ready to eat, but there was still no food. Finally the Headmaster stood and clapped his hands, "Welcome first years, and to our old students, welcome back!" He smiled widely at the students. "Now there are a few changes in staff this year, that I need to adress. First off, would everyone please welcome Proffesor Boiselle, he will be teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts. Good Luck Proffesor!" Everyone applauded as the tall man stood up, he was very lanky and seemed to be a little clumsy. "Also first years please note that the Forbidden Forest is strictly out of bounds. As is the fifth floor corridor on the left hand side, to anyone who does not wish to die a most painful death." The room had developed an eyrie silence, "Now! on that happy note let the feast begin!" The Headmaster smiled and flourished his hands, and suddenly the tables were full of food, and everyone dug in.
