“Then why wouldn’t the guard help you. This sounds like the exact kind of thing they deal with?” Dwight considered many possibilities but it was a mystery to him at this point. The others seem torn by the story. They could only imagine what this guy was going through. It curled their very insides to think of some bandits taking all that form them. Luckily they had no family other then each other.
“We are with you good sir. If you would like to assist us getting back at these fiends your blade would be greatly appreciated.” Mastiff said with a congealed sense.
“What is it you would like us to do?”

The man looked at the strangers who were offering help, then he turned his attention to Dwight who seemed to be put off at the idea unlike his friends. He listened to Dwight's question and looked down at the table, "I went to the guards. It was the first thing I did...but they said it wasn't in their jurisdiction. That they guard the city and not the farms. But...but...they have always helped us farmers out before but now since the marshaling...they won't stop or do anything. When I talked to them...they all seemed pleased about my story for some reason, like they were taking sick pleasure in it. I don't know what to do."
Suddenly a man walked over and put a pint down in front of the farmer, "You have been through a lot good sir. Please have a drink on me. I see you have found your help when guards turn blind." The cloaked figure pulled down his hood revealing a handsome young face. He had shoulder length bright blonde hair and blue eyes. He looked at Dwight and his followers and said, "I am another traveler who wishes to offer assistance against the ruffians; if you will have my blade along side yours that is."

“It depends good sir, how many more of the house drinks are you offering.” Mastiff cracked with a laugh. He seemed to have a very positive outlook on everything, even with the somber man and his tragedy. The others looked surprised that Mastiff would even be that forward about a few more drinks. As simple workers in their own fields fro their Lord they would have never dreaded speaking to a stranger in such a way. To ask for any handouts or practically suggest another man do something for them without it being the other way first was a crime against their skin. It took a second for the rest to catch up but after seeing none of them had been whipped or smacked
“I am sorry about my friend and his outward voice. He is a simple man and the rest of us are not much better.” Samson replied with a bit of a shrug. He too wanted a good drink while they all planned for some kind of action but he didn’t want to come off rude to another traveler.
“It is unfortunate to see the guard stiffening their blades. A sad day it is to find the heroes are no longer doing what they are paid to do. Your story does make my heart shutter farmer. If you can give us some more information then we will find your daughter and remove this threat. I sure do not need to speak fro my friends because they seem to be more enthusiastic then I am.” Dwight said with a shake of the farmers shoulder.
“I don’t know why you had to make that so hard Dwight. You could have just said yes we will help.” Jogard combated as he too turned with Mastiff to acknowledge the stranger with a welcoming gesture.
“I’d be more ready to say yes with a few of those drinks.” Anthony chimed in. “It is good to see another rising to the aid of his fellow people. What should we call you stranger? If their ever to write hero novels about our courage in helping the random farmer you ought to have a name.”

The man smiled and extended a hand to Anthony, "You can call me Leo my good sir." After shaking Anthony's hand he turned to the bar keep and said, "A round of drinks for my new friends here."
Leo pulled out a sack of coins and threw a couple onto the bar. "keep them coming good sir. I shall like very much to get acquainted with my new friends here before we undertake this task."
The bartender looked at the man with awe, he had such a presence. Leo was awe inspiring and graceful. He seem to beam light and justice, almost regal in stature.

The rest of the night was filled with thrills and good fun. With the drinks coming in there was no excuse to not have fun. The five drank away with songs and games, not to mention a healthy dose of story telling.
“So Leo, what do you do? You seem like the kind of man that would just walk into a bar and help some random stranger. There world could use as many as it can get.” Dwight started off with a bit of a laugh. He was slightly intimidated by Leo’s forward heroism. He tried his hardest to avoid jealousy but there was no use. His only option now was to pick sides and hopefully rise above.

Leo laughed with as he blushed, he wasn't used to drinking like this and was slightly sloshed, "Oh I do many things. Mostly help out the innocent of the land. Doing various things for them. Nothing that serious though."
Leo kept throwing down coins to buy round after round and the bag barely seemed to miss the coins he threw down. Dwight was the first to notice this. Random strangers didn't have this kind of money, and then there was his sword. His sword was finely crafted, even without seeing the blade Dwight could tell by the handle's craft that the sword was rather good. This was no ordinary man, there was something off about him. He was hiding something Dwight just didn't know what.

The good times did roll. All five were having a blast with the drinks. Round after round the songs and stories got more and more obnoxious. Anthony could scarcely tell the difference between his hand and his feet. The only thing missing was a group of women to drown the rest away. Regardless of all attending, it was a party for sure. None of them knew what they were celebrating but they all knew for a fact this was the way they wanted their lives to be. Free and fun to be alive.
“So Leo, what actually brings you here? We are mere travelers ourselves but have never seen such fortune on feet.” Dwight spilled in his strongest form to obtain his wholesome self.

Leo laughed and slapped his new friend on the back, "I have already told you friend. I am just a passing traveler who likes to help where he can. But atlas it is late. We should all retire for the evening. Tomorrow we will hunt down these ruffians and bring them to justice." Leo stood up and a stumbled away towards his room. Most of the other patrons had left as well leaving only Dwight and his group in the room while the Bartender was sweeping up. Joa-Boo The good times did roll. Dwight had fumbled through his words. With a twist of his mouth he swore to himself. Of all the question he wanted to ask, of all the things he was thinking of he had to ask the same question again. The pressure for all the right answers hit pretty hard sometimes but he usually managed to get a hold of things. He wasn’t so sure how much he liked this Leo guy but from everyone else’s view point he was impossible not to like. That was just simply another reason for Dwight to not like him.
“What a night huh guys?” Jogard started up in a roar of laughter. The others laughed along with them but most of the buzz had died down. All their bodies could produce by now was a horrible stench and an aching sickness. It was indeed time to call it a night.
“Yeah, we haven’t had fun like that in months. I really can’t handle it when you tie your beard in a pony tail and start bellowing song like a lady Mastiff. You really should give it a rest before I start firing beer out my nose.” Anthony added as he finished the last that was in the mug in front of him. He tilted back in his chair with his slim hands tended behind his head for comfort.
“Oh you yellow bellied sissy. The rest of us all laugh because it’s the closest you’re ever going to get to a real lady.” Mastiff joked conjuring another booming of laughter.
“Alright you two I think its about time we let this man get some rest. We haven’t even purchased a room.” Samson said noting the older man trying to sweep up around the bar. The others blushed at this comment feeling a sudden overwhelming sense of rudeness and apologetically began to get up.
“Before we leave, Bartender, sir, would you mind pointing us in the direction of the nearest inn? Oh and one other thing. Do you know anything about the farmer that was hear earlier and that Leo guy that bought all the rounds of beer. I really wish I could add a bit more of a tip for your kind service today but there isn’t a whole lot I can give you. You do however have our word ever near by city will hear about this pub and the great establishment you have here.” Dwight said as all five of them moved for the door.

The bartender looked up at the Dwight as he approached him. He smiled coily and put down the broom, "This here is the nearest inn my good sir." He walked behind the bar and took down a shot of some type of alcohol.
He stared at the bar for a second then looked back up at Dwight, "If you be serious about dealing with those bandits then your board is free for the night. Those bastards have been killing travelers, raiding farms, causing general anarchy for far to long. Those bloody guards don't give a ******** about us people. All they do is sit around and polish their shiny coat of arms. They themselves are just gloried pigs. And don't get me started on the bloody Marquess, that bloke hasn't done nothing but marshal good men to his castle. Stealing all the men who would defend us from these ruffians, that's what he's doing. Don't give a damn about anything other than his scheme's and power plays. And our lives are the ones wasted."
He tossed Dwight two room keys and smiled. "That farmer is a good man. Always shared what he got with those who needed it. I sometime sent the less fortunate to his place if they couldn't afford my inn. I would personally be glad if you killed them monsters. As to that other fella, I don't know who he is. Just some bloke with some coin, blew in a couple days ago. Started asking questions about the ruffians. That's all I know."

“Thank you. I normally wouldn’t accept such kind gifts but this is not something I can really step away from. It is an honor then to be assisting with the thugs. I’m sure this place will really turn around once they are dealt with.” Dwight said in his most high and mighty voice. He tried his best to not layer it on to thick because he didn’t want to overcompensate. He just wanted a better name then the random guy with lots of money running around and helping everyone.
“Man it really sounds like you guys have it tough here. I really hate to hear that the guard is doing nothing. Apathy is probably the thing that irks me most.” Mastiff grunted as his motivation to show the town what real heroes and knights should do grew. The other four cooed in along with him.
The five gathered their things and moved upward toward their newly acquired rooms. Their smiles couldn’t get any bigger at this point after having a good time at the bar and now getting rooms for free. Luck had really turned for them. The group had to split up because they all wouldn’t fit in one room but before they went off to bead they met together for a final chat about how the next day was going to work. Of course all of which was organized by Dwight.
“Alright guys, I know I sound like a total idiot for feeling this way but I’m not sure how much I like this guy. I really don’t like this town and I think we just got in way over our heads. Are we really going to get into this?” Dwight started them all off with his first few statements.
“Relax about the guy Dwight. He seems genuine enough to me, I’m sure he really is the hero kind of guy he appears to be.” Anthony replied first.
“That’s what I’m worried about. Anything that good has to have some strings attached. I don’t know what yet but there has to be something else about this guy.”
“And even if there was there’s no need to be afraid of it. Come on Dwight, there are five of us and one of him. I bet ya I could take him all on me own.” Jogard growled.
“All then, what about these bandits, we have no idea what we are getting ourselves into?”
“What about them? We are a bit more organized and intelligent then a bunch of low life ruffians. This shouldn’t be too hard. Then once it’s all over we will celebrate with another party like tonight was.” Samson said.
“All right then, it is decided gentlemen. Tomorrow, early morning, we will rise and be battle ready by noon. Make sure we sharpen our weapons and find out all we kind about what we are up against.” Dwight finished. With those last words then men were asleep. Tomorrow came all to soon and now they were ready.

In the morning the gang met back down in the inn's drinking room. The bar keeper was back, he was cleaning up dishes and mugs from last night. It was just after the lunch break so all the peasants had already returned to work, leaving the inn pretty empty.
He didn't pay them any mind, but smiled softly with a nod as they walked in. The gang sat down at a table while they waited. It wasn't long before Leo made his way down. He was wearing a blackened Leather chest piece and simple leather leggings. They only thing that stood out on him was his ordinate sword. Dwight noticed in the better lighting of the day that the hilt had a wolf's head on it.
"Welcome my brothers-in-arms. Are you ready to set out on our quest?" He said, the excitement and thrill resonating in his voice. "I have been in this town for a couple days now and have found some leads. Apperently their is a cave in the forest that people have seen figures walking around by. It could possibly be the hideout out of these thugs. That's where I would suggest we go first."

“That sounds to be the best place to begin, I would agree.” Dwight respectfully answered. He moved closer to Leo so the others could crowd around while they spoke. They all looked Leo up and down to assess his gear and weapons. Any man with money like him should at least be able to put up enough equipment as each of them. They where all moderately impressed until noticing the sword. That piece of work gleamed in each one of their eyes.
“Have you been to this cave before? It would be a good idea to spy the land before just barging in.” Samson suggested as he checked himself over to make sure he was well equipped. He had a few dozen arrows all strapped to him and a well kept bow strung around his torso. Going inside a cave did not sound like the best idea for him.
“Another great suggestion, we will probably want to pull the bandits outside rather then play on their turf. I’m sure there will be a lot more of them then us so it would be to our best interest to have as much space as possible.” Dwight continued Samson’s wishful thinking. Mastiff and Jogard hardly looked amused, they didn’t care what was going on or where it happened, they were going to get to hit a few people and not get in trouble for it.
“What say you Leo?” Anthony asked. It was a question Dwight could have done without.

Leo pondered over the question for a moment, "Samson says is a good thought. We do not know the bandits strength or ability yet so barging in would be unadvisable. Also as Dwight is correct, fighting them in the cave would give them an advantage. However it would allow us to hold off multiple opponents easier. Outside the cave they could surround us easier as well as escape from the fight."
Leo smiled, "Since we are all free men who volunteered for this mission I think we should put it to a vote. I personally think the caves would be better for us. The rest of you?"

“As much as a vote sounds like a civil idea I do not think it is necessary nor should we really contemplate truly entering the depths of the cave. I highly suggest we stick to a more playable zone and either bring them to us or kill them without a fight. As crude as it may sound I think gassing them out would really be the most effective method here. We could start a fire and fan the smoke into the caves. I few others could split off and check for other exits and entrances.” Dwight argued with many points at hand. The four around him seemed to agree.
“A vote never hurt anyone Dwight but just because you got another say in before we voted, just to be sure there are no biases involved Leo gets to add a few reasons in his defense. Then we will truly come to a decision with a vote.” Anthony said in the most honest way he could. They other three seemed to be more on the edge. None of them really knew which method they wanted to take.
“You no what. It’s a good idea Anthony but I don’t think we have all the time in the world. Debates are for the rich, us able men act. I don’t care what any one says I am all for staying outside the cave and killing me some bandits as they come.” Samson said with a heavy ruff.
“I guess if it came down to it I wouldn’t want to be in the caves either!” Anthony confessed with his head shaking as though it hurt him to say so
“Well you wimpey girls can just wait outside while us three hard hitters go to town on some thugs. I didn’t sharpen my hammer for nothing. I want to hit something with it.” Mastiff combated with a pound of his chest armor.
“I most defiantly second that motion,” Jogard added as he high fived Mastiff.
“So that makes it three to three. What then say you Leo?” Dwight finished.
