Is there a manga basis? Or...could it be....that some fan used photoshop(or a simliar program), took a screen shot, and removed the mask? If you can provide a link to the episode that contains the face shot, then maybe people will stop 'doubting'. Til then....don't sound so aggressive.

Q:: Why does kakashi hide his face?
A:: I feel that ninjas are supposed to always hide themselves during their work. So when I introduced Kakashi I had most of his face covered up. Then as I kept introducing new characters I thought Oh, manga is tough when you cant draw the facial expressions. So it ended up as Kakashis special feature.

Q:: Does he always eat quickly?
A:: I think so. A Jounin must not show any openings during a meal. Thats basic, so he eats very fast.

Looks very realistic no? But I think from observations from the background, that this edit came from when they were going against Haku and Zabuza around episodes 15-19.
