He easily kept up with Alainn as she drove into town, he was relieved to see that she was driving safely, despite her mental distress. Rosethorn seemed like as normal a town as you can find. It had a mains street where all the businesses were located. He passed by the local church, which apparently had had some function going on because there was a lot of cars parked there. The bank was off to the side behind most of the other shops. He saw the run-of-the-mill retail chains like Target and Walmart. It was almost hard to imagine that this place was having vampire problems. His 1970 Monte Carlo glided through the streets as he continued to follow Alainn through town, most likely to her home.
Sure enough, after what seemed like ages of driving and navigating the winding streets of Rosethorn, he saw Alainn pull into her driveway. The only problem was that there was a maze of police tape surrounding it, and they yard was swarming with cops. Almost immediately after she got out of her car, the officers swarmed her, and it looked like she was starting to buckle underneath the stress. Allister couldn't stand to watch this go on anymore, he had to do something.
So he pulled up on the side of the road and got out of his car, his fake FBI badge in hand. He found himself running down the driveway and kneeling down at Alainn's side. Immediately a few officers confronted him.
"This is a crime scene, i'm going to have to ask you to leave."
He flashed his badge in response.
"I'm a special agent with the FBI, I was sent here to investigate the murders. She's with me and i'm going to have to ask you to leave her alone. She's under enough stress already."
One of the officers took the badge from Allister and began examining it, he just sighed and ordered the others to back off.
"You should probably come with me." he told her.
But then he leaned in closely so only Alainn could hear him.
"Don't worry, i'm not really FBI, its a fake badge." he told her with a mischievous smile.

Alainn nodded, wiping away tears from her eyes. Just what she wanted, to be bothered by police at her home, even if it was the scene of the crime. She followed him where ever it was he felt she needed to to follow him to, and kept her head lowered the entire time.
As they walked she asked quietly, "What's going on around here? You obviously know something I don't." It was the truth. She only knew that several murders had happened recently, and that her father was the most recent one. What was going on in her perfect sleepy city?

He had to get Alainn out of here, for her sake as well as for his own. He knew that in this state, she couldn't handle all of the police interrogations. He just had to figure out a place that would be safe for her to go. He couldn't go to the Lakefront hotel just yet, but he had to fill her in with at least some of the details of this situation. He got a sinking feeling that she was going to find out about everything at some point. So he escorted her to his car and opened the passenger door for her. Since there were police officers everywhere, he couldn't drive in his usual fast maniac fashion, so he casually began to drive until her house was out of sight.
"You're right, I do know something that you don't. And its time for me to fill you in" he began.
"Every murder that's been committed recently, they're all connected. Those connections are the reason why I, and the rest of team, is here investigating."

Alainn slid into his passenger seat, and put her hands in her lap, nervously. This was unlike anything that had ever happened to her. She did not trust men, let alone most of anyone, and yet here she was getting into a practically stranger's car. She glanced at the police officers as Alistar drove them out of sight.
As he spoke, she became confused. "What do you mean they are connected? And who are you with, what agency? If your badge is fake, and you're not with the FBI, then who, and what team?" She said running her thumbs over her temples. It was all so much to take in at once.

He figured there wouldn't be any harm in at least telling her a little more up front.
"I'm not with anyone, like I told you, i'm a hunter, I hunt people for a living. Criminals, escaped convicts, murderers, you name it. We don't work for the police or FBI because we don't believe in the public justice system. So I guess you could call us street justice, we are the law. We dish out proper punishment when others will not."
"And I guess you have the right to know, because you have a stake in this. My team and I are hunting a very dangerous kind of prey. The same thing that committed every single murder in this town. Our goal is to find it and bring it to justice, before the same tragedy befalls someone else."

Alainn shook her head, a headache beginning to befall her. "Are you trying to tell me that you're some sort of vigilante team of people who feel like their doing the will of God? Like some sort of Boondock Saints kind of stuff, only pertaining to a wider variety of common, and uncommon wealth?" Her thought of this was that he was crazy, but at the same time, she firmly believed in justice apart from the actual system. Somehow, she still perceived the thought as impossible, and crazy.

Allister burst out laughing at her comment, it always amused him when people misjudged him and his pack. Although it was better than her knowing the truth.
"Hahaha, you're not the first person to compare us to the Boondock Saints." he replied with a chuckle.
"But we're not doing 'the work of god' as you call it. God has nothing to do with what we do. We hunt abominations, things that shouldn't be here. One single being is responsible for these murders. That brand of abomination is what we hunt. So tell me Alainn, what do you see that the murders all have in common?"
He was trying to let her figure out on her own, so he technically wouldn't be giving anything away.

"Well, you didn't have to laugh." She said with an exhausted sigh. Her mind was reeling with devastation. Alainn rubbed her temples gingerly as the car engine hummed almost silently under the hood. she tried to make points of what he was saying, and of what he was asking her, but she just couldn't bring herself to comprehension.
"Look, Allister, I appreciate that you're trying to help, but I have no known knowledge of any of these murders. I wasn't even in town when they started. The first I'd heard of anything was last week when the news said it was the third murder in two days." Alainn said, tears streaming down her cheeks, as she continued to fight them away to no avail.
"Just tell me what's going on. The truth. Don't hide anything from me. My father was murdered last night, and I have the right to know the entirety of what's going on."

When Alainn started crying, he patted her shoulder softly and quietly apologized for making her cry. He felt a sharp pang of guilt for having done that. But now Allister really started getting nervous. It was extremely evident that she was going to have to find out the truth. There was no point in lying to her, his conscience wouldn't allow it. So he began choosing his words carefully in his mind, planning out what he would say down to the last letter.
"You're right, you deserve to know. I can't lie to you Alainn, even though I want to, my conscience won't let me." So he took a deep breath before he went any further.
"All of the victims were murdered during the dead of night. When the bodies were found, they were almost completely untouched, except for one thing...they had two small puncture wounds around their necks, and their bodies were totally drained of blood. The bodies were all found in secluded areas just outside of their homes or places of work."
He paused for awhile to let what he said sink in.
"You won't believe me and you'll probably think i'm crazy, but like I said, I want to lie to you but I can't. These people were victims of vampiric attacks. My team and I are vampire hunters. So I guess you could say i'm more like Van Helsing than Connor MacManus."
He then turned away from her and focused on his driving. He was taking her to the Lakefront Hotel to rendezvous with his pack.

"You really are serious about all of this aren't you?" Alainn said in an out of this world tone of voice. "Alright, Van Helsing, I'll believe you. But not because any of this seems logical, but because you firmly believe it. Until I find any reason not to believe you, I'm right behind you." Something inside of her broke a little, allowing her to feel happiness. "Vampires. Ha ha. I want in on this." She became extremely silent. She watched the river flow against them at the bottom of the hill. Alainn wanted revenge, for lack of a better word. "So where are you taking me now, Mr. Vampire Hunter?"

He caught a bit of nervous laughter when Alainn called him Van Helsing. He was shocked that she seemed to be going along with what he said, but he could tell that she was a bit skeptical. But she wasn't crying anymore, so Allister considered that to be a positive. He looked out his window and saw the river flowing beside them. It was a calming sight, water had always had a calming effect on him for some reason.
"We're going to the Lakefront hotel, to meet up with the rest of my team. We need to discuss our next move. If you really want it in, you're more than welcome. I understand the desire for revenge, and believe me when I say you'll get your proof once we arrive."
He was about to continue talking when his phone went off in his pocket. He took ti out to see who was calling.
'Incoming call: Alice'
"I'm on my way right now Alice, whatsup?" he asked.
"Bad news, one of the vampires is in the hotel, it's packed with people today."
Allister's face went pale and his hands began to shake.
"Are you absolutely sure?" he asked her.
"Yeah we're sure, Katherine, Claire and Rebecca are trying to locate it while I inform you."
"Detain the specimen until I get there, i'm about 5 minutes away. I need that blood sucker alive." Allister out.
He stepped on the gas to try and reach the hotel more quickly. When he spoke to Alainn, his tone was devoid of humor, only seriousness.
"Well Alainn, it looks like you'll get your proof sooner than expected."

Alainn gave Alister a look of disbelief. "I thought vampires only could step out in the night time hours. This is obviously near high noon. The sun is at it's hottest, and most highest point in the sky. It's been a while since everything that happened this morning. Minus the police of course." she said almost hoping that her words were the truth as far as vampires went.
"And another thing. How is it possible for there to be any vampires in this town? How would you know if you ever saw one?"

"To answer your first question, the vampire is inside the hotel, probably in blocked off room or closet. They can't be out in the sunlight or they'll fry like an egg." he replied matter-of-factly.
They were very close to the hotel at this point, so Allister scanned the oncoming area for any police cruisers, when he didn't see any, he gunned it. He didn't like his pack being left alone with a vampire when he couldn't be with them, and he figured Alainn could tell that much.
"And as for your second question, vampires love small towns like Rosethorn. Not many people, resident are spread out, lots of places to hide, lots of places to lure people with no interference. Believe me, when you see this filthy leech, you'll know it when you see it. Pale skin, red eyes, slightly enlarged canines, and an alluring physical appearance."

Alainn nodded her head. For some reason, she had pictured a vampire as looking like any other normal person, other than the pale skin. "Okay, so now that we're here, what are we going to do. Find it, and kill I'm assuming?" she said looking at the looming building.

They were now in visual range of the hotel, it was a small, inconspicuous hotel on the shore of a nearby lake. Allister could clearly see the cars of his pack parked out in the lot, they weren't as fond of classic cars as he was. He pulled into the lot and parked his monte carlo as smoothly and evenly as possible. He opened the door to let Alainn out first. But when he looked at her, his face was still deadly serious.
"Once my team and I locate the target, we'll interrogate it to see if it's working alone or with a coven. Once we have the information we need, that filthy monster will most likely be killed."
With Alainn following closely behind, he began to go into hunter mode. He was just glad that this was in the middle of the day, no chance of turning into a werewolf whatsoever.
"Stick close to me Alainn." He told her, as he put a medium sized cross necklace around his neck, and pulled out a large vial of holy water and placed it in one of his trenchcoat pockets.
