Yasmen readied her energy to send an ice spear flying at the Labtech when suddenly her arm throbbed and all her concentration disappeared. She clutched at her arm, and the partially formed ice spear disintegrated in a flurry of snowflakes. "Damn it," she hissed through clenched teeth. Just her bad luck, there must have been something on the needle because her arm was on fire. She wasn't going to let that stop her, though. She focused back on her enemy and forced herself to gather her energy together again.

The throbbing of her arm prevented her from completing the formation of her energy. Yas was starting to feel a little dizzy, and shook her head to clear it. It was clear that she needed to take care of her arm before she tried anything else. Fortunately since her specialty was ice, she could lower her body temperature. She immediately did so because that would slow the spread of any poison from the needle. The cold brought a sense of clarity to her thoughts, and she felt more alert almost immediately. The lowering of her body temperature had an added bonus of dulling her sense of pain, although too much of that could be dangerous. She had better finish this quickly before she took too much damage.

Yasmen attempted another attack, but her control wavered, and her half-formed spell failed. She was having trouble keeping her body temperature cold and fighting off the poison and still managing to attack. She frowned, and focused on the enemy before her and prepared to send another spell at him.
