Once Upon a Modmas

[Xesmereth]

The labtech strode through the door, carrying the grunny from not too long ago.

"He was my friend," the poor labtech said. "He didn't deserve what you did to him."

Xes was shocked, with each step forward the labtech took, she took one step backwards. "I-I'm sorry."

His eyes hardened, and his anger visibly skyrocketed.

Xesmereth didn't want to fight him, but she knew that she had to.

She charged up her Mantis ring and let him have it.

He barely flinched when hit, the lowly 8 damage was nothing to him.

She tried again to hit him, but he was far too quick for her.

Apparently a labtech fueled with grunny rage was quite quick on his feet.

Again she tried attacking him with all of her strength.

Sadly, to no avail.

She tried again, as the labtech lunged towards her. Wow, his reaction time was amazing.

None of her attacks were hitting today! She rolled out of the way, trying her best to dodge his attacks.

As she was rolling out of the way, she managed to accidentally trip her attacker, doing very minimal damage to him.

Xesmereth took aim at the labtech's head, she was getting really irritated with all the misses. Her Hunter's Bow soared through the office, and she held her breath.

Thankfully the shot hit him. So be it that it hit in his arm. It was still a shot.

"Yes!" She exclaimed, her Solar Rays just barely hit him. Any damage was good damage at this point.

Wave after wave of unsuccessful attack was draining Xesmereth's stamina.

She wasn't sure if she could hold on any more.

She sighed in relief as her Hunter's Bow pierced right through the labtech's shoulder. There was only a little more to go.

And another blow landing! She was ecstatic. Her pulse was beginning to regulate again, her stamina regaining.

The labtech laughed.

That laugh…

Something set her off about that laugh.

"What the hell do you want?" Xes asked.

The labtech just smiled.
