``<3 the labtech fell back, more surprised than injured. jmie swatted the grunny away from her, not recognizing it as the one she'd killed earlier. she stepped back a little, waiting to see what the newest intruder would do.

"who are you!" she demanded, taking a moment to fluff herself. jmie didn't trust the being, but was willing to take more luxuries in fighting it than she would with another opponent: this one didn't seem particularly bright.

behind them, a group of cats continued attacking the grunnies, some with more success than others

``<3 the labtech slowly got up, looking at the upturned grunny despairingly (not that anyone could tell, his face was pretty mashed up). jmie glanced at the grunny to see what was so interesting about it, and shrugged.

"so, are you going to talk? we have a strict policy here in jmieland." she huffed impatiently.

the labtech picked up the broken, abused body of its friend and roared, "arreghhh!"

jmie giggled, "awww, is the widdle biddle baby sad that the bunny is dead?"

the being didn't respond, but jmie hadn't really expected it to. she rolled her eyes, tired of the stupidity that was pratically infecting her from being in its presence. she snapped her fingers, and two cats left their partners in fighting the grunnies to eliminate the labtech. [*~

``<3 suddenly, perhaps randomly, the bell began tolling again. there was no visible reaction from anyone, but all over the fields, cats began turning and herding their opponents towards the forest.

the two cats jmie had summoned glanced at each other in silent agreement of which tactics to use in killing the labtech.

``<3 the first cat ran at the labtech, and just as it was about to hit, feinted left. the second strolled casually in a semi circle, back and forth, from one side to the other. jmie settled down, content to watch her cats fight her battles for her. her tail swished happily back and forth at the destruction of her enemies all around her- cats all over the field and hill were winning their fights. [*~

``<3 the first cat's attack missed. jmie stretched out calmly, her front paws rested under her chin. nothing to worry about.

meanwhile, the grunnies, sensing something was up in the more focused motions and directions of the cats, started to lash out and attack more fiercly.

``<3 the second cat abandoned its pattern in favor of striking the being. he used his strong back legs to boost his jump, landing on the shoulder of the labtech. the labtech stumbled backwards, alarmed that felines could fly, and tried to get it off. [*~

``<3 the first cat, preferring not to risk injury to its partner, attacked the labtech's arm quickly, biting deeply.

the grunnies, not to be deterred, attempted to hop away from their opponents and back towards the castle.

``<3 the first cat hung there on the labtech, first by its clamped teeth and then pulled himself up with its front paws, uncaring that his claws were digging into the labtech's (undead?) flesh. the second cat had made its way up onto the labtech's head and pulled out its sabre. [*~

``<3 the second cat struck. the sabre flashed beautifully in the afternoon sun, the glimmering blue topaz embedded on the blade seeking an opponent to dazzle. several slashes appeared on the surface of the labtech's skin.

emboldened by their companion's success, a few other cats started to attack the grunnies with fervor.

``<3 the labtech grunted, unpleased, but did not seem bothered by the attacks.

"fee! attack 349!" yelled out the second cat, jumping off with a backflip onto the ground below. he landed with a thump, and jmie tossed him a tiny blue object. lim caught it deftly, and in his paw it lay, revealed to be a blue buttermint. the labtech sniffed the air, intrigued by the confection.

the first cat, fee, let go of the labtech and the two cats ran a little off to the side, splitting the buttermint in two and each eating a part of it. jmie flipped over onto her back, stretching out her paws in front of her, claws extending briefly. as she did so, lim and fee's bodies started exponentially growing, until they each were at least two and a half times bigger than the labtech. their opponent still looked unfazed, though bewilderment had made its way across his face. the labtech had never seen anything like this before. [*~

``<3 fee took the first strike, making a giant, thundering swipe with his paw. however, his aim was off and barely struck the being, but instead a grunny. lim stepped forward, shaking his body like a lion and growling to intimidate the labtech. jmie giggled as she reminisced playing a certain pokemon game with nyn.

``<3 the labtech, finally realizing that he wouldn't get to kill jmie until he killed the two magically enlarged cats in front of him, yelled "MRUUUK!"

jmie didn't even look up.

the labtech had decided it was time to avenge his grunny, and he wouldn't let two fluffy cats stop him. [*~

``<3 lim's attack proved otherwise. the newly enraged labtech fell back once more, seriously wounded, his painful fall broken by a few grunnies that had tried to run to his aide.

``<3 fee, having not yet damaged the labtech, knew that jmie would only wait so long for his attacks to succeed before taking him out of the battle and thus removing any chance of glory or possibly even promotion. very little cats thought her system unfair, after all, jmie was a very harsh ruler in all aspects. fee glanced at lim, silently begging him to allow fee a chance to attack. lim's hardened eyes gazed back briefly before turning back on the labtech.
