Name: Birao
Name's meaning: Unfortunately it's Basque, and not Greek, but the Birao was essentially suffering or sickness that came from being posessed by a malignant genie.
Personality: Birao is a bit of a puzzle. He's convinced he's cursed with bad luck, but always remains cheerful. If he can't do it, he encourages his siblings to. He's a little ray of sunshine to everyone around him, and in turn is ready to rely on them when his bad luck strikes again and he needs their help.
Future Rank: Depending on how he evolves/recovers from his accidents, either Kinengwe or Pomithi.
Additional Notes: Birao will have a tough little life. At a very young age, he's going to have a run-in with a jellyfish washed up on the beach, the sting of which will injure his paw and confine him for a while. While confined, he'll get and infection which leaves him physically behind the other cubs. Lots of little things are going to pile up to make him believe that he's been cursed with bad luck. Depending on how RPs go, he'll either conquer his bad luck, live happily and fully recover to be a strong hunter, or remain cursed with it, end up with a bad paw, and become a story teller because he is not strong enough to do anything else.

Name's meaning: Latinized form of the Greek Δαιδαλος (Daidalos) which meant "cunning" or "curiously wrought". In Greek myth Daedalus was an Athenian inventor who was banished to Crete. There he designed the Labyrinth for King Minos, but he and his son Icarus were eventually imprisoned inside it because he had aided Theseus in his quest against the Minotaur. Daelalus and Icarus escaped using wings fashioned from wax, but Icarus fell from the sky to his death. Behind the Name page
Personality: Shy but infinitely curious, Daedalus has discovered at an early age an adoration of playing with plants. Or at least, what those plants can DO. Always wanting to figure something new out, he's always on the look-out for his latest victimtest subject, wanting to know what this plant might do to that lion, and what might counter-act that.

Name: Himeros
Name's meaning: It’s Greek for Desire; in Greek mythology it’s also the name of one of Aphrodite’s sons. C:
Personality: Himeros is going to crave love. Not just from his family, but from everyone. The lion will try his best to win everyone over with his kindness and charm. The ocean will be liked by him, but he won’t be overly excited about it. Rather he would spend his time watching and interacting with others. He’s also not a fighter, but usually pretty much a pacifist ( ;3 he’s a lover not a fighter). He also may possibly be a bit overly dramatic about things. Not normally angrily dramatic, but easily and obviously depressed by rejection. Basically he will perfect sulking. But when he gets in a slump it won’t take much to cheer him up. (Honestly I can't ever see him actually hating anyone or anything.)

Additional Notes: –Since Himeros can also represent unrequited love, Himeros will probably fall in love several times when he is older only to be rejected and this may make him lose his cheerful edge for quite a while before finally finding the ‘one’.
-He may try being a guard at first before realizing that he pays much more attention to the tales that newcomers and travellers bring with them to the borders. Soon enough he would come to understand that he is much better at telling stories than being a guard. Especially since he’s such a pacifist.

Name: Cronus
Name's meaning: Leader of the youngest generation of titans, laid by Zeus.
Personality: Cronus is a pure sweetheart even though his name depicts strength, power and leadership, the cub is rather meek and would rather snuggle and purr then scratch and bite. The jokes of his family on one another doesn't really interest him much, but when they're played on him he's a good sport about it (as long as it doesn't hurt his feelings).
Future Rank: Child-sitter
Additional Notes: I think I love this family. He's no wimp, don't be fooled by his sensitivity and adoration for cubs.

Name: Achilles
Name's meaning: It was said that Achilles' mother dipped him in the River Styx to make him impenetrable but held him by the heels. He used this to make him a legendary warrior questing to be noted in history.
Personality: Growing up, the cub will take pranking quite seriously. His mission is to become the best pranker ever. He's constantly on the quest for the best prank ever executed. Sometimes in his quest he seems to take things a little too far but it's all in good hearted spirit and always leaves a smile on his face. It's almost as though he's a prank-addict and has problems from refraining, like an impulse. Although, there is one thing he does not mess around with; the water. Inexcusable. No water past he paws.
Growing up he'll find out how much is too much or the limits to becoming the best, if there are any that is. wink

Name: Hephaestus
Name's meaning: Hephaestus was the crippled god of fire, metalworking, stonemasonry, sculpture and volcanism.
Personality: A fiery and headstrong boy who always seems to be getting himself into trouble. He often takes things the wrong way and picks fights with everyone, much to the confusion of others. He certainly doesn't mean to be so troublesome, and feels bad when he calms down and realizes how much damage he's done. He's simply... a tad dull, you might say, in that he has trouble picking up on social queues, which leads to awkward situations, and his brash nature often makes him respond unfavourably.
Future Rank: Kinengwe, and later nyangumi.
Additional Notes: As he grows older I'd like him to turn to working with his paws (sculpting sand/clay, perhaps), either stumbled upon accidentally or encouraged by someone he is close to. This will be his outlet for his frustrations, because he will seemingly be blundering through life up until adulthood where he finally learns to accept who he is and focus his energy on his "art".

Name's meaning: God of afterthought and the father of excuses.
Personality: As a cub with so many siblings he begins to feel ignored, even though it is not intentional on his family's end. He grows into a slick lion who is excellent with words. As an angsty teen he uses this to his advantage, lying to others for his own end, but when he matures and realizes he had mistreated others he instead uses his gift to pass along stories.
Future Rank: Pomithi
Additional Notes: Epimetheus would begin to grow up feeling wronged and perhaps lashes out a bit more than he should at adolescence, becoming cold and distant towards others. When he nears adulthood, however, he realizes that things are not as bad for him as he thought, and starts to become more social.

Name: Oceanus; Nickname: Oce, Oz or Ozee (but I’m sure there could be a meaner one xD)
Name's meaning: A Titan! It fit the pride, too.
Personality: He’s a big and boisterous cub whose loud nature makes him hard to ignore. His absence is quickly noticed so unless he’s taking a nap in full few of the others, running off on his own often becomes a herculean (eheh) task. Slightly intimidated by the ocean at first, he will quickly learn to love it and it will actually become hard to get him out of the water. He will love swimming despite taking a little longer than most to learn it properly but he’ll have a little trouble with the fishing part and as such will greatly respect those who can do it with a reasonable amount of skill.
Future Rank: Nyangumi
Additional Notes: He’ll calm down as he grows but Oz will always have a childish and playful streak. He will love to become a guard as it will allow him to spend a good deal of time training and meeting interesting folk at the borders.

Name: Poseidon
Name's meaning: God of the sea
Personality: Poseidon loves to stir up trouble between his siblings. He instigates all the trouble, but personally avoids the fights. He just likes to be the catalyst for all the problems.
He is hard to control. His temperament ranges from laid back to stressed out within moments. His emotional roller coaster is a ride that he puts his entire family through.
Future Rank: Mshauri
Additional Notes: As he ages, his personality becomes much more unstable. He's unable to maintain friendships with meaning. Although he is wise beyond his years, his temperament makes it difficult for anyone to take him seriously.

Name: Delphi
Name's meaning: "Delphi is the most popular archaeological site in Greece after Athens. Delphi was considered the place where man was closest to his gods. The center of Delphi is the Sanctuary of Apollo, but Delphi was also a place of worship of other deities, such as Poseidon, the greek god of the Seas and the Mother Earth, also known as Gaea." Plus it's catchy ;D
Personality: Delphi sees the light in the dark, the good in the bad, the joy in sadness. He is an undaunted optimist. However, he is not naive - or at least, will not be as he ages. All little kids are kind of naive at first, aren't they? Though he can see the bright side of things, he will become well aware that there are two sides to the coin, and that you can't have one without the other. Therefore, he will be realistically optimistic. He truly believes that good will come out of everything, that even if the going is getting tough, it will get easy soon. Things always have a way of getting better, even when they seem at their worst.
He is not talkative. He prefers to quietly admire things and individuals. He is not shy, though, and if brought into a conversation he WILL respond politely and enjoy himself in the chat. Most especially as a cub, there will be zero hesitation to play with litter-mates and friends! When I say he is quiet, I mostly mean that he is not going to be overly excited when he talks, he isn't going to be the life of the party, he isn't going to be a leader. He isn't exactly passive/submissive, he's just... quiet!
His hobby, you could say, is listening for everything's song. To him, every living thing emits a music, so to say, a song that wants to be heard and wants to join in the chorus of life. He appreciates this music, and can often times be found swaying to it.
Future Rank: Kinengwe/Hunter ~ I just really like hunting RPs, and I especially like the idea of a fishing lion.
Additional Notes: I quite like/am desperately addicted to strawberries, most especially dipped in chocolate and/or cool whip. Also, even though Delphi hears everything's song... he doesn't sing. Just thought I'd clarify. <3 It's more like, the sounds that everything makes - like, say, the rolling waves - he appreciates so much that they are LIKE songs. Not that he actually HEARS musical notes. It's kind of like how people put thunder storms and whale noises on CDs and listen to them because they are soothing. Am I making sense?

Name: Silenus
Name's meaning: God of the dance and wine-press. C: He was the tutor of Dionysus.
Personality: As his name suggests, Silenus likes to always be moving on his paws. It's almost impossible for him to sit still, always lightly patting his paws against the ground in various rhythms and the like.
He's a sweet and naiive cub, but in the best possible way. It would probably cause him a lot of problems and awkward situations growing up, but he'd just roll with the punches.

Name: Nerites
Name's meaning: "And they say that he was named Nerites and was the most beautiful of men and gods; also that Aphrodite delighted to be with Nerites in the sea and loved him. And when the fated time arrived, at which, at the bidding of [Zeus] the Father of the gods, Aphrodite also had to be enrolled among the Olympians, it is said that she ascended and wished to bring her companion and play-fellow. But the story goes that he refused, preferring life with his sisters and parents to Olympos. And then he was permitted to grow wings: this, it is said, was a gift from Aphrodite. But even this favour he counted as nothing. And so the daughter of Zeus was moved to anger and transformed his shape into a shell, and of her own accord chose in his place for her attendant and servant Eros, who also was young and beautiful, and to him she gave the wings of Nerites."
This story is a favorite of mine, and, really, I couldn't resist with Aphrodite as the mother and Eros as a brother.
Personality: Eri is a playful, yet very vain cub, taking great pride in his appearance, and avoiding things that may spoil it. As such, he doesn't fear water, but he hardly wants to wade through the wet sand and get his fur matted, choosing to avoid it when at all possible. While he is very kind, he has a strange quirk towards others who do him a kindness. No matter what it is, he shows nothing but indifference towards kind actions, as if he couldn't care one way or the other that they've done something for him. The same most definitely does not apply when he is wronged, however, as he is quick to become angered, though never violent. His anger comes out in haughty superiority and insults brought on by his vain side more than anything.
The only thing more important to him than his appearance is his mother, and he takes absolutely no offense at being called a mama's boy.
Future Rank: Pomithi or Nyangumi depending on what's available
Additional Notes: In the story Nerites and Aphrodite were lovers, I know, but the cub will not be in love with his mother in that sort of way. He'll simply respect and care about her as his mother, more than anyone else in his life. Should she pay more attention to Eros, or any other sibling, than himself that could most definitely bring out a horribly jealous side of him in the future.

Name: Ploutos
Name's meaning: PLOUTOS (or Plutus) was the god of wealth. Ploutos was a son of Demeter, the goddess of agriculture, who bore him after lying with the hero Iasion. Zeus is said to have blinded him, in order that he might not bestow his favours on righteous men exclusively, but that he might distribute his gifts blindly and without any regard to merit.
Personality: His name came from him being born blind. He is a kind boy that give everyone the befit of the doubt. He teat everyone equally. Since he can not see he listen to everything and anything. He said he favorite sound is the sound of the waves splashing on the beach. He love to feel thing to, this help try to find out what it might look like. He try yo do thing on his own, just to prove to himself that he can. He never forget anything which is helpful because it make sure he know where thing thing is so he won't bump into thing when he walk around.
Future Rank: pomithi (story-teller), Since he heard so many thing when he was young he would know a lot of story to the new cubs. Never forgetting thing so he will all ways have a story to tell.
Additional Notes: He is blind but is a sweetheart. Even though he is blind he will work his hardest to remember how to get back to beach from the sea so he can do the Rites of Passage to best he can do it!

Name: Antaeus
Name's meaning: Son of the Earth and the Sea
Personality: Antaeus does things most cubs his age do, and that is he dreams. He dreams of a life in the sea, not just on land. As he watches the sea from the shore, his true character begins to show. The sea seems to speak to him every time he draws near to it. While he loves the sea and the creatures it contains big or small. Part of him is still greatly attached to the land in which he lives. Since this land holds something very dear to him, something the sea might never be able to give to him his family. Though he may often act as if they don't matter, he loves them more then anything in the world. He is so stubborn that he refuses to say the words I love you to anyone in his family, he believes only girls say such things. Family though is the one thing that stops Antaeus from swimming into the ocean sea and never coming back.
Future Rank: pomithi (story-teller).
Additional Notes: - As he begins to grow he will begin to feel a greater draw to the sea. The sea will be something like a treasure to his heart. As a Juve or even cub, I'd like him to share these feels with one of this siblings. Depending on how his sibling responds, will let him know if only he understands what is happening. Or if maybe others can understand exactly what is happening to him and that he's not alone.
-Also as a juve I'd like him to meet a girl cub someone he considers a close close friend. Someone he begins to feel a connection with just like he does the sea every day. This person will make him begin to question which is better land or sea? Or if there is a possibly of sharing both?
-Later on in life I'd love if he could see that the sea was calling to him for a different reason. The reason it was truly calling, to him will be because it wants him to share its stories. These stories will be about every species the sea as ever encountered. Some will seem to far fetched to be reality, though the sea will tell him it is only the truth that it speak. As soon as he hears these stories I would like him to be able to test them on someone first. This person might later on show him that his true place in the pride, is as a pomithi since he knows things others only dream of.

Name's meaning: Greek, God of War
Personality: Aris is very arrogant and strong willed. Even at his young age he is a talented hunter, seeming to know the exact moves of his prey before they play out. He can be overbearing, at times, but has learned through trial and error to respect his elders.
Future Rank: Kinengwe, Hunter
Additional Notes: Aris would be ready to fight many cubs over petty squabbles, but wouldn't in most cases. As an adult, he would be slightly more levelheaded, but still temperamental.

Name's meaning: Greek, God of Justice and Order.
Personality: Themis is very much like his namesake. He is a very intelligent and unbiased cub, frequently passing judgment over other cubs. Though he is very smart, he lacks social grace and is often found by himself.
Future Rank: Pomithi, Storyteller
Additional Notes: Themis would end up have a few close friends, but would be relatively anti-social until his Rite of Passage. That would, potentially, open him up and form him into a great leader.

exclaim Just a note as I see this is occurring, and I overlooked this, but only normal ranks are available. The normal ranks are: Kinengwe (Hunter), Nyangumi (Guard), Pombuka (Cub-sitter), Pomithi (Story-teller) and Mwani (Healer).
Council ranks (Mtaguso-maji) and Mshauri ranks are not available. Council ranks are only given out to those very active in the pride and through applications only; which have already passed for these ranks. Mshauri ranks are only given out to those that are seers or are active and selected by the leader of the pride.
Therefore, if you have selected one of the two unavailable ranks, please change this section of your form accordingly. Thank you!
