“That is an unfortunate loss. M would have been a great allie to begin this war.” Crux cringed at the word. It was hard to believe it was really coming to this. War sounded so wrong, yet another reason why their enemies had to fall. They brought war upon us all.

“I will bring a small number of men with me around to their gates that the people will flee from. I will initiate the attack by blocking off their exit and hold that ground while the slaughter commences. If someone could hold off their communication with the southern district then we could have a lot of them finished off before our real enemies show up. Muez will back me up so I am sure I will be able to hold anything from leaving their district into the safety of their country. Another good idea would be to set some kind of trap for our blind friends when they come to rescue their alliance. If we get them where we want them it could be an ambush or possibly an assassination.” Crux continued as he imagined what he would do in a team fight within the league.

Brellio laughed, "I did not know that the Shield of the North was so tactful! That is a brilliant plan. In fact I volunteer to lead the forces moving to the south gate. I will hold back the Javell forces for as long as possible."

Bammer snorted, "I will not be apart of the slaughter of civilians." Bammer slammed his fist onto the table and spat onto it, "Is this what we are reduced to? Slaughtering civilians? Where is the honor in that?"

Bellacrin laughed, "Where was Vas' honor when he killed our guardsmen."

Bammer eyed the Crawler, "They were armed guards, these you mean to kill are not. I will have not raise my ax against unarmed innocents. I am surprised you would Crux." Bammer's eyes shot shame into Crux. Bammer felt betrayed, he thought his friend better than this.

Brellio raised and arm between Bammer and Bellacrin, "I hear you Bammer, if your honor will not allow you to act thus then I have a suggestion."

Once more Bammer snorted, "And what is that you piece of metal?"

Brellio laughed, the laugh (like all of his speaking) had an echo effect from bouncing around the armor. The laugh was sarcastic and if Brellio would have had a face it would be scowling. "If you will not fight the Yultans then take my place at the South gate. You can face the armed guards of Javell."

Bammer eyed the armor and then nodded, "Fine."

Bellacrin laughed as he clasped Brellio on the back of his armor, "Very well done Brellio. Such the giving man. Now then shall we set out?"

“Bammer your words would murder me. I mean only to protect the honor that is N (sorry Tyler). Any and all civilians of our enemies are just soldiers waiting to happen. Besides Vas didn’t get the opportunity to kill any civilians. I am sure he would not have hesitated. I hear you great friend. This is a murderous effort that will stain my hands but I feel it necessary to protect that which is right. On that conscious only do I this grave deed. I will forever seek your forgiveness if this should belittle mine honor in your eyes.” Crux said taking the cold look as a mortal wound that festered inside him. Was this what the dream he had meant? Is this what it came too? "Brellio your words are kind. The way I see it, if an old man like me didn't know a few tricks in fighting like these what good would I be. Wisdom is somthing I have to offer.“As for the rest of you, I pray good speed and victory. For Necoplia!!!” Crux yelled as he shifted into bone form and raised his bladed arm into the air.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 20, 2011 11:55 am
Bammer looked away from Crux and stared back down at the map, "So we have close to a thousand guards no? How are we to divide them?"

Bellacrin and Brellio moved their attention to the map as well. The guards were assembled in the Northern district and ready to move into action. Most were thirsting for a chance of slaughter.

Bellecrin cleared his throat again to gain the attention of the assembled heroes. "So the guards are going to be divided into three forces obviously. Crux will lead a force around the outer wall to block the Yultans in. Bammer will lead another force to cut off the assitance of the Javellian guards. Whilst this goes on Brellio and me will be moving the main troop to the Western district to raid it. The Crux, you will be given regiment and a half to block the outer wall. That's a 150 guards. Bammer you will also have a regiment and a half. This leaves me and Brellio with 700 guards to assult the district with. If there are no question lets return to the district and divide our forces."

Crux and his men were ready. He had a large group of them, more then enough to block off the exit. They would cut off all the Yulta fleeing the city and then hold the rest in. This was the plan.

“Muez, you stay hidden outside the walls and listen for any orders I give. Make sure you keep those gates closed and try to keep any of the Yulta you can off of working any machinery that could aid them. I’m not really sure what they are all going to do in reaction to our attack but their confusion will help us to figure things out quicker. I am fairly certain none of you posses the same endurance that I do so I want you to make a wall on either side of me, 40 per wall. I want you to stager yourselves and stand in 4 lines of 10. After a few minutes of so of holding then line, I want you guys to switch. The front line will slink back to the back line and all the others move forward. I will stand in my space and hold it for days on end if I must. Just keep yourselves fresh and focused. Everything you see in that district that isn’t wearing the Necoplia armor is your enemy. Don’t ask questions, just kill. Your work here will be greatly rewarded in the future.” Crux assured his men as they neared the enterence. All they had to do now was ambush the walls. Kill the guard near by, and then close the gates. Muez had a hold of some bugles that he would play to signal the other teams once they attacked.

Crux could tell the nerves in his regiment were on edge. They were worried and scared. The arrows from the hero they may have to face was nothing they would live to see happen again. He had to be ready to deal with her when ever she did show. Although she may not be with the Yulta because last he heard was she assisted the ambush with Vas. If they could stop both Vas and the archer in one battle the rest would be one. One could only hope for such a victory but Crux knew something that good would never happen. Something about this whole battle felt weird. As though it would not end they way they hoped. Regardless it was game face time.

“For Necoplia, charge!!!!!” Crux yelled with his booming voice. The shield of the north ran for the Yulta entrance, trampled over a few guards that had their back to him and then brought himself into the middle of the entry way. He drew an invisible line around him, showing everyone just how far of a reach he had and the area that he owned. Anything that came within that circle would have his bone sword through their body. “Yulta, for your crimes against tradition and honor, your lives have been forfeited. The Shield of the North will have justice.” Crux yelled as the instruments Muez had sounded off. It was a messy fight. No one really knew what to do. Death on both sides occurred everywhere. Crux did his best to assist his soldiers until finally their lines where made. A strict wall around the exit was made and Muez brought the gate to life. From out of his fingers, long wires that stretched extremely far climbed up the walls, giving Muez the ability to provoke life into them and control them like a puppet. As soon as he could feel the control he snapped them shut. The remaining 70 soldiers he commanded to watch the gate from the outside. Muez was well hidden in the perch of a tree far form the commotion. A total of 10 thin wires stretched outward from his body and climbed all over the walls, searching for something to posses and attack. He lifted the bodies of dead soldiers, using their armor as another puppet to fight. Another 10 wires that stretched form his feet wrapped around him to posses the forest in case he was attacked.

Bellacrin and Brellio lead their 7 regiments toward the front entrance of the Western district. Their musketeers were out in front followed by their spear men. Bellacrin took the front right two and a half regiments while Brellio the left. They had planned to simply storm the gate and slaughter the district. It seem like a good idea in theory.

As they approached the front gate of the district they found why the Yultans were taking their time in fleeing. Their guard had organized a defense on the inner wall that blocked out the district from the rest of Kalbor. About 400 guards on the inner ramparts. As the Necoplian forces approached muskets opened up on them and slaughtered their front ranks.

The men not use to whole sale slaughter fell back to the nearest buildings.

Brellio cursed, "Damit the bastards anticipated our assault Bellacrin. How are we to get through their walls? Our men wouldn't live long enough to clear them off the top of those ramparts."

Bellacrin looked at the wall in the distance and pondered. After a minute he smiled and laughed, "Well I guess you and me will have to open the gate for the men then."

Brellio turned towards his partner, "And how do you suppose we do that?"

Bellacrin replied, "Easily, you are indestructible against their musket fire, approach the gate draw their fire while I crawl up the wall a ways off and sneak into it. I will open the gate from within while they are focused on you."

Brellio laughed, "You truly devious Bellacrin." Bellacrin simply smiled as he jumped onto of a nearby building as he sought an open spot to climb on the wall.

Calik The Wolfman had been guarding the first batch of refugee's fleeing from Kalbor. They had escaped from the walls before Crux's forces had arrived and thus escaped. Calik was almost back to the wall when Crux and his men charged the outer wall. He heard the sounds of the fighting and jumped onto all fours to go faster.

He needed to get back to the wall before his men were slaughtered. He only had 200 men at the back wall. The rest of the men had been assigned to guard the front walls from possible assault. The 200 were meant to keep the civilians in line, they hadn't expected Necoplia to lead an attack from outside Kalbor. Was it arriving reinforcements? Or had the Crawler detached some of his guard to circle around them. Regardless he had to make it back to the wall.

He was aways from the edge of the woods when he smelt something familiar. Not something but someone. It was someone he had met before; but who. Suddenly the smell dawned on him, it was a Necoplian champion by the name of Muez. Calik smiled, so the puppet master was part of the back assult, at least that likely meant it was part of the city guard attacking the gate and not reinforcements.

Calik stalked through the woods silently as he moved towards the source of the scent. Given Muez's fighting style he would be off from the rest and therefore vulnerable to Calik. Calik turned into his half wolf-half man form and moved slowly. Within a minute he could see Muez hiding in the tree a couple hundred feet away from him. He stalked up as close as he could and jumped at the vulnerable puppetmaster. (No Muez can not sense or know that Calik is about to hit him.)

Bammer marched his regiment and a half towards the soutwest gate entrance to the Yulta district. From the sounds in the air the others had begun their assults. The suited Bammer, his side should be lightly defended since it was bordering their allies. His men were hooting and hollering for blood, excited to be fighting at the gate and not just slaughtering helpless civilians. Bammer's troop really had the most honorable position on the battlefield.

When the gate they meant to take neared Bammer halted his unit. Bammer wanted to check out the gate by himself and see what they were expecting. He creeped up through the ally ways and buildings till the gate came in sight.

It was not as they expected, there had to be close to three regiments up on the gate. Most were Yultan guards but some Javellian guards were also posted up there. This concerned Bammer, he would be assaulting a fortified position with about half as many troops; plus however many champions were also on this side. He sincerely hoped they had all went to assist the other defenders elsewhere.

Bammer moved back to his troops and called the Lts. "Okay so the defense is heavier than we expected, but I am going to grow to full size and topple as much of the wall down as I can. When I start growing launch your assault. Hopefully toppling the wall down and the surprise attack will be enough to capture the gate." His Lt.s nodded and moved to spread their troops to attack.

Bammer went into the main street leading to the gate, insight of the gate who defenders rushed to ready themselves at the sight of him. Bammer laughed as he grew to the size of wall itself, about 3-4 stories, and started to lumber his way to the wall. It had been years since Bammer had gone full size; the arena was too small for him to grow that big and it stretched his enchanted armor to expand to that size with him. Unfortunately he had no weapon as he had found no enchantment that would allow it to grow with him.

Behind Bammer came his forces who were all but unnoticed by the defenders. The defenders fired their muskets towards Bammer but the bullets were like pellets against him. They barely punctured his skin and Bammer boom a laugh that shook the windows as he neared the wall.

Crux held his line with the 80 men he had. The staggered lines gave a perfect straight for both gun fire and soldiers with spears to defend them. It was an all out slaughter from the inside. Fear, however, crept into his bones. Bellacrin should have been here by now to finish them all off so that the army could regroup for the oncoming Yulta forces. This slight step back could make things get very ugly. Crux looked around to find any opportunity he had to make things easier on them. There portion of the fighting was well secured. Many of the civilians had been killed and the little there was to fight didn’t put up much of any. Things were not finished though. So many people would make it out if he moved off his line now.

“Come on friends. Pull together. We can win this still!” Crux said to himself as he cleaved the weapon from a soldier and then shoved his bone sword through their chest. He just had to be patient now. He needed to be calm and alert, two behaviors he was very good at producing. He closed his eyes and let the sounds of everything facilitate the mess around. Everything was fine until he noticed a few of Muez’s puppets go down. The bodies plummeted with no life as they did the first time. Nothing finished them off or came into contact with them. They just became in active. This was a sure sign that Muez was probably in trouble. “Men, I need 20 or so of you to dispatch to the woods on Muez’s location. Something is up and he may need your help.” With Cruz’s words 20 swordsmen took off at a run for the woods.

Calik was a devious foe. He possessed a great power that posed a huge threat to Muez. His stealth like ability and keen sensing allowed him to weave through Muez’s field of perception, making the puppet master, who is allow about the sense of touch, completely blind to the fist making contact with his back. It was a hard hit, enough to knock Muez out of his perch. A mumble of pain broke through his sown shut mouth as he fell. A web of tree limbs tied around Muez’s fall, bringing him into a cradle and then carrying him to a further tree. Calik could tell by the way that he moved he was pretty hurt. He quickly retracted a few of the puppets he had up at the main battle to gain more of a field around him. As soon as he moved the forests fluxed. All the limbs and tree parts reconfigured in started to flail in a matrix of movements all on Calik’s position. He used one of his remaining wires to configure a face in the hole of a tree and gave it a voice.

“Calik, why it is so good to see you,” Muez started. “Have you gotten your daily does of fiber?” The tree’s moved all around in waves of motion, tearing up everything around.

No one appoarched Crux and his line. The soldiers escorting out the civilians weren't expecting to be in combat and were caught unprepared. After Crux's inital slaughter no one dared oppose him. The guards ushered the civilians back into the buildings to hide from musket fire. The wall do blockers were left alone standing in the gateway.

The men that Crux had ordered to return to Muez were unable as they were stuck behind the gate they had dropped down.

Calik jumped from the tree branch Muez had been on as it came to life. His luck though put him on another of Muez's trees and forced him to jump again.

"Dammit you are your puppets," Calik cursed as he slashed away a small branch that was singing at him. Calik howled and jumped from tree to tree trying to dodge flailing limbs. Leaves scattered in the air as the tree swung, blocking Calik's view of Muez; however his incredibly powerful ability of scent was still active and he started jumping towards where Muez had run.

"You can't hide from me Muez, I am the best damn tracker there is. I'm gonna sniff you out and tear you asunder."

“I do not hide you mutt. I will but only elude your ill sense of reality.” Muez said through a collection of branches that jumped in front of Calik’s way. They dispersed almost as suddenly as they came together and then worked in waves to swipe the wolf from the tree tops. Muez never stopped moving. The blanket of branches passed him along, tree by tree, further into the forest. His connections worked in sync with his movements to keep a protective layer around him at all times while constantly keeping Calik in view.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 26, 2011 2:16 pm
Calik watched as the controled trees switched instantly with Muez, "ah hell really? This is going to be piss annoying." Calik howled as he jumped to an uncontrolled tree to avoid be smashed by a branch swiping at him.

"You can run all you like Muez when I get to you I will tear your limbs off. You vile creature, attacking innocent civillains fleeing for their lives. What justify your actions? The actions of Javell? Well we arn't Javellians you monster. You are a worthless murder and I will bring you to justice for the killing you and your men have done.

Bammer towered over towards the wall as his men marched in behind him. The Javel guards and the Yulta guards failed to even notice the Necoplia soldiers advancing with Bammer, all of their attention was focused on taking down the monster.

When Bammer made it to the wall he swept across it knocking soldiers to and fro, sending some spiraling down to their death on the ground. One soldier who survived the fall was speared by an advancing Necoplia soldiers, but not before he had the oppertunity to shout a warning up to his comrades.

With the shout the soldiers on the wall realized the regimenta advancing on them and fled the wall. They wouldn't be able to hold off Bammer and the regiments at the same time.

Brellio walked slowly towards the main gate of the district. As he did musket bullets pelted into and around him, thrusting his limps to and fro impeding his progess rather serverely. Brellio screamed in pain constantly as the balls kept on coming. Nothing they had would do lasting damage to Brellio, but it hurt him alot to be shot repeatedly. "Where the devil is Bellacrin with the gate!"

“We are all puppets on a string. The only one with any justice is the one pulling them. At least, from the relative standpoint, they make the justice. Other than the reality they create there is no such thing. Those people and their lives were forfeited as soon as your kind chose a different master and brought chaos upon us all. I want peace as you would mut, I just don’t want your kind of peace.” Muez cackled with the use of his puppets.

Muez continued backward into the forest with the wild chase behind him. The wolf’s hit had him scared. He had to keep up his best if he didn’t want to be pulverized. But now something more pondered in his crazy mind. There was a lot more going on here then a fight and that was clear. Both of their worlds were rapidly changing.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 24, 2011 6:48 pm
"We are not of the South! We didn't slaughter your men. All we did was refuse the call to arms. This blood is on your hands Muez. The ophans you have made. The brothers and fathers you have killed. It is your fault." Calik said spitting onto one of Muez's trees.

This was getting Calik nowhere. If it had been a straight up race then Calik could have caught up with Muez by now; however the damned trees slowed him down enough that Muez kept moving through the forest. The chase had gone on for a while now, they were miles away from the city walls now and Calik smiled.

He jumped backwards away from a tree swipe and started to retreat with all speed. There was no point in this chase anymore, he was just wasting his time there. Without the trees attacking him Muez had no way of outrunning Calik. He would be there long before Muez could make it back. That was also suggesting Muez caught on immediatly, which being blind would be impossible. Muez would likely go on running through the trees for a mile or so before noticing Calik's disappeerance was permant and not some stealth tactic.

Bammer laughed as he shrunk back down to his normal short size. The Captain of his guard came up to him and bowed, "You did most excellent my lord. We lost very few men in the attack and have captured this junction. The Yultan troops are now trapped in their district. This should be an easy fight."

Bammer looked at the Captain and grinned, "True, but the Yultians inside the walls are not the threat Captain. They have enough to worry about with Brellio and Bellacrin assulting the front. We have to worry about the Javielen soldiers over there." Bammer pointed toward the Southern district next to them. The two could still barely make out the fleeing visages of fleeing soldiers into the city streets. "Unfortunately they could march all there guard and overrun us easily. Plus most of the guard from Yulta fled that way when they split. No this battle has just begun."

The Captain leaned on the southern edge of the wall looking over the city in the noon light, "Do you think they will march the whole of the guard this way my lord?"

Bammer laughed, "I doubt it. They will split it up some. There are more places to attack than just this junction. No we might get a couple regiments, but not all."

Bellacrin climbed up the wall silently. The soldiers atop the wall were too busy firing helplessly at Brellio to notice the Crawler's ascent. That is until Bellacrin jumped on top of the wall and drew his duel swords. A smile flashed across his face as the swords flashed around him slicing every which way. Men started to fall as they broke from shooting at Brellio to aiming at Bellacrin.

Taking a deep breath Bellacrin vomited up a stream of toxic gunk onto the soldiers around him. The slime was corrosive and poisonous to the touch. Those unfortunate to get covered by it died a painful death. Men started to scream as Bellacrin spat up more and more of this toxic slime onto the men manning the ramparts.

Hearing the shouts above Brellio laughed and yelled back to the regiments hiding in the buildings, "The gunners are distract by lord Bellacrin! Charge with all the might of Necroplia!"

The men broke from cover charging the wall like a tidal wave. Some Yultian gunner behind the main gate opened up on the wave; but they were far to few to stop the blood crazed Necoplians. The Necroplians hit the wall and some started to scale the wall's loose mortar while others fired into the retreating soldiers on the other side of the wall.

Crux and his troops still held there ground at the outer gate in the Yultian district. No one had yet felt the courage to try and break through Crux's impenetrable blockade. An occasional shot rang out from both sides as gunner took pot shots at one another to no avail.

The guards were starting to get bored when the sound of a horse rushing could be heard behind Crux's troop. A voice suddenly rang out, "My lord, my lord! Urgent news! The Mistress of the Wind has lead two regiments of Javel into our own district and is taking revenge for your blockade. Men, women, children it makes no difference. They slaughter in the name of vengeance. No one could reach Lord Bellacrin so the Magistrate has taken the liberty of ordering you back to the defense of the district my lord."

“I of course would be the best choice. What could her arrows do against the Shield of the North?” Crux yelled while filled by a distinct dismay for the news he uncovered. He shifted from left to right, searching his attention about the court yard for ideas to come to mind. He needed to get to their district fast but traveling the entire length of the outer wall may not be good enough. “Blast, why hadn’t the people fled to our country like I also suggested. I did not expect any of their forces to be able to mount their own offensive feat.” Crux was beyond mad. This should have been accounted for. Someone was to blame but not Crux, he did his part.

Crux motioned his group of soldiers forward into town at a run. The sudden change in their pace and stance surprised all that were watching. Crux would be on the back wall of the men fronting the other Necoplians soldiers in no time and then they would have flanked all of their soldiers. Crux didn’t want to fight much, but he would do as much harm as he could while pushing through. He charged through the first few lines of unknowing soldiers, turned to face them, and then shielded up so his men could take them out while they focused on him. If they didn’t, then he could continue running.

Muez dropped the ability to sense the wolf. He stopped on the dot and extended those few wires closest to the wolf outward in all directions to gain the largest view. A smile formed on his face.

“well well, did the Calik finally realize that he is to far from the action now. He won’t be able to get back in time. Speed to all of you Necroplians. I did my part. Now to cut off anything else trying to feed the city.” Muez added turning toward the direction of the long road toward the center city. He would wait there, scouting with his massive field of view given to him by his wires. It was a chance, because the only way he would notice something is if they came into contact with something he was controlling. His remedy for this was always build a puppet. A master puppet maker, it only took him a few minutes to bake up a few twigs and tie it together to create something that would stand and move. It was a novice puppet to say the least but he didn’t need it to take on any enemies. For now it would be his eyes. Not many people could resist such a strange thing standing in the middle of a road. With a few of them, it was even harder. As soon as some one interacted with them he would know all he needed to. Muez did this while slowly moving back toward the city himself. He might be needed there.

Crux and troops rushed through the skirmish lines set up along the city gate. There was double the amount of guards in the city than Crux had, but they were spread out over a larger area. This made it easy for Crux's unit to break through the line with relative ease, slaughtering more civillians as the moved through the streets.

They got a couple blocks into the city before the wings of the line folded in on them and started to assail them from the side streets. This slowed Crux's movement but they were still edging there way towards the main body.

One of the Necroplian soldiers looked at Crux as he stabbed his spear in a Yulta's soldier, "My lord we arn't moving fast enough. My family, my family is in the district. We need to get there fast," he said with a grunt of rage. Other soldiers grunted in agreement.

The Sargeant of the guard that was with Crux made his way over to Crux and said, "My lord they are forming in our front, and we will be on the main body soon. This will be a slow going if we can get through at all. We are miles off of the main gate as it is. The back is still clear though my lord They haven't thought to form up behind us. Might we fall back and try and return to the district from outside the city?"
