A pair of nobles in the Juu’Kilele pack, they were each betrothed to an almost complete stranger at adolescence. The independent Amaru was certain she would hate being shackled to a male she didn’t know, and Calael, while he accepted the news with poise, had a few private fits about his life being decided by someone else. Their first meeting was admittedly rather rocky because of this, but duty and honor had to be upheld and so they were each determined to tolerate the other. At least, that was what they thought at first. Perhaps their parents had known something that they did not, because in only a few short weeks the pair who would give up love for duty had found their heart’s true mate in fulfilling said duty. Most to see them would think that the pair had been childhood sweethearts rather than the product of an arranged marriage, and while both are mature, responsible adults it isn’t hard to find them being cuddly and cutesy when they’re together.

About her: Flighty and easy to please, Zao is one of those girls that you just know her mother is watching her every minute of the day. She's easily fooled, and as such, she was taken advantage of by more lions than she could count. By the time someone came around that didn't just want a quick fling, she was a little worse for wear and less trusting than in her youth. But, in time, she finally caved to her savior and stuck with him, even when he started to show another kind of personality. One of an abusive and possessive nature. But she was blind to it, in love yet again to another lion. It was when her belly grew round that she started to pick up on little things, like late night travelling and various scents lingering on her beloved's fur. In one of his excursions, she followed out after him and saw things she never would've thought, her mate with a harem's worth of females similar to herself, and with her heart torn she chose to escape him, leaving before her cubs were born to have them in a safe environment, to watch over them.

Frayda is a kind and gentle soul who cares much for her family as well as total strangers. She believes that everyone has a goodness in them, some just need a little time or care in their life. She cares very deepily for her mate Vale'tine and would do anything for him, even at the cost of her own life. She is a strong female who would stand up for herself and let others know when they have gone too far with their actions or words.
Vale'tine is a bit rough around the edges, but with the help of Frayda his attitude to others is changing. He doesn't fly off the handle as he used too. Frayda is the one 'joy' in his life and he shows her this daily. Actions speak louder than words, is his philosophy.

How they met is an interesting story, Vale'tine had wandered near the border of the rogue lands to an area in which he had never been before; Peke'Na. Frayda had just been about to bath when the sound of yelping and splashing further up stream had distracted her. The scene was almost comical when Frayda arrived, poor Vale'tine was wiggling about with a small water creature attached to his bum. Frayda was his rescuer coming to the wet-raggled wild dogs aid. They both had a good laugh that day, and then they began to meet eachother daily.Underneath the willow tree that was next to the pond where they had first met. Each time they got together, they fell more and more in love. The rest they say is history.

It was not long after that they joyously discovered that Upepo’unavuma was expecting, and now the star-crossed lovers face the hardest of their challenges yet; raising a family without the protection of the pride they both grew up in. Jiwe is very protective of Upepo (who is timid), and sometimes stoic when both he and she are around others. When they are alone, Upepo is more confident and Jiwe is more affectionate.

But they couldn't help but indulge in their guilty pleasure every now and then. One particular butterfly had both feline's attention. They stalked it with skill, completely oblivious of each other's presence. Finally, they got close, ending up on opposite sides of the boulder where the butterfly was resting. Simultaneously, the lions burst from their hiding place, frightening each other and completely forgetting the insect as it fluttered away. About her: What happened to her mate? What is she like/what were they like? LIMIT: She doesn't remember him, in reality. She suffers from short term and long term memory loss; it varies from time to time. She knows they hadn't meant to be together for a long time; so she supposes it's better this way. To not remember him. What she does know, is that these cubs are a new start to a new life. She will try her hardest to remember everything about her children.
She will forget their names every once and a while; but she won't ever leave them behind or forget them entirely. She loves them dearly.
