Is it true that a lot of Hmong People especially Old G's (Elders) believe too much in their culture?
Not that there is anything wrong with that though.... they have too much pride in themselves.

Most Asian families (includes Hmong) are like hierachies with the eldest being revered as a god of the house. Their elder acted that way, so why shouldn't they? It's a cycle, so in all--yes.

I don't think that they believe too much in it, they're just traditional. With immigrating into America, us younger generations have different values and views about this kind of stuff because we live in and grew up in a different society than our elders.
But I kind of agree with the whole having too much pride in themselves. I know people who are pretty traditional and who are Shaman as well and it's as if they think I'm not as Hmong because I don't speak Hmong very much or because I don't believe in Shamanism

That maybe true. Plus the Christians and well the Catholic don't get along that well. Some people have different beliefs. For Buddhism is well we give rice to our beloved one and pray with beads.

it is forbidden in the hmong culture. i dont kno why, but most people who have the same last names as you are cute, but to tell you the truth, i dont kno why people care about being taboo. They've done it in the past, now its forbidden in the future.

welll tabooing means ating someone from your family. which means ,, uncles,nieces,aunts, brothers sisters, even cousins.

Eh, to voice my opinion, i find nothing wrong with tabooing. Just as long as you don't date someone you're related to, the name shouldn't matter.
We rent out a mobile home to a couple and they both have the same first name: Sharon. i know first and last names are different; however, should love be prevented for something as simple as a shared word?
